AbstractThe intention of our study is to examine how the view of Homeless people and their life situation looks according to a selection of persons, which in their work get into contact with Homeless people. The study is based on a qualitative method that includes interviews. The result of the study is based on interviews with eight persons working in the social services, volunteer organisations, the police and a security organisation. The majority of the persons that have been interviewed are normalising Homeless people; they do not look upon them as different. At the same time they have the opinion that Homeless people live a tougher life and that they have to fight more for their living than other people. The persons that we have interviewed share the view that Homeless people live under a constant pressure of finding a place to sleep.

Background: Homelessness is increasing, and health care is still difficult for many Homeless people to achieve. If they get sick, it is both technically challenging to get a clinic they can go to, but also an economic problem because most of the Homeless have no gainful employment. The fact that many Homeless people experience bad attitudes of health care professionals is one reason why they don?t seek healthcare until an emergency arises. In the profession as a nurse, all people should be given equal treatment regardless of background.

The Homeless are the more vulnerable part in these meetings so their experience of these meetings is my focus in this study. I have in this paper also examined and analyzed how and whether Homeless women and men tends to be treated and ad-dressed differently with basis on their gender. The main results I have found is that the Homeless but also social welfare officers actually feel that there is com-municative problems when the parts meet and cooperates which often results in conflicts and lack of trust. I have chosen to highlight a number of factors that have been claimed as the main reasons for the experience of a poor meeting.

Homelessness and Homeless people is something that is described and explained in different ways over time. Since the 1950s, two discourses about Homelessness and its causes has been competing with each other. One discourse hold the meaning that Homelessness is caused by housing shortage and the other focus on individual shortcomings that make Homeless to unsuitable tenants. In the media, Homelessness and Homeless often is associated with crime, addiction and mental illness, this reinforce the public perception of Homeless people as deviants, which separates the Homeless from society even more. The purpose of this study is to examine whether media representations of Homeless and Homelessness in an evening paper and a morning paper, has changed in the 2000s, and if these representations are consistent with those found in the reports of Homelessness from The National Board of Wealth and Welfare. In order to achieve the purpose of the study and answer our research questions, the authors have used a discourse analytical approach using some key analytical tools from both critical discourse analysis and discourse theory in the analysis of the empirical material.

This study aims to examine how the interventions for Homeless persons in the municipality of Kalmar are organized. The study is based on four half-structured qualitative interviews with both representatives from different instances and also from persons who have experience of being Homeless. The theoretical bases we have used to analyze the material are organization theory, specifically the concept of bureaucracy. Our results show that Homelessness is not seen as a problem in itself, since the general view is that Homeless people often have a complex problem scenario where drug- and alcohol abuse and mental illness are common. It is often the latter that takes priority in the interventions and the housing question is therefore neglected. We also found that social services do not have a satisfactory structure around the organization of the work on Homelessness. They do not have any specific device in Kalmar that focus on Homelessness issues with the result that the existing units are forced to take care of the work of Homelessness.

Verksamheter för hemlösa missbrukare i Lund : viktiga andra?

The purpose of this paper was to study the various organisations that work with drug abusing Homeless people in Lund. We have tried to compare the possibilities they have to change the way the Homeless people look at themselves. The organisations that we have studied are Aluma, Diakonicentralen, the shelter Piletorp and the social welfare office. The methods used to collect data were interviews with professionals and Homeless people as well as reading literature. We have used Ted Goldberg's (docent in social work at the university in Stockholm) theory. He writes that you have to be a significant other to persons with deviant behaviour to be able to help them become a part of the society and to change the way they look at themselves.

: 10 intervjuer i storstadsmiljö

The purpose of the essay was to discover how Homeless persons want to live. Does it matter what it looks like? The method used was a qualitative study including literature and 10 interviews with ten Homeless persons, of which seven lived outdoors and three in temporarily residences. The central questions were the following:How do Homeless people want to live?In what sort of houses do they want to live and where? How do they look upon their situation and their future? What obstacles can occur if they for example got an apartment to live in?Are there any proposals to solve the problems? Most of them had been living outdoors for five to ten years, perhaps more, and they were worried and sad about their future.

"Att känna att man är en deltagare och inte en åskådare" : En kvalitativ studie om hur vägen ut ur hemlöshet kan se ut och upplevas samt hur personer med erfarenhet av att vara hemlösa kan se på samhällets lösningar kring hemlöshet.

This study aims to find out how the way out of Homelessness can look and be experienced and in what way persons with experience of being Homeless might think about our society´s different solutions to this problem. The study is based on five half-structured qualitative interviews with persons who have experience of being Homeless. The theoretical perspectives used to analyze the empirism are ?Stages of Change? and ?The Process of Role Exit?, both dealing with changing processes. Our results show that the way out of Homelessness can be long and very hard to achieve, and the change in housing situation can be either a process towards a more and more stable housing or through an opportunity that suddenly appears.Another result shows that people with the experience of being Homeless can be negative to the solutions offered by our society but be positive to the idea of Housing First.
