Th is essay is the final piece of my eduacation. The essay contains material that have beenproduced from a study that have been made in Majviken, Gothenburg, one of many cohousingcommunitys in Sweden. The special quality this building poses is that is was originally built as acohousing living but in the past 25 years is has been a housing estate without any form of servicefunction included.During the last year the whole house have been remodeled and a new kind of livingconcept havebeen created, a lifestyle living with many different kinds of service functions included, hostess,common premises for the residents with things suchs as gym, saunas, movietheater and relaxationareas.The study is about the residents living in Majviken, and how they feel about the new way ofliving but also how it affect their lives. What do the new living lifestyle stand for?My original intention have also been to observe and make interwievs with the residents to capturetheir thoughts and in the end have the possibilty to summarize and compare how it was before theredmodeling..

Examensarbetet handlar om normalitet och avvikelse i den svenska skolan. Utifrån de tester av läs- och skrivfärdighet som utförs på gymnasieeleverna i årskurs ett i Huddinge kommun, har vi undersökt vilka effekter dessa tester har på tre olika nivåer. De tre nivåerna är kommun, skola och elev. Vi menar att testerna är en del av skolans konstruktion av en normal elev. Den som faller utanför faller utanför och ska genom olika åtgärder göras normal.

The public transport network in Täby commune consists currently of two types of bus line of whichboth belong to the category of feeder lines. The first type terminates at Danderyds sjukhus and feedsto the subway whereas the second type terminates at Täby centrum and feeds to Roslagsbanan, asuburban narrow-gauge railway system in northern Stockholm. The trunk bus line that connectsgreater parts of the commune with Danderyd is the ring line 604 and goes both clockwise (604H) andcounterclockwise (604V). The main negative aspect of this structure is the complicity in incorporatingit timetable-wise with other bus lines that share the same route, such as through Enebyberg.The goal of this project is to investigate the possibilities of splitting ring line 604 and connecting theends to two different bus routes that terminate at Täby centrum today. Apart from easing thecoordination with other bus lines through Enebyberg, the extension also creates new directconnections from various areas in Täby to Danderyds sjukhus.

This study aims at examining the prospects for a policy transfer of a Swedish municipal environmental policy (that of Växjö) to the French urban commune Blois, for which an ambition of becoming a leading eco-city in France, was declared by the mayor in 2008.In the analysis, emphasis is laid on mechanisms to institutionalize the main environmental policy principles, such as political and institutional structures and processes. Other prospects for an institutionalization of a new environmental policy that are to be investigated are economic structures as well as visions of the different decision-makers concerned. Research methods used in the study are qualitative interviews, document studies and a questionnaire.The findings of the analysis show that today?s prospects for an environmental policy in Blois close to that of Växjö, are clearly limited. The limitations can partly be found in economic structures but these seem to be rather related to a lack of priority amongst actors.

This report consists of two parts, out of which the first deals with the planning and designing ofa small house in the Swedish city of Huddinge, using the weather conditions of the Swedish cityof Malmö. The house has to be in accordance with the Swedish building- and constructionregulations, as well as with the limitations in energy consumption given.The house itself has to consist of at least two bedrooms, and blueprints of the house, variousconstructional elements, ventilation, sanitation and electricity have to be drawn. Calculations ofthese aspects also have to be made, to ascertain that the different parts function as they should,and that the dimensions are sufficient.The second part is called ?Allergy free home?, and investigates how indoor climate affects us,and whether it has changed during the last few decades. It also makes an effort to see whetherthe increase of allergies and asthma is correlated with possible changes in indoor climate, andwhether technical solutions might help to handle or even decrease the issues arisen.

Bergkaraktäriseringssystem såsom RMR och Q (Rock mass rating och Rock tunneling quality index) används ofta i förstadiet av ett byggprojekt för att ge en tidig uppfattning om bergmassans karaktär och kvalitet. Informationen underlättar planeringen och det fortsatta arbetet genom att påvisa korrekta arbetsmetoder och risker. De två vanligaste systemen för att karaktärisera berg är RMR och Q, vilka båda med hjälp av fältbedömningar och beräkning betygsätter den aktuella bergmassan. RMR och Q har här använts för att karaktärisera en bergmassa i Huddinge kommun inför en planerad byggnation. Resultaten av karaktäriseringen med de båda systemen skiljer sig åt på vissa platser vilket sannolikt kan förklaras med systemens olika tillvägagångssätt.

It is important to work with economic, social and ecological dimensions in order to reach sustainable development. Furthermore, these dimensions are supposed to work opon together. Green Flag´s aim is to process these dimensions in the thematic work in preschool, where children are involved. The aim of this study is to find out how certificated Green flag preschools work with the three dimensions in the education of sustainable development practically and how the children participate in this work. I have used a qualitative semi-structured interview to find out preschool teachers´ thoughts and opinions about how they work with sustainable development and how they make the children involved.

