Projektet ?Språkpiller? har utformats genom ett samarbete mellan logopeder och biblioteken i Östergötland. Projektet syftar till att stimulera språket hos barn med språkstörning och fungerar i första hand som ett komplement till logopedisk behandling (Linköpings kommun, 2012).Föreliggande studie syftar till att undersöka om bilderböcker skrivna på bosniska/kroatiska/serbiska (BKS) tränar samma grammatiska struktur som motsvarande bilderböcker på svenska gör. Syftet är även att granska huruvida böckerna i föreliggande studie går att rekommendera som träningsmaterial för barn med språkliga svårigheter.En kontrastiv analys mellan BKS och svenska har genomförts av totalt tre bilderböcker. Böckerna i studien innehåller skillnader mellan BKS och svenska inom de flesta grammatiska kategorier och stämmer väl överrens med vad som beskrivits i litteraturen.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to study, describe andimprove the understanding of voluntary driven libraries. How doesthe library staff view their role? How is the library operationworking in respect of economy, organization structure and systemsof rules? Research methods I used were semistructured interviewsand document research.The theoretical framework was based on Joacim Hansson´sdiscussion about libraries in a local community, Henning Bang´sdiscussion about organization culture and the Swedishgovernment´s non- profit advisory group`s discussion aboutvoluntary work.The results of this study shows that the library staff are enthusiastsmotivated by a wish to spread literature to people who find itdifficult to visit municipal libraries. Other motives for theirvoluntary work is the opportunity for being a part of a socialcommunity, to be surrounded by books and to activate body andsenses. The results of this study also shows that the voluntarylibrary system differ from the traditional, municipal library systemconcerning economy, organization structure and set of rules..

Examensarbetet presenterar ett förslag till stadsomvandling på Långebro, som är ett centralt beläget verksamhetsområde sydost om Kristianstad centrum. Föreslaget ska fungera som underlag och inspirationskälla för att visa hur området kan nyexploateras såvida de stora och störande anläggningarna i området flyttas ut till stadens periferi, där de en gång förlades. Nu har staden växt och området har god potential att integrerads med Kristianstads centrum. Målet för det nedgångna och lågexploaterade verksamhetsområdet har varit att skapa en måttfull, vacker och attraktiv funktionsblandad stadsdel med mark för bostäder, arbetsplatser, handel och rekreation. Områdets närhet till Kristianstads centrum har gjort att innerstadens utformning av kvarter, parker, torg och rumsbildningar har varit förebild för den nya stadsdelen. Planförslagets har däremot vägt upp centrumets nackdelar med för få grönytor och för få varierande bostadsalternativ. Resultatet blev ett planförslag innehållande ca 2.500 bostäder med varierande husutformning, två nya boulevarder dit mer kommers med liv och rörelse förläggs, kajpromenad längs med Helge å för att öka vattenkontakten, ett torg, flera parker samt ett ?park and ride? tåg.

Denna uppsats syftar till att se hur Nacka kommun styr sina bibliotek i offentlig och privat regi och om det finns en skillnad i synsättet på bibliotekets samhällsuppdrag mellan biblioteken som påverkar hur dessa tolkar och implementerar de krav som kommunen ställer. En förstudie gjordes i form av en observation på respektive bibliotek samt intervju med en ombudsman och en utredare för facket DIK för att få större inblick i ämnet. Intervjuer med respondenter från ett bibliotek som drivs i privat regi och ett offentligt bibliotek genomfördes samt en intervju med en utvärderingsexpert hos Nacka kommun. Informationen från dessa intervjuer analyserades sedan efter de utvalda organisationsteorier som valts ut efter uppsatsens syfte. Resultatet av analysen visade på en skillnad i synsättet hos respektive bibliotek både på ett organisatoriskt plan och i det utbud bibliotek erbjuder till medborgarna.

The explosion of new digital media puts pressure for developments within copyright law both in Sweden and internationally. These developments are taking place on two different international areas: (1) WIPO which is a part of the UN family and (2) the EU where a new directive on copyright law is being prepared and probably implemented during 2001. The aim of this thesis is twofold: (1) to study which considerations libraries must make when handling the new digital media both under today's copyright laws and under those which are being developed internationally. (2) What will be the consequences, for Swedish libraries, if the new EU-directive on copyright law is implemented in Sweden? By analysing current copyright laws, international treaties and the proposal for a new EU-directive as well as the national debate the thesis brings attention to a number of central issues for libraries.

Syftet med vår uppsats är att utreda den pedagogiska potentialen i olika typer av arkiv. Vi undersöker hur och om arkiven kan bli en pedagogisk resurs samt hur arkiven tillgängliggör sig gentemot skolan. Med hjälp av arkivens styrdokument och intervjuer analyserar vi och jämför det pedagogiska arbetet och satsningarna hos arkiven. Begreppet historiemedvetande spelar en central roll i uppsatsen och i undersökningen analyseras och redogörs för hur arkivarierna och arkivpedagogerna ser på begreppet historiemedvetande. Vidare refereras och diskuteras den aktuella debatten kring detta centrala begrepp och dess roll i gällande kursplaner och läroplan.

