Tonala skillnader mellan två gitarrer med olika kroppstjocklek

As a guitarbuilder it is an advantage if you can control and understand what is creating the character of the tone. To approach this vast jungle of variables that controls the tone in a guitar, I built two guitars and in one, guitar 2, reduced the thickness of soundboard, back and sides.The purpose was to compare the guitars and establish if there was a significant difference and what it was, in the guitars ability to produce sound. The thought was also to try the thesis: loud but short, long but moderate tone. Also if a lighter built guitar has an advantage in producing a loud but short ton and vice versa.The instruments has been examined by five guitarist, one guitarbuilder and a professor in Speech, music and hearing at KTH in Stockholm.The relative obvious conclusion is that guitar 2 is a bit louder and has a clearer base and treble but the more part of the guitarists fancied guitar 1 better. This one has got more mass fore the tone to stay alive with.

Utvärdering av svenska HINT-listor på normalhörande barn i åldrarna 6-11 år

En svensk version av HINT (Hearing In Noise Test) har tidigare tagits fram för att fastställaförmågan att höra i tal i brus. Målet med den här studien var att se om testet kunde användastill barn och validera det. Vilka av meningarna gick att använda, skulle några utgå och var detnågon skillnad mellan pojkars och flickors resultat?Signalbrusförhållande för 50 % rätt uppfattade meningar mättes på 42 barn (18 pojkar, 24flickor) med svenska som första språk, i åldrarna 6-11 år, för att fastställa medelvärdena i deolika åldersgrupperna och att jämföra resultaten i varje grupp och med en vuxengruppsresultat och validera ett normalmaterial för svenska HINT.Statistisk analys indikerar att signalbrusförhållandet minskar med ålder och närmar sigvuxenvärden hos barn över 8 år. Ingen signifikant inlärningseffekt hittades.

Patients with COPD (chronically obstuctive pulmonary disease) often experience acute episodes of the disease. On these occasions it is usual that the ambulance nurse is the patients first contact in the care. The purpose of this study is to describe patients' experiences in acute condition of the disease COPD and the Pre-hospital nursing. The method was systematic literature review with content analysis. The results show four prominent themes on the basis of patients' experiences.

Picturing Words and Spelling out Pictures Semantic, phonological and spatial aspects of working memory capacity and processing and their implication for information layout

This study investigates verbal and visuospatial memory strategies used by individuals with perceptual or cognitive disabilities. The groups concentrated on in this study are deaf individuals who are native sign language users and individuals with dyslexia. The study comprises an experiment and an in-depth study in which a pre-test and a questionnaire were used. Nine deaf signers, two persons with dyslexia and 12 persons without any perceptual or cognitive constraints participated. Of these 23 persons, seven were selected to take part in the in-depth study.

Today green tree retention, together with leaving dead wood, is a common practice with the aim to reduce negative impacts on biodiversity and environment due to clear-felling. To better understand whether this conservation practice also makes a long-term difference, it is important to know what happens to these trees after harvest. Few studies have made an assessment of what happens to retention trees over a longer time period. In this study I inventoried retention trees that were left at clear-cuts six, twelve and eighteen years ago. I carried out a re-inventory of 57 retention patches (divided into free-standing tree groups, small swamp forests and edge zones) and free standing dead trees, spread over 25 previous clear-cuts in central Sweden.

Lärare med hörselproblem samt deras sätt att hantera detta - en intervjustudie

Denna rapport var en kvalitativ empirisk intervjustudie där fyra lärare deltog som alla hade någon form av hörselproblematik. Syftet var att undersöka hur lärare med hörselskador upplever buller i den egna arbetsmiljön. Vidare var syftet att undersöka lärarnas sätt att hantera den problematik som hörselskadan medför i deras arbetsmiljö. Informanterna utsattes för, i deras mening, höga ljudnivåer mellan 1-4 timmar per arbetsdag. När det gällde hur hörselproblemen påverkade dem i deras yrkesutövande upplevde lärarna att det medförde det vissa positiva effekter, då genom en ökad disciplin bland eleverna samt minskade ljudnivåer i klassrummet.

Behandlingsrelationensbetydelse inom öppenvård

Purpose: To examine how a tour operator works to implement sustainability in the development of the business, as well as what significance it has to consumers in selecting a tour operator. Furthermore, the purpose is to provide recommendations on how tour operators should work to communicate their commitments.Methodology: The research strategy applied is a case study which follows an abductive approach. Qualitative and quantitative methods were applied to complement each other. A semi-structured interview with a tour operator and a consumer survey constitute the empirical foundation.Conclusion: The conclusion of the study is that consumers show a positive attitude towards CSR, but do not see it as a determinant when choosing a tour operator. Thus, CSR does not constitute a competitive advantage against competitors.

Det sociala stödets betydelse vid en sorgeprocess

Någon gång i livet kommer de flesta individer tvingas möta på de svårigheter som en sorg för med sig. Sorg är en reaktion på en förlust. Syftet med studien var att belysa stödformer som kan hjälpa individer i deras sorgeprocess. Där sorgeprocessen i detta fall relaterar till förlusten av en närstående. Deltagarna var 23 stycken kvinnor mellan åldrarna 19-62 som hade upplevt en sorgeprocess till följd av närståendes bortgång.

Lost in translation? En empirisk undersökning av användningen av tesaurer vid queryexpansion inom Cross Language Information Retrieval

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the performance of queries that is expanded before translation in comparison with only translation of the queries using a bilingual dictionary, and also to see if the number of terms that was used to expand the queries was of any importance i. e. if many terms from a thesaurus helped or destroyed a query. To answer these questions i used two online thesauri, Rogets thesaurus and Merriam-Webster Online and one printed bilingual dictionary, Norstedts English-Swedish dictionary. Even though the number of examined queries is too small to draw any definite conclusions, the results suggest that expanding using a general thesaurus may have a negative effect on the queries.

Budget eller prognoser -eller både och?

Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera huruvida prognoser är ett kompletterande eller konkurrerande verktyg till budgeten på tillverkningsföretag samt hur valet av styrverktyg kan ha påverkats av företagens interna och externa förutsättningar som dess organisationsstruktur, produktion och omvärld. Företagen vi har studerat visar på att prognosen inte är en konkurrent, utan ett komplement till budgeten. Alla de studerade fallföretagen använder sig idag av de båda styrmedlen. Flera företag säger sig ha andra styrmedel än budget, men det har visat sig att dessa styrmedel skiljer sig inte mycket från den traditionella budgeten. Budgeten har blivit en institution och har rotats fast i organisationer och gör det därför mycket svårt för företag att bryta sig loss ifrån den..
