The purpose of this paper is to present a possible understanding of why the company Tekola is segregated according to sex. In accordance to this purpose, an understanding of how the segregation affects the employees in relation to power, values and possibilities is discussed. The theoretical understanding is that the organization of men and women within Tekola is done in close connection to creation of the meaning of gender in Tekola. This, in turn, affects and is affected by the recruitment to and within the company. Through the study of statistics from a survey, five interviews with employees and former employees and Tekolas? equality plan, we are able to see the possible existence of a glass ceiling, and a culture of homosociality, which affects the possibilities of women to enter the company and also to gain full entrance to power-positions in a negative way.

Integrationspolitik i praktiken : En utvärderande fallstudie av Storstadssatsningen på Bergsjöns bibliotek

The purpose of this Master thesis is to increase the knowledge about how public libraries can contribute to fulfil political programmes aimed towards integration. To achieve this we have conducted an evaluative case study about a public library in Sweden and the activities they carried out within the framework of the metropolitan policy programme Storstadssatsningen?. The questions raised consider which the political aims for integration within this programme were, which activities the library did accomplish, what the result in comparison with the politically decided aims was, and what conclusions can possibly be drawn from this? The theoretical framework consists of theories regarding evaluation, political programmes, integration and segregation, and public library-activities.

There is an irregularity in the interregional migration in Sweden. An increasing proportion ofthe population is drawn to the metropolitan areas, which creates problems for the smallermunicipalities and towns when their population declines. At the same time, our whole societyis faced with a great challenge: we need to redirect towards a sustainable development, wherethe environmental issues are discussed and dealt with to secure that all present and futuregenerations are given equal opportunities to live a good life.The aim of this study is to, focusing mainly on the environmental dimension of thesustainability concept, examine the attractivity of housing with sustainability claims. Toanswer this, three research questions were used:? Was the migration motive to reduce their environmental impact a part of the decision tomove, among migrants who had moved to housing with sustainability claims?? If the motive was a part of the decision, how much impact did it have compared to othermigration motives?? Which factors in housing aiming at sustainability are considered important by peopleliving in housing with sustainability claims?The research questions have been answered using quantitative data, gained in the form of selfadministeredquestionnaires which were distributed in four different residential areas withsustainability claims in the county of Västra Götaland, Sweden.

En egen lya : en kvalitativ studie av några ungdomars upplevelse av insatsen strukturerat ungdomsboende

The aim of my study was to investigate a few young peoples experience of their treatment. The study was qualitative based on interviews with three young persons at the end of their treatment there. The subject was chosen because this kind of youth housing is an interesting alternative to institutional care for young people, despite there is not much known about the results of the treatment. The results were analyzed from earlier research and central concepts from the theory of empowerment and Anton Antonovskys theory about Sense of coherence. The results of this study show that these young peoples are satisfied with their treatment at the youth housing.

Segregationen inom Rosengård : En ideologikritisk analys av tre bostadsförvaltares agerande och icke agerande i segregationsproblematiken inom Rosengård

Between 1965-1974 one million new flats were produced in Sweden and the project is called the millionprogramme. One of the areas that was build during this period of time is Rosengård in Malmoe. Today Rosengård is a very segregated area, not just in relation to the city of Malmoe, but within itself. I´ve chosen to study the ideologies behind one of the actors acting and non acting regarding the segregation complex of problems in Rosengård, the housemanagers. I´ve studied one public housecompany and two houseassociations who all owns and manages houses in Rosengård.The ideologies that I´ve studied in this study is what the informers think of the people that live in Rosengård, the society in general, Rosengård and the diffrent smaller areas within Rosengård.

Vem bor på andra sidan vägen? : en fallstudie om hantering av segregation i Kristianstad

Studien ämnade undersöka huruvida staden Kristianstad är segregerat, om de inblandade aktörerna var medvetna om detta samt hur de valt att agera. Aktörerna som intervjuades var: Anders Siversson, chef på Stadsbyggnadskontoret i Kristianstad; Saleh Fakhro, integrationssamordnare på Gamlegården och Bertil Svenson, områdeschef på ABK. ABK är ett kommunalt ägt bostadsbolag och har således ett ansvar inför kommunen och dess invånare på ett sätt som de privat ägda bostadsbolagen inte har. Stadsbyggnadskontoret jobbar för kommunen i syfte att planera stadens framtida utveckling inom både boende och näringsliv.Tidigare forskning i ämnet segregation tyder på att boendesegregation har potentiellt starka negativa effekter på samhället i form av ett bristande deltagande och utanförskap. Begreppet segregation kan summeras som en uppdelning mellan människor, där den ena gruppen har en minskad förmåga att delta i samhället jämfört med den andra.

Utvecklingspotential till en mer attraktiv bostadsmarknad : En teoretisk värderingsanalys av stadskvaliteter och dess relevans för bostadsbyggandet

Stockholm has in recent years experienced a strong population increase but despite that fact, the demand for housing has not been followed by enough housing contracts. According to forecasts, growth in population will further be continued upward. With more condominiums than rental units on the market, new apartments are too expensive to live in. This creates unsustainable problems for those in lower classes of society. Creating a housing market in the periphery of Stockholm is not sustainable from a social perspective.
