Hemoplus® (Sarstedt, Nümbrecht, Tyskland) is a guaiac-based fecal occult blood test developed for human medicine. Guaiac-based tests make use of the pseudoperoxidase activity of hemoglobin so the test is not specific for human hemoglobin and can therefore be used in veterinary medicine. Peroxidase-containing foods such as meat (hemoglobin and myoglobin) can cause false-positive results of the test. To ensure that a positive result is not caused by diet, it has been suggested that canine patients should be fed a meatless diet for a few days prior to fecal occult blood testing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of commercial dog food on guaiac-based tests. In this study fecal samples from healthy dogs were analyzed with Hemoplus®.

SyfteSyftet med den här studien var att kartlägga det upplevda ät- och träningsbeteendet hos studenter på en hälsoinriktad högskoleutbildning. Ytterligare ett syfte var att få en större förståelse för hur olika ät- och träningsbeteenden inklusive tendenser till Ortorexi samvarierar med den självupplevda hälsan- Hur ser det upplevda ät- och träningsbeteende ut hos studenterna?- Vilka skillnader i ät- och träningsbeteende finns mellan årskurserna på den hälsoinriktade utbildningen?- Vilka samband finns mellan det fysiska och psykiska hälsotillståendet och ät- och träningsbeteendet?- Hur stor andel av studenterna har ett spänt förhållningssätt till kost och träning enligt Bratmans test?MetodDetta är en kvantitativ studie där enkätundersökning använts som datainsamlingsmetod. Ett riktat bekvämlighetsurval gjordes på målgruppspopulationen och urvalsgruppen kom att bestå av 100 stycken studenter från en hälsoinriktad högskoleutbildning. Enkäten utformades efter ett redan befintligt test, Bratmans Ortorexitest.

Malassezia otitis in dogs is a common cause of visit to a veterinary service. In otitis externa due to Malassezia overgrowth the dog has a higher number of yeast organisms and/or a local inflammatory response to the micro organism. Common clinical signs include pruritus, erythema, swelling and increased exudate production. Clinical symptoms and results from cytology of ear swabs from the ear canal is the mainstay for diagnosis. Any underlying condition has to be identified and corrected to avoid relapse. The treatment options for infective otitis externa are based upon topical administration of eardrops containing antibiotics, steroids and antifungals.

Calculations of energy, noise and moisture riskassessment has been carried out.The work has resulted in the conclusion that the lightweight concrete itself is notable to isolate in the extent necessary to obtain chosen U-value of 0,1 W/m2 ° C,without getting to thick. Therefore additional insulation is needed. There are fewrelevant reference objects built with only light weight concrete.

Most of the beef production in Sweden has been integrated with milk production. Since the 1990:s, the number of dairy cows has decreased. A specialised beef production has developed in purpose to compensate for this decrease. The consumption of beef have increased in the last decade, but the Swedish production has no followed this trend. In 2004, the percentage of beef self-sufficiency in Sweden was 60 %.

In 2004, ICA launched private label meat packaged in a modified atmosphere. Consequently, many stores went from in-store cutting-up and packaging to selling centrally packaged and distributed meat. ICA is now developing a concept with fresh fish in modified atmosphere packages and needs to increase the knowledge about the market and the consumer.

Organizations are about people in interaction. Human itself is complex, and the complexity increases when people are grouped. When creating groups there is a need for a structure, an order between the people in the group. Companies have an organization - riding school is also a company and should have an organization. Many studies have been done related to the riding school but there is no documentation about organizations at riding schools, and a research is needed. The aim of the study was to clarify if riding schools in Sweden has a well considered organization.

AbstractA continuous improvement of products and production is an important goal for a modern industrial company. A small engineering group located in Sweden came in touch with the authors of this report during the spring semester of 2014. The aim of this report is, as part of the group´s ambition of improvement, to analyse ways in which the quality of component casted parts can be verified. Non-destructive testing (NDT), and methods to use it for quality control, is the main focus of this report. However, fields such as material standards, component casting and quality engineering are analysed as well.

Bakgrund: Tillgänglighet till service och resurser i närmiljön har betydelse för människors hälsa och livskvalitet. Äldre människor är särskilt beroende av god tillgänglighet i närområdet då det utgör den huvudsakliga vistelsemiljön för många äldre, samtidigt som åldrandet ofta medför en försämrad rörelseförmåga. Begreppet tillgänglighet innefattar flera faktorer, exempelvis avstånd och antal faciliteter som finns inom ett visst område, hur bekvämt och obehindrat man kan ta sig till faciliteterna och i vilken utsträckning faciliteterna uppfyller invånarnas behov. God tillgänglighet till faciliteter i närmiljön som främjar äldres hälsa och höjer deras livskvalitet förbättrar möjligheterna att uppnå ett gott åldrande.Syfte: Syftet med undersökningen var att beskriva tillgängligheten i närmiljön för äldre som bor i seniorboende samt studera skillnader i tillgänglighet i olika närområden.
