Background: The district nurse's competence description is comprehensive and sets high standards for a wide range of skills. The population's need for health care will rise according to life expectancy, lifestyle diseases and multi-morbidity increases. To graduate as a district nurse, 75 higher education credits are needed and after graduation, the district nurse must have developed both personal qualities and gained skills that makes it possible to work in primary care, child / school health care and home care. Aim: The aim of this study is to highlight the newly qualified district nurse experiences in developing professional identity and describe on how this development affects nursing.Method: In the pilot study a qualitative method with an inductive approach was used, and data collection was made by four semi-structured interviews. The interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis.

Ett av Sveriges största folkhälsoproblem just nu är den dramatiskt ökande sjukfrånvaronpå våra arbetsplatser, vilket drabbar både individer och samhället i stort. Det är därför viktigt att skapa hälsofrämjande arbetsplatser. Studiens syfte var att undersöka vilka faktorer personalen på en kommunal förvaltning anser kan bidra till att deras arbetsplatser blir mer hälsofrämjande. Vidare syftade studien till att undersöka personalens syn på hur förändring och lärande kan ske på deras förvaltning för att skapa hälsofrämjande arbetsplatser. Datainsamlingen har skett genom fyra fokusgruppsintervjuer med anställda inom en kommunal förvaltning.

BACKGROUND: The relationship between physical activity and health versusphysical inactivity and poor health are well known. Ethnic minorities are generallyless physically active than the residence country's majority population andgenerally have a poorer health status. The study has a health promotion perspective.PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to describe factors that influencephysical activity among middle-aged and older persons, belonging to an ethnicminority. METHOD: The method used to answer the purpose is a literature-basedstudy. The searching for literature has been carried out in a systematic way.Scientific articles to base the results on, has been gathered from various databases.Included articles were analyzed with a qualitative content analysis and identifiedsimilarities and differences in the content were divided into themes and categories.RESULTS: Recurrent themes in the literature, that influence physical activity inmiddle-aged and older people that belong to an ethnic minority, was support, healthand illness, external factors, internal factors, community related and socioeconomicfactors and ignorance and beliefs.

Gross motor skills among Swedish pupils. An overview of functional motor abilities among Swedish children and adolescents.IntroductionPhysical Education (PE) teachers in Sweden have noticed that pupils are getting worse in their ability to manage gross motor skills and in their aerobic practice. The gross motor skills and coordinative skills are the solid ground for sports and other health activities. If not developing their gross motor skill children tends to avoid taking part in games and sports. The benefits of sports and outdoor activities such as social and health benefits can therefore be missed.

Bröstcancer är idag en vanlig sjukdom bland kvinnor och cytostatikabehandlingen är den behandling många upplever som påfrestande. Syftet med studien är att beskriva kvinnor med bröstcancers upplevelse och livskvalité under och efter behandling med cytostatika. I studien har dessa kvinnors livskvalité, välbefinnande, lidande och livsvärld belysts i samband med cytostatikabehandling. En kvalitativ litteraturstudie inspirerad av Graneheim och Lundman gjordes utifrån sju vetenskapliga artiklar. I resultatet framkom det att kvinnor upplevde sin sjukdom och behandlingen individuellt, men att något sorts lidande alltid fanns.

Vi lever i ett mångkulturellt samhälle, och detta ställer ökade krav på sjuksköterskor när de ska vårda patienter med annan kulturell bakgrund än den egna. Den här studien syftade till att belysa några av de svårigheter sjuksköterskor kan uppleva i vården av patienter med annan kulturell bakgrund än den egna. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats. Nio artiklar valdes ut, där sjuksköterskor intervjuats om sina iakttagelser i vården av patienter med annan kulturell bakgrund än den egna. Resultatet visade att bristande kommunikation, kulturkrockar och brist på kunskap hos sjuksköterskor var företeelser som kunde upplevas som svåra i vården av patienter med annan kulturell bakgrund än den egna.

Bakgrund: Cirka 50 000 svenskar insjuknar årligen i cancer. Cancerbeskedet påverkar såväl den sjukdomsdrabbade som de närstående. Därför är det viktigt att tillräckligt känslomässigt stöd och information ges även till de närstående. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att belysa närståendes behov av information och känslomässigt stöd då anhörig drabbats av cancer. Metod: Studien bygger på fem artiklar med kvalitativ forskningsansats och två artiklar med kvantitativ forskningsansats.

This thesis deals with the ethical attitudes of professionals working with Methadone or Subutex assisted rehabilitation, concerning the constructed guidelines and directions from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. The central themes in the thesis are: 1. What do professionals think of the rules concerning admissions to the rehabilitation programme? 2. Risk factors associated with obesity may include breed, age, castration or high energy intake relative to energy consumption. The consequences of obesity are believed to be metabolic and hormonal changes, as well as cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, orthopedic problems, tumors and premature death. Prevention and early detection of obesity leads to better health care.

Ofta blir den demensdrabbade tvungen att flytta till ett boende. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa vad som bidrar till en god relation mellan anhöriga till och vårdare av demensdrabbade, som bor på boende. Metod: En litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats gjordes.

Nöjdhet med livet består av många komponenter, tre som nämns ofta är ekonomi, sysselsättning och det sociala livet. Cancer is one of the most feared diseases in veterinary medicine today, and the incidence is higher than ever due to the fact that our companion animals live longer then they did ten to twenty years ago. Cancer is also one of the most common causes of mortality in older companion animals. This literature review will be about two of the currently most common form of cancer treatment of companion animals in Swedish animal hospitals, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. There will also be a section of general nursing care for cancer patients. The section of chemotherapy will describe the indications for choosing chemotherapy, the way to administrate chemotherapeutic drugs, describe specific chemotherapeutic drugs, potential side effects of chemotherapy, and how to handle and store chemotherapeutic drugs safely. The section of radiation therapy will describe the current devices for delivering radiation therapy, describe the indications for choosing radiation therapy and describe potential side effects that radiation therapy may cause.

Africa is expected to go through a rapid urbanization over the next four decades and the demand for food is increasing in the rapidly growing urban and peri-urban (UPU) areas. Keeping livestock in urban areas is in particular associated with health hazards. This is due to close interaction between humans and animals, and it has been shown that zoonotic diseases are increasing in urban areas. The benefits of urban and peri-urban agriculture (UPA) are related to improved food security, in particular among low-income groups. Apart from the negative public health impact of zoonotic diseases, animal disease could have a devastating impact on the economy and food security of many households in these areas. In the present study, three important endemic diseases, including brucellosis, salmonellosis and Bovine viral diarrhea (BVD), were analyzed in regard to seroprevalence and risk factors.
