Abstract We have chosen to figure out why a majority in a home-help service group in west of Sweden is, or has been sick-listed. The purpose with our work has been to investigate our area to be able to come up with different factors which can have contributed to the high numbers of this particular group. We have worked with qualitative method and conversation-interviews to be able to answer our purpose at the best way. We had separate interviews with the ten employees at their work and these interviews we chose to record with a computer. The result we got were that the group had existed for about four years and since then, they have had several different directors.

Cancer is one of the most common diseases and it affects not only adults but also many adolecents and children every year. Those who are affected of disease face many challenges that will affect their lives. The aim of this literature review was to illuminate adolecents experience of cancer and how it affects them in their daily living. The result showed that the adolecents experience many physical and mental side-effects from disease and treatment. They expressed the need of information, support and understanding from their families, friends, school and care givers.

Background: Many cancer patients who get bone metastases live longer thanks to the successful research and development of medicines during recent years. Many studies show general health benefits from physical activity. For patients with bone metastases the possibility of physical activity perhaps should limit? Nurses at oncological units are often in lifelong contact with this group of patients. It´s therefore important to have knowledge about the bone metastases and how it influence the patient´s possibility of performing physical activity in order to support and encourage the patient to safely physical activity.Aim: To describe the patient´s possibility of physical activity with metastases to the bone.Method: A literature study.Results: The extension of the bone metastases shall be verified through X-ray.

För att kunna vara aktiv utomhus krävs att miljön inte är hindrande. Äldre personer har, i de flesta fall, en minskad fysisk kapacitet och är genom detta extra känsliga för hinder i miljön.Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om, och i så fall på vilket sätt, förändringar i den fysiska utemiljön inverkar på äldre personers aktivitetsutförande utanför hemmet. För att besvara studiens syfte sökte författarna svar på vilka aktiviteter de äldre utförde utomhus, hur de upplevde utemiljön samt om de uppmärksammat förändringarna i utemiljön. Informanterna var engagerade i ett flertal olika aktiviteter utomhus och promenader var den vanligast förekommande uteaktiviteten. Det framkom att de äldre var mycket nöjda med utemiljön i området och att de upplevde få hinder.

Syftet med studien var att jämföra skattad livskvalitet hos patienter med kranskärlssjukdom före och efter genomgången 12 månaders hjärtrehabilitering samt att jämföra skattad livskvalitet hos kvinnor och män. Urvalet bestod av 117 patienter (35 kvinnor och 82 män) som deltog i hjärtrehabiliteringen vid Hälsoinvest Högbo AB under åren 1996-2001. För skattning av livskvalitet användes formuläret QLQ-AP (Quality of Life Questionnaire - Angina Pectoris). QLQ-AP är ett sjukdomsspecifikt formulär och de 22 frågorna är indelade i fyra olika skalor: fysisk aktivitet, somatiska symtom, emotionellt och tillfredsställelse med livet. Huvudresultatet i studien visade att deltagarna (n=117) efter genomgången rehabilitering skattade en signifikant förbättrad livskvalitet för totalskalan samt för samtliga delskalor avseende QLQ-AP.

This is a qualitative study of how 4 school teachers and 3 special educational teachers define the term ?pupil in need of special education?. They have each one been interviewed about this term, by the means of a semi-structured interview. Afterwards the collected information has been analyzed and seven major themes have been arranged out of them. From these themes it is possible to see that the term is hard to define, since the participants all believe that it should be decided by each individual case, if the pupil is in need of special education or not, and that the education in itself has to be relevant to the need, which means one cannot decide what special educational needs are, without a student who is in need of them.

Burn injuries often make the patient suffer from pain, anxiety and lack of a social life. Sister Callista Roy´s theory was used to analyze the result of the study. One of her goal is to promote the adaptive function of self-perception.

This essay will focus on the period 1840-1870, where the main focus will be the american civil war, and what the immigrants wrote back to their relatives in Sweden. This study will also focus on the integration of Swedish immigrants.My main question are what did the swedes write back to Sweden during the war? And how did it differ from the period before and after the war?But also can a war assimilate a immigrant faster than it would be done without the war?The conclusion that has been made is that the war did help the swedish immigrants to integrate much faster than usually.

