SAMMANFATTNINGDilaterad kardiomyopati (DCM) är en ärftlig, primär hjärtmuskelsjukdom som är mycket vanligt förekommande hos dobermann. Sjukdomens förlopp har tre stadier. Det första stadiet innebär att sjukdomen föreligger men kan enbart påvisas vid histologisk undersökning av hjärtmuskelvävnad. Det prekliniska stadiet innebär att inga sjukdomstecken ses hos hunden, men förändringar, såsom hög förekomst av kammarextraslag och dilatation av vänster kammare, kan hittas med hjälp av elektrokardiografi (EKG) och ekokardiografi. I det overta (kliniska stadiet) uppvisar hunden sjukdomstecken som nedsatt arbetsförmåga, trötthet, hosta samt kachexi.

Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is the second most common heart disease in dogs. Since the disease is seen more frequently in certain breeds, among them Newfoundland dogs, a genetic factor is suspected. This study was partly undertaken to investigate whether there is a significant sex predilection regarding DCM. Moreover, the difference in mean age of death between male dogs and females with DCM was investigated, as well as males and females dying from DCM compared to dying from other reasons (i.e. without DCM).

Det har även visat sig att BNP kan användas för att uppskatta prognosen hos hundar med kronisk klaffdegeneration (Chetboul et al, 2009; Moonarmart et al, 2010).Kronisk klaffdegeneration är den vanligaste hjärtsjukdomarna hos hund och drabbar fram för allt små till medelstora hundar från medelåldern och uppåt (Kogure, 1980). Atrioventrikulärklaffarna, vanligtvis mitralis, blir nodulärt förtjockade med inlagring av glukosaminoglykaner och fibrosvävnad vilket leder till klaffinsufficiens.

The main objective of this study was to evaluate animal welfare situation in Ethiopia during slaughter and to investigate chain activities between animal markets and Kera abattoir in Addis Abeba. In total, 442 animals were observed within 52 groups of cattle; both ox and calves with different breeds. The study was divided into four different sets of data collection; behavioural observations, recording of slaughter process, observation during transport and interview. The questions are:What do the dialogues say about the convention, the behaviour, manners and the form of address? What does it say about young men and women and about the marriage? Are the dialogues supported by the content in the biographies? Did Jane Austen really write realistic? METHOD AND MATERIAL The method was to read the novels and then the biographies.

Tidigare forskning har visat att selektiv uppmärksamhet (selective attention; SA) mot hotfulla stimuli kan predicera emotionella responser på stressfyllda händelser. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka sambandet mellan sårbarhet för ångest i form av SA och fysiologiska samt självskattade stressreaktioner på en laboratoriestressor. Ett negativt samband mellan fysiologisk stressreaktion och SA samt ett positivt samband mellan självskattad stressreaktion och SA förväntades. Skillnaden i hudkonduktansreaktivitet (skin conductance reactivity; SCR) på subliminalt presenterade hotfulla och neutrala stimuli hos 41 försökspersoner utgjorde mått på SA i denna studie. Attempts made within planning and landscape architecture to catalyst the integration process have mainly been focused on structural measures, such as residential policies. As for outdoor environments, non-verbal casual encounters in the shape of crossing paths are assumed to lie at the heart of urban social integration.The aim of the thesis is to question this assumption and, as the thesis will show, there is literature supporting this aim. Looking at the works of Gordon Allport, Lewis Coser and some of their followers, I find intercultural contact to require more complex ways of interaction in order to reduce prejudice and to generate tolerance and understanding.

Syfte:           Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att studera hur personer med hjärtsvikt kan få en förbättrad nutrition genom egenvård.Metod:         Studien genomfördes som en litteraturöversikt. Artiklarna söktes via databaserna CINAHL och PubMed.Resultat:      Studiens resultat innehöll 10 artiklar med kvantitativ ansats. En förutsättning för att personer med hjärtsvikt ska klara sin egenvård och ges möjlighet att förbättra sin nutrition är utbildning. Utbildningsmetoder som i föreliggande litteraturstudie har visat sig fungera är att kombinera skriftlig och muntlig utbildning. Undervisningen bör innehålla information om vilken typ av mat personer med hjärtsvikt behöver äta samt varför.

The 22q11.2 deletion syndrome is a common genetic disorder that affects for example the heart, palate, immune system and hearing and therefore affects a child?s development. The purpose of this study was to investigate the proportion of children (0-18 years) with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome who have a hearing loss. A retrospective study of 103 children diagnosed with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome was conducted by medical records. Of the 103 children, 51 were boys and 52 were girls.
