En hörselnedsättning är en kommunikationsstörning som starkt påverkar en bebis utveckling på många områden, inte bara ljudperception och talad kommunikation. I Sverige screenas idag alla bebisar redan på BB, för att så tidigt som möjligt upptäcka medfödda skador. Dessa metoder har dock informationsbegränsningar angående hörselnedsättningens grad och frekvensberoende. När bebisar är ett halvår gamla kan den observerande audiometriska metoden Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) användas för att utreda hörselnedsättningen. Metoden baseras på att en audionom gör en subjektiv bedömning om bebisen reagerar och vänder huvudet till följd av presenterade ljudstimuli med känt frekvensinnehåll och känd ljudtrycksnivå.

Aim: The aims of this essay were first to see if there were any factors that could have an inpact on participating in supportive care groups and activities after a prostatic cancer diagnosis. The second aim was to examine what kind of support the patients would chose. Methods: Data was collected with a survey handed out to the prostate cancer patients visiting the urologist reception at the hospital in Uppsala, during two weeks in the fall of 2011. Main Results: Men show very little interest in participating in supportive care groups and activities. When asked to chose which kind of support they could consider, individual sessions and group sessions were the most common choice. Conclusion: Men diagnosed with prostate cancer chose not to participate in supportive care. A number of studies in human medicine has documented positive effects of whole body vibration treatment in humans. The Vitafloor system, witch is based on treatment of horses with vibration, has the purpose to be used in training of healthy horses and as rehabilitation for horses with injuries in their musculosceletal system. The purpose of this study was to analyse what happens with a clinically healthy horse during treatment with Vitafloor. The methods used is mainly thermography before and after treatment, but also blood samples, measurement of rectal temperature, heart rate, clinical examination and observation of psychic reactions has been done. Statistic significant changes in skin temperature in hoofs and fetlocks of front legs has been observed after treatment with Vitafloor. Analyzing of the blood samples showed a tendency for decrease in Kalium, and two of the horses had changes in CK. No negative effect has been observed with the treatment of horses with Vitafloor, and the horses seems to like the treatment. .

The purpose of the paper is to examine how teachers in preschool is working with language stimulation for the prevention of difficulties in reading and writing before school starts. The method that was used to illuminate the problem is a qualitative interview. A specialpedagog and six preschool teacher, which is specifically focused on language stimulation in the work with children, have been included in the study. The results indicated that preschool teacher are working a lot with language stimulation. They work mostly with children throughout the group, to encourage and provide children with the tools to be able to communicate with each other and staff.

As a guitarbuilder it is an advantage if you can control and understand what is creating the character of the tone. To approach this vast jungle of variables that controls the tone in a guitar, I built two guitars and in one, guitar 2, reduced the thickness of soundboard, back and sides.The purpose was to compare the guitars and establish if there was a significant difference and what it was, in the guitars ability to produce sound. The thought was also to try the thesis: loud but short, long but moderate tone. Also if a lighter built guitar has an advantage in producing a loud but short ton and vice versa.The instruments has been examined by five guitarist, one guitarbuilder and a professor in Speech, music and hearing at KTH in Stockholm.The relative obvious conclusion is that guitar 2 is a bit louder and has a clearer base and treble but the more part of the guitarists fancied guitar 1 better. This one has got more mass fore the tone to stay alive with.

Studien inriktade sig på individer vars falltrauma resulterat i höftfraktur. Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur män och kvinnor upplever delaktighet i det vardagliga livet efter en höftfraktur. Urvalet bestod av tio deltagare, med jämn fördelning av könen. Studien hade en kvalitativ ansats och bearbetades med innehållsanalys. Resultatet visade att det förekom tydliga aktivitetsinskränkningar som med förde en ökas isolering och socialt tillbakadragande, vilket bidrog till att deltagarna upplevde minskad delaktighet i vardagen.