Establishment can be described in many terms. This term is about a company that is establishing on the European market. For many companies, this can appear as a difficult, time- and resource taking process but to advance and develop it is not enough to have a good position on the Swedish market. The following paper looks into MaternityPaternity leave and how the parents make use of it. The underlying reasons for the paper, is a pattern of unequal division of leave between the mother and father.By using a qualitative in depth interview technique with couples that have children between 2 and 3 years old we have looked for reasons why the decisions, around the division of leave, have been taken, and what factors influence the outcome.We have found that great importance is attached to, how, the negotiations are carried out between the parents, although these negotiations are influenced by a series of circumstances where the families economic situation influenced by the employment market are important factors.The results from the empiric part of the study showed a link between the childs age and which parent stayed home. Furthermore, the results show the families place in relationship to the structure of society also plays an important part in the concluding division of leave..

According to the Employment Protection Act, the permanent employment is the main condition of employment in Sweden. Nevertheless, nowadays a large number of employers choose to apply other conditions of employment than the permanent employment in their businesses. The rapid technical development and the demands for shorter perspective investment in companies on the Swedish labour market have started the requirement for a more flexible workforce. On-call employment is one of the conditions of employment that is increasing the most. This condition of employment is adjusted by the parties on the labour market.

Vardagsrehabilitering skapar förutsättningar för den äldre att klara sina dagliga aktiviteter utifrån bästa förmåga och omgivande miljö. Ett rehabiliterande förhållningssätt som arbetsmetod kan inverka på vårdpersonalens trivsel på arbetsplatsen. Syftet var att undersöka vårdpersonalens upplevelser av att arbeta vardagsrehabiliterande på särskilt boende för äldre. Urvalet var nio kvinnor, anställda som vårdpersonal på ett kommunalt särskilt boende för äldre i södra Sverige. Samtliga hade varit delaktiga i ett projekt för att skapa en modell för vardagsrehabilitering på arbetsplatsen.

Most of the people in today's society have at least some knowledge about Alzheimer's disease to some extent. When a person with Alzheimer's disease is being taken care of at home, the relatives have to change their own priorities and readapt themselves to the existing situation. The primary aim of this study is to describe how the relatives experience their own situation in life. The secondary aim of this study is to describe how the relatives understand their own relation with the health care authorities concerning the help and support issues. The authors have realized this study using the analytic inductive method and have interviewed four informants using a semi structured interview guide.

Multipel Skleros (MS) är en sjukdom vars förlopp är oförutsägbart. Den exakta sjukdomsorsaken är fortfarande okänd. MS relaterade symptom resulterar i en försämring i utförandet av aktiviteter i det dagliga livet (ADL).Syftet med vår studie var att undersöka upplevelsen av I-ADL aktiviteter i den fysiska miljön hos personer med Multipel Skleros. Respondentgruppen som matchade våra inklusionskriterier bestod utav sju personer med diagnosen MS. Den valda metoden utgick ifrån en egen komponerad, semistrukturerad intervjuguide i huvudsak baserat på ?Användbarheten I Min Bostad- AIMB? och kompletterades med frågor berörande I-ADL för områden utanför AIMB.Av resultatet framgick att respondenterna upplevde stort aktivitetsbortfall i sina I-ADL aktivitetsutföranden i den fysiska miljön.

Syftet med studien var att få en inblick i hur vardagen såg ut för ungdomar med en reumatologisk sjukdom. Kartläggningen bestod av att ta reda på vilka aktiviteter ungdomarna ägnade sig åt, hur mycket tid de spenderade på aktiviteterna, var aktiviteterna utfördes samt tillsammans med vem. Syftet var även att ta reda på hur de upplevde sina utförda aktiviteter samt om de varit tvungna att välja bort någon aktivitet på grund av sin sjukdom. I studien ingick sju flickor i åldern 14-16 år. Datainsamlingen gjordes med hjälp av en återberättad tidsdagbok, veckoöversikt samt en fördjupande intervju kring de aktiviteter som nämndes i den återberättande dagboken.
