Studies show that activity based costing (ABC) is not widespread in practice even though it has been present in the academic world since the 80's. This thesis examines the reasons for the discrepancy between theory and practice through a case study of a Swedish manufacturing company. The intension is to answer the question of what contributes to the choice of precision in product costing.We found arguments for increasing precision in product costing but not to the extent of a full-scale ABC implementation. This hasbeen an exploratory work in how I could translate my illustrations tomoving images in the program Adobe Aftereffects. I have formed myown narrative by creating a storyboard. I worked with illustrated setdesign, created an atmosphere in the film and experimented with howto tell a subtle story.

The subject of this thesis is the history of the library at The Göteborg Museum of Art. The aim of the thesis is to depict and analyze the emergence and the expansion of the library?s holdings until 1939. To fulfill the aim, two questions are asked. The first question is: Is it possible to argue that the library?s holdings were collected to document the entire world of art? The question is formulated in relation to a comment by Susan Wyngaard.

The purpose of this paper is to bring a British mural painting that originated in England in the 1920?s into the limelight and introduce it to the Swedish public. The mural was commissioned by Tate Gallery, currently known as Tate Britain. The work of art was designed for a semi-public space as a decoration in the Refreshment Room of the gallery, located in the basement where there was little natural light. The artist, a young British man named Rex Whistler, was transformed from being a student at an art school into a celebrated professional artist by this piece of art.

The forest in the county of Småland has been utilised for a long time. One of the most important forms of utilisation of wood has been charcoaling for the benefit of the iron industry. Shortage of forest in relation to the iron industry, was discussed already in the 17th century in Sweden. The aim of this study was to analyse the purchase and consumption of charcoal at Storebro Bruk, an ironwork in Småland, during the period 1793-1850, as well as analyse the shortage of forest at the time. To determine the utilisation of the forest in the area, I have used historical sources from Storebro Bruksarkiv.

The goal with this project, was to explore the producing of a musicvideo with a synergistic focus in a practical way. Beside the practical work with the recording and editing of music and video, I wanted to explore the sound engineers role in such a project? To my help I had the video producer Hannes Knutsson from the small film- collective Lefvande Bilder and the singer, guitarist and songwriter Conny Flink. The result of my work is a musicvideo published on the internet website YouTube and the report of the making of it along with my work around the question above is published in this report. Utgångspunkten för min uppsats har varit en dokumentation av ett rollarbete på skolan, en slags dagbok. För att få innehållet i uppsatsen så autentiskt som möjligt har jag valt att inte göra några förändringar i efterhand. Jag har under skrivandets gång dragit en hel massa slutsatser och skulle jag efter alla de insikter som förändrat min syn på teater och hur man repeterar förändrat uppsatsens innehåll skulle den i mina ögon vara förkastlig. Jag har istället valt att skildra den process som jag genomgått som tänkande konstnär, detta i sin tur leder till att jag ibland förkastar konklusioner som jag dragit bara någon dag tidigare..

Allteftersom 3d-animerade produktioner blir alltmer vanliga både i film och i TV-produktioner och datorer blir kraftfullare varje år: så börjar realtidsrendering bli mer och mer aktuellt. I detta examensarbete kommer jag främst att koncentrera mig på att skapa koncept, modellering, texturering, behandling av material och ljussättning av en prototypkaraktär där målet är att se om det går att uppnå en så pass hög kvalité på det visuella, att det går att använda i en professionell produktion och om detta inte uppnås: ta reda på vad som saknas. Resultatet är en karaktärsmodell med en tecknad visuell stil med tillhörande återanvändbart material, som förhoppningsvis ser tillräckligt bra ut för att kunna användas i till exempel ett animerat barnprogram på TV.

AbstractThis thesis explores how secondary schoolteachers in Swedish, prioritise from the Swedish language history materials. The study includes interviews with two Swedish teachers and inquiries with students in two classes at the social science programme (third year). The student literature that is used has been analysed and the teaching is compared with the Swedish central teaching plan. The results show that the students are weak in placing language at different historical time periods and make conclusions of this. The results from both the inquiries and teaching contents disclose a general weakness as it comes to Swedish language history.