En svensk version av HINT (Hearing In Noise Test) har tidigare tagits fram för att fastställaförmågan att höra i tal i brus. Målet med den här studien var att se om testet kunde användastill barn och validera det. Vilka av meningarna gick att använda, skulle några utgå och var detnågon skillnad mellan pojkars och flickors resultat?Signalbrusförhållande för 50 % rätt uppfattade meningar mättes på 42 barn (18 pojkar, 24flickor) med svenska som första språk, i åldrarna 6-11 år, för att fastställa medelvärdena i deolika åldersgrupperna och att jämföra resultaten i varje grupp och med en vuxengruppsresultat och validera ett normalmaterial för svenska HINT.Statistisk analys indikerar att signalbrusförhållandet minskar med ålder och närmar sigvuxenvärden hos barn över 8 år. Ingen signifikant inlärningseffekt hittades.

We would also like to analyze and reflect on how and to what extent these shops use the customer?s senses when trying to influence buying behaviour. Method We have combined a deductive and inductive approach.

The aim of this university paper was to understand how eight former clients at Staple reformatory had experienced their stay there. The clients at Staple are young people between 13-20 years old, both boys and girls.The basic questions were: What picture do the clients have of the treatment they received?What has been, from their perspective, the most important during their stay? Do the clients think the time spent at Staple has helped them? And how do they describe their change, if there was any?We gathered the information from the youngsters with qualitative interviews based on a manual divided into covering different themesWe found that the time at Staple had been very positive for all the former clients that we interviewed. They described the relations with the staff at Staple as central for their rehabilitation. The most important task for the people that work there is to set a good example for the client, and to be role models.

Shopping malls surface and its atmosphere becomes essential in the design of a mall so it will be attractive enough. Sensory marketing can be an appropriate method to stand out from the crowd and attract visitors. Sensory marketing is a process of engaging visitor?s senses to create a strong relationship between the brand and visitors.

Flera studier har pekat på viktiga faktorer för att hälsa och återgång till yrkeslivet ska vara möjliga men hur detta i praktiken ska ske och vilka rehabiliteringsåtgärder som är mest effektiva är otillräckligt belagt. Studien har genom intervjuer med sju kvinnor med stressrelaterade störningar granskat hur en tillfriskningsprocess kan upplevas och vad som upplevs som meningsfull hjälp i samband med den. Deras tillfriskning har inneburit en kamp och ett starkt personligt engagemang. Beslutsamhet och målinriktning var förutsättningar för att få ta del av rehabiliteringsåtgärder. Kvinnorna i studien har upplevt ett stort personligt ansvarstagande för sin tillfriskning men de har också betonat vikten av bekräftelse från en förstående omgivning.

I förskrivningsprocessen förtydligas det ansvar som är förbundet med förskrivning av hjälpmedel. Ett viktigt delmoment i denna process är uppföljning och utvärdering. Genom uppföljning ges det möjlighet till reflektion över verkställda åtgärder och förhoppningsvis en utveckling av den arbetsterapeutiska kompetensen. Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilken uppfattning arbetsterapeuter i kommunal verksamhet hade kring uppföljning av förskrivna hjälpmedel och hur det faktiskt utfördes. Datainsamlingen skedde med hjälp av intervjuer utifrån egenkonstruerat intervjuinstrument och undersökningsgruppen bestod av 12 distriktsarbetsterapeuter.

Beröringsmetoder och massage har använts under tusentals år och i många olika kulturer för att uppnå lugn och ro. På senare år har intresset för beröringsmetoder i vård och omsorg ökat. Vid en funktionsnedsättning kan beröringen minska och då uppstå en beröringsbrist. Syftet med studien var att beskriva och belysa Taktil Stimulering och dess effekter på personer med utvecklingsstörning i daglig verksamhet ur arbetsterapeutens perspektiv. För att ta reda på fyra arbetsterapeuters upplevelser av taktil stimulering användes en kvalitativ ansats med semistrukturerade intervjuer.