The aim of this study is to look at censorship and attempted censorship of books about gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual (GLBT) people in public libraries in the USA. People from the public can submit formal challenges to a book at the library when they find the material offensive which can lead to those books being taken away from the library shelves. The questions asked are why GLBT- literature is being challenged, and sometimes banned, and how do the libraries deal with the challenges to the books.It is nowadays the people from the public, rather than the government or the librarians that are behind many cases of removal of books with homosexual themes. The study presents some of the fictional GLBT- literature that has been cause for much controversy in the USA. All the five examples mentioned are children?s books concerning GLBT- themes and are among the most challenged books in American libraries in the past twenty years.

The aim of our Master´s thesis is to investigate the development of the different libraries in the former communities of Flisby and Lofta during the former part of the twentieth century. We ask the following questions:How did the libraries in Flisby and Lofta develop between the years of 1905 and 1952?How can we understand the libraries? dependency of funding of different kinds? We have used case study as a method, and we have adopted a source criticism approach. We have mainly used our local archives and among other things we have investigated various sorts of protocols, annual reports, auditor?s reports and the accounts that were sent to the Board of Education.

This thesis studies if public libraries in Sweden have taken part ofinformation regarding the Swedish government policy that publicareas are to be made accessible by 2010. Also studied is thesignificance of information and resources on the execution ofaccessibility adaptations at public libraries.The analysis uses Lennart Lundquist?s theory of implementation ofpublic policies, that the person executing the policy needs tounderstand, be able to and want to in order for the policy to besuccessfully executed. The study was carried out through a surveyand the thesis focuses on the factors of understanding and beingable to.The survey was sent by email to all 290 municipal libraries inSweden with an answering frequency of 65%. The results arepresented in table format with explanations.The thesis finds that a clear majority of respondents have hadaccess to information about accessibility adaptations, but thatmuch fewer consider the information clear enough.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate and increase the understanding of a present function of today´s public library, namely the function of meeting place; here called the social function or social space. Two small town libraries are included in the study, and the questions examined are:How is this function described at the two libraries and what similarities and differences are there between the two? How can one describe the relation between how the library as social space is described in research and at the libraries? The theoretical framework used in examining these questions, consists of three different discourses in culture policy (the discourse of state, market and civil society) and theories on civil society and the public library. A summary of current research makes visible eight different aspects of the public library as a social space. These aspects functions as parts of the theoretical framework as well.

Syftet med undersökningen är att synliggöra barns och vuxnas uppfattning om barnboken. Vi vill få kunskap om vad föräldrar, pedagoger och bibliotekarier har för roll genom att delge barn den kunskap och det innehåll som barnboken ger. När viss undersökning visar att barnbokslån går ner och annan undersökning visar att barnboken är viktig för barn, både språkligt och socialt, vill vi sätta detta i fokus.Metoden grundar sig på kvalitativa studier genom enkäter med intervjufrågor till föräldrar, pedagoger och kommunens bibliotekarie samt intervjuer av barn på våra arbetsplatser. Undersökningen sätter vi i perspektiv till våra styrdokument Läroplanen för förskolan 1998 samt literatur vi anser relevant för vårt examensarbete.Slutsatsen vi har dragit av genomförda undersökningar är att pedagoger och föräldrar samt biblioteken har ett stort ansvar när det gäller barnboken och varför den behövs. Det finns olika vägar att gå för att väcka barns intresse och hur vi gör är upp till varje vuxen att ta beslut om - huvudsaken är att vi läser för barn.

Att göra böcker i digitala format är inte längre någon nyhet då det har förekommit länge. Den svenska marknaden har dock inte förflyttat fokus från den traditionella fysiska boken till de digitala formaten ännu. Den nya tekniken har potential att förändra marknaden och göra den mer kommersiell med fler alternativ till den traditionella boken och flera amerikanska storföretag har utvecklat affärsmodeller som utnyttjar detta. Den amerikanska försäljningen av e-böcker har under år 2012 gått om försäljningen för inbundna böcker. I Sverige var marknaden för e-böcker i början av 2012 inte större än 1,5 procent av bokmarknaden.För de svenska författare och bokförlag som vill utforska kommersiella strategier för utgivning av e-böcker står främst nordamerikanska och några få svenska företag till buds med olika alternativ för utgivningen.

The purpose of this thesis is to determine how well a student is prepared as a future librarian at BHS in Borås, when it comes to serving individuals with hearing disabilities at the libraries. The theory and combined methods is that of discourse theory, interviews and Webb searches. The source material for this thesis comprises course material from 2002 and 2003, with the main focus on the spring term 2003 and on what is called the users perspective användarperspektivet. The study is divided into two parts: firstly, to determine the students expected knowledge and his/her future professional identity through this knowledge. The user groups that were mentioned to the students during the education were also linked to the students knowledge.

The aim of the study was to examine how the public libraries participate in the integration of immigrants in the Malmö-/Lund region. Librarians and immigrants were interviewed about the services offered by the libraries in the area of multiculturalism and what kind of service that is requested by the immigrants. The interviews also included possibilities to contribute to increased knowledge among the native Swedish people about different cultures represented among immigrants in Sweden. From the qualitative analyses it is concluded that the libraries represented in the study contribute to the integration of immigrants. The respondents gave multiple examples of the libraries? usefulness in the integration process by offering immigrants possibilities to develop their knowledge in the Swedish language, and also to find information about the Swedish society and culture.

The aim of this thesis is to examine young adults? attitudes towards libraries marketing in social media. Libraries mainly use social media to reach out to young adults. However, young adults mainly use social media to communicate with their friends. The question that arises is if young adults are interested in communicating with organizations such as libraries on social media.
