The purpose of this study was to examine how young men and women who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) who are exposed to Honor related violence, intimidation or repression perceive their situation, what kind of help/support they have received and if they feel that the help and support offered by the society has been adequate. After the murder of Fadime Sahindal in 2002 attention was drawn to Honor violence in Sweden. During the period 2003-2007 the government invested 200 million SEK for efforts to prevent Honor related violence. Studies have shown that Honor related violence not only affects young immigrants, but also young people with different sexual orientation then heterosexual. It also shows that the Honor violence is not depended on religion or ethnicity.

The purpose of this study was to look into how evidence evaluation in verdicts considering 2 § LVU (Care of Young Persons Act) linked to Honor related problems are handled by the County Administrative Court of Stockholm. The questions at issue were how the County Administrative Court handles the prerequisites regarding 2 § LVU verdicts, how the County Administrative Court proceeds when evaluating evidence in 2 § LVU verdicts, and how the County Administrative Court handles indications of that a child is living in an Honor-related context. To answer this, five verdicts have been analyzed. In addition to this, two interviews were made as a complement. In the analysis of the collected material, the authors proceeded from a theory of evidence and used a hermeneutic method for the analysis.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka hedersförtryckta kvinnorupplevelser till följd av att vara hedersutsatt. Hedersförtryck kanbland annat definieras som: kollektiv förtryck av familj och släkt,frihetsbegränsning, fysiskt och psykiskt våld, kontroll av beteende ochsexualitet samt inget socialt stöd av varken familj eller släkt. I studienhar tre kvinnor i åldrarna 20 ? 30 intervjuats. Data samlades ingenom semistrukturerade intervjuer och analyserades utifråndatastyrd tematisk analys.

The purpose of this study has been to explore definitions of violence performed in the name of Honor, and the conditions under which the phenomenon occurs and is upheld. Furthermore, the study aimed at exploring how the Swedish expression for violence in the name of Honor, ?hedersrelaterat våld?, is used within the Swedish media. To achieve these purposes, previous research in this matter was reviewed, as well as an analysis by means of categorizing the content of news articles from two Swedish daily newspapers. Previous research has showed that this type of violence occurs foremost within cultures upholding patriarchal structures and traditions, and women?s (non-)sexuality is looked upon as being of an utmost importance for the family?s Honor.

The main purpose of this study is to examine what the factor or factors are to why young exposed Kurdish women stay with their family despite Honor-related oppression and violence.We have used a qualitative study process consisting interviews with eight young Kurdish women. We have also applied theories such as cultural patterns and aspects of power by Mona Eliasson and normalization process by Eva LundgrenWith the material from our research we can see that the main and only factor to why the respondents decide to stay with their family is fear of getting killed or beaten.This study will provide you as a reader a better understanding of why young exposed Kurdish women decide to stay with their family..

AbstractWith the murder of Fadime in 2002 Honor killings and honour related oppression became a subject of wide public debate. The question was raised whether the Swedish social services had the knowledge and the resources necessary to face the issue with Honor related oppression.This study is about the views on Honor related oppression among oppressed women and professional social workers and aims to explore the relationship between social worker and client in an Honor related context. Does the risk of culture clashes pose a problem in dealing with the Swedish authorities and do Swedish social workers have the necessary tools to help the, often young, oppressed women that seek their aid? This is a qualitative study based on five individual interviews: Two former victims of honour related oppression, two professional social workers and one relative of a young girl who was the victim of an Honor killing.Observations:The social workers found that they had adequate resources at hand but that awareness among employees in the social services needed to be improved.The clients felt that the help they?ve received from the social services was helpful but that more information to the public about available resources was necessary along with a better understanding of the differences between their own culture and that of the Swedish society. The clients expressed that the realization that they were being oppressed didn?t come overnight.

Min studie handlar om hur inomartskonkurrensen ser ut hos talgoxen, Parus major, när det gäller födosök, trädplacering och säkerhet. Är det så att fåglarna lever i ?mansdominerade? samhällen, att det är hanen som söker föda på de bästa och säkraste delarna av trädet jämfört med honan. För att undersöka detta har 31 talgoxar studerats under nio dagar i sin naturliga miljö. Här noterades var i trädet de placerade sig och hur de sedan förflyttade sig i tre födosök.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the media discussions of the rape in Bjästa 2009 and to reveal how stereotypical illusions of ethnicity, religion and gender affect how media understands and defines violence. The rape in Bjästa occurred in a ?Swedish context? but has been defined as Honor related in other arenas outside media. This discussion occurred because the whole village turned against the woman that was raped and supported the perpetrator? a phenomena that speaks against the idea of an equal society and a behavior that is usually understood as Honor related and something that the ?others? do.

The purpose of this study was to conduct a qualitative study with a case study research design, where we studied social workers and politicians view on Honor-related problems of underage girls and boys in the age 13-17. We need knowledge about Honor related violence and oppression in the political community and social services to work with Honor-related problems. Political decisions affect how social work is developed around the Honor problem; therefore, it is also important to highlight this direction for the work. It requires a knowledge complement of Honor-related problems not to risk exposing the child to further risk from the family (Hedersförtryck, 2009). This is to live up to, for example the law of Social Services, school law and Human Rights (Hussein & Kinuka-Svedberg, 2010).

Although gang violence has gained much attention in Swedish media in recent years, women in gang environments remain unexplored. Recently the Swedish Gender Equality Agency (J?mst?lldhetsmyndigheten) published a report in March 2024 showing that women are being sexually exploited in gang environments, and the report has brought attention to women in gangs. This study examines gender-based violence in gang environments in Sweden. The aim of this study is to examine how intimate relationships with men in gang environments affect womens? agency to enter and leave gangs.

AbstractThe aim of this essay is to understand the view of man as a creature in the Norse culture by studying rituals and ritual actions in conjunction with homicide. The material on which the study is based is called the Icelandic sagas, which are important source of information to the Norse culture. To achieve the purpose, I used a qualitative content analysis and qualitative narrative analysis along with ritual theories based on Roy A Rappaport among others. The questions are for instance:- What ritual actions occur in connection with the homicide, according to the Icelandic sagas? - What are the differences in how individuals are treated in passages where the ritual actions in relation to homicide and homicide cases investigated and why?The results show four different types of ritual acts in relation to homicide.