The concerning issue of declining number of hunters in North America is also apparent in Europe and Sweden. When the bulk of research found on human dimensions and hunting participation has almost exclusively been done in the United States, this report seeks to add to the needed knowledge on a national level focusing on the causes of hunter declines related to social factors within Sweden. Using hunter data reaching from commune, county to National level, this report describes the correlation between a number of variables and the hunting participation in Sweden.The typical Swedish hunter lives in an area with low population density, the person usually has higher education, the living situation is stable with no recent moving and there is relatively good access to forest land. Persons with weaker connection to the Swedish culture such as foreign citizens, people with foreign background and people born outside ?the Nordic countries? are less likely to start hunt or participate in hunting.A strong relationship was found between the favorite game, moose (Alces alces), and the amount of hunters participating in the hunting.

KOGNITIV FUNKTION OCH BIOMARKÖRER FÖR DEMENS -EN JÄMFÖRANDE STUDIE FRÅN EN MINNESMOTTAGNING Fredrik Gustafsson  Demens är en vanlig och svårbehandlad sjukdom. Den karakteriseras av minnesproblem och kognitiva störningar. Vid Alzheimers demens [AD], den vanligaste demensformen, bildas senila plack och neurofibriller i specifika delar av hjärnan. Utbredningen av dessa speglas i halten av tre biomarkörer, t-tau, p-tau och Ab42 i ryggmärgsvätskan. Sambanden mellan de degenerativa förändringarna och kognitionen är komplexa.

Denna processbeskrivning syftar till att med utgångspunkt i köksträdgårdens historia och skogsträdgårdens principer utforma ett förslag till en köksträdgård med fleråriga växter. Träd, buskar och perenner med ätliga delar och som är härdiga i zon 3 har använts till förslaget. Genom studier av skogsträdgårdens principer och köksträdgårdens historia har jag kommit fram till en utformning som är gemensam för tre olika tidsepoker och som, för att den ska bli lättskött, stödjer sig på skogsträdgårdens principer. De träd, buskar och perenner som använts för gestaltningsförslaget har spaltas upp i växtlistor där de växter som var specifika för den enskilda tidsepoken finns i ett kvarter. Det är tre kvarter med typiska växter för varje tidsepok och ett kvarter med specifika skogsträdgårdsväxter.

This Master thesis discusses the development of a virtual human soft tissue object for use in exercise applications of various medical procedures.The soft tissue object to be developed shall look like, feel like and behave as living human tissue. It shall give the user a realistic feeling of weight, softness and roughness, and shall behave in a correct way for exercise purposes. The soft tissue model is to be used in a three dimensional stereo graphic environment with haptic feedback. A prototype for practicing the procedure of inserting a catheter is built. The prototype is used to evaluate the potential of the virtual environment for medical exercise applications, and to assess the realism and usability of the soft tissue object.

The aim of this master's thesis is to present an introduction to semiological analysis of web based material, which is a hypothesis that combines the theoretical framework of classical Saussurean semiology, visual social semiotics as was developed by Günther Kress and Theo van Leeuwen, and Roland Barthes's notion of 'Myths'. Furthermore, a new tool called 'pseudo-signifier', constructed solely for the thesis, is also used in conjunction with the semiological analysis. The hypothesis is tested in a case study involving the web portal of a Swedish commune, Gothenburg (goteborg.se). A complete semiological analysis is performed on the case. The case study revealed numerous findings of interest, among others that images and texts on the web portal were sometimes used in a contradicting manner, and often in a way that symbollically excluded citizens from the portal, a fact which could be uncovered when studying underlying myths that permeated the web portal.

Lindrig kognitiv störning (eng. Mild Cognitive Impairment, MCI) betecknar ett tillstånd av försämrad kognitiv funktion, som inte uppfyller kriterierna för demens. MCI tycks innebära en ökad risk att utveckla Alzheimer och andra demenssjukdomar. Syftet med studien var att förutsättningslöst undersöka antal och typer av subgrupper till MCI som bäst överensstämmer med kognitiva testresultat samt att undersöka utvecklingsförlopp för subgrupperna. En klusteranalys utfördes med testresultat från 287 MCI patienter som utretts på Huddinge sjukhus.

Examensarbetet syftar till att redovisa hur fyra olika kommuner i Stockholmsområdet, Huddinge, Nacka, Sollentuna och Vallentuna, arbetar med prioriteringar och initiala tidsplaner för samhällsbyggnadsprojekt. Syftet är även att göra en studie över hur väl initiala uppskattningar i samband med planuppdrag för detaljplanearbetets tidsåtgång stämmer överens med verkligt utfall.Sveriges kommuner ansvarar för fysisk planering och ska se till att kommunen tillfredsställer behovet av bostäder och allmänna funktioner. Rutinerna för hur prioriteringar för samhällsbyggnadsprojekt utförs och redovisas varierar stort mellan kommunerna. Huddinge framställer årligen ett av kommunfullmäktige antaget styrdokument som avser tre år och omfattar både prioriteringar projekten sinsemellan och tidsplaner för respektive projekt. Både aktiva och framtida projekt redovisas i dokumentet.
