This assignment focuses on the concept of ?school trips? and Gotland. Pedagogically, the school trip was initially focussed on practical and national aspects, the education to be made visible and the idea was to present Sweden, its nature and its industries. The Gotland administration chose to focus on the unique and cultural history, and it was unusual that visits were undertaken to factories and workshops. This was also the start of the current tourism trend where knowledge of the value of the countryside and the opportunities for tourism is a successful combination, which can be seen today even if the school trips now have different areas to visit.

The persons who have been interviewed are singing students, singing teachers and teachers in the Alexander Technique. The literature and the interviews describe the Alexander Technique as a method that, with support of a teacher of the Alexander Technique, helps you to recreate the balance between the cranium, neck and spine.

Syftet med detta arbete är att diskutera förhållandet mellan historisk spelfilm och historieundervisningen i den svenska skolan idag. Spelfilm har blivit en del av elevers vardag och historiker diskuterar i allt högre grad hur historia används i spelfilmer och hur detta påverkar vårt historiemedvetande. Möjligtvis är det så att detta bruk av historia leder till ett nytt historiemedvetande. Film kan ses som ett pedagogiskt redskap, en upplevelse som leder fram till intresse och kunskap. Vad detta arbete strävar mot är att undersöka om man kan lära sig något om det förflutna genom historisk spelfilm samt om historisk spelfilm kan utveckla elevers historiemedvetande. Summary The place I have been working with is a garden, belonging to a family estate, called Tolvmansgården. It is located on an island northeast of Norrtälje in Roslagen. The frontage is red with white corners like so many other houses in the neighbourhood, but ours is one of the oldest houses on the island. Today the house and garden is own by my mother, Pia Johansson. Since I?ve started my education in garden design my interest for our country garden has increased.

In this essay I analyze Karin Boye?s first novel, Astarte, focusing on her views concerning norms,ideals and female liberation. The novel is written in a tone of irony, allowing for many of thecharacters to be viewed as caricatures. The theories and methods I use are drawn from genderstudies and queer theory. Queer theorist Judith Butler, and the concepts of performativity, interpellation, genealogy and the heterosexual matrix, are of central importance for my analysis.

Policy document conversion in practice ? a qualitative study of five upper grade teachers approach to the 2011 policy documents in history.This essay examines five upper grade teachers approach to the new 2011 policy documents in the history school subject, as well as it?s impact on the teachers class room activities. Also, the study examines what factors have influenced this conversion process. Syftet med denna intervjustudie är att med en vetenskapligt kvalitativ metod undersöka hur motivation hos elever skapas utifrån yrkesverksamma historielärares perspektiv, samt hur detta skapande förhåller sig till motivationsteorier. Sju lärare fördelat på två grundskolor och ett gymnasium, har intervjuats. Svaren från intervjuerna har bearbetats separat och sedan analyserats utifrån motivationsteorier. Resultatet visar att lärarna ser egenskaperna i rollen som lärare vara den primära faktorn i skapandet av motivation hos eleverna. Dessa är att vara en god berättare, engagerad, ha goda ämneskunskaper och ha förmåga att kunna beröra elever.

Electrical stunning is the method that has been used in Sweden to stun broilers prior to slaughter. However, for reasons of animal welfare and meat quality, research has been made in the EU to develop new stunning methods. Gas stunning is now regarded as the best alternative. In this study literature has been reviewed with focus on different gas stunning systems and observations have been made at two different slaughterhouses regarding animal welfare before, during and directly after stunning. At one slaughter plant carbondioxide was used in a two-stage system where the birds were standing on a conveyer belt during the stunning procedure.

Kolonialismen har av många pekats ut som en central anledning till den avsaknad av ekonomisk tillväxt som idag kännetecknar Afrika. Genom en analys av tre aspekter som är teoretiskt sammankopplade med kolonialismen, den ensidiga handeln, avsaknaden av regional handel samt försämrade bytesvillkor besvaras frågan om hur kolonialismen förändrade den Västafrikanska handeln. Diskussio¬nen går sedan över till hur dessa förändringar i sin tur påverkade regionens förut¬sättningar för ekonomisk tillväxt. Analysen tar sin början med kolonialismens intåg i regionen kring 1885 och sträcker sig fram till nutid. Slutsatsen är att även om kolonialismen förde med sig ett antal förändringar, såsom en kraftigt ökad handel med Europa och kroniska bytesunderskott, är det tydligt att den inte för¬ändrade den grundläggande handelsstrukturen i Västafrika.

In this thesis I set out to study how the reading of fictional literature is viewed, legitimatized and operationalized in two educational domains: the recently revised steering documents that all Swedish teachers must relate to, as well as a selection of teaching materials designed for education in the Swedish language for upper secondary school. The teaching material I have studied has been recently updated in order to correspond with the new steering documents. I relate my analysis to previous research about the use of fiction in education, and I also combine my analysis of the two educational domains to see whether the underlying intentions of the steering documents have influenced the revision of the teaching material. The outcome indicates that the steering documents? previous focus on culture has diminished although a certain insecurity as to how to use the concept and deal with the issue of whose culture should be taught can be identified.

 This essay has been investigate a Hindu swaminarayantempel in central Sweden, its activities and function from a diaspora perspective. Also to investigate the relationship between Hindu diaspora groups and in relation to South Asia. An ethnographic method was used.The result of this study shows that the key activities temple provides the puja. Pujan is the most frequent activity in the investigated Temple. The temple also provides other activities that often are linked to anniversaries and celebrations of festive calendar, such as Diwali or gods' birthdays.The investigated temple has a similar function as other diaspora groups.
