Water is our most important provision and its quality is above all dependent on the geological conditions in the area from where it is extracted. Due to geological properties there are certain areas with an elevated risk of high uranium levels in the ground water, which in turn constitutes a risk for human health. Consumption of water that contains a high concentration of uranium implies a health risk due to the chemical characteristics of uranium. Livsmedelsverket (The National Food Administration) and Socialstyrelsen (The National Board of Health and Welfare) therefore recommend that precautionary measures should be taken when the uranium concentration in ground water exceeds 15 micrograms per litre. In particular, drinking water collected from wells in areas with uranium-rich bedrock may have a harmfully high level of uranium. One of the wells of the Ärla water purification plant, located near Eskilstuna, Sweden, contains water that exceeds the guideline of 15 micrograms per litre. One interesting technique for removing uranium from drinking water is adsorption to reactive filter materials.

Syftet med denna studie är att ta reda på hur de privata och offentliga vårdcentralerna i Hallands län hanterar sina varumärken. Genom denna studie kan vi se hur vårdcentralerna utmärker sig från varandra i vårdmarknaden samt vilka likheter och skillnader som finns mellan de två olika verksamhetsformernas, de privata och de offentliga, hantering av varumärke.Studien är baserad på en kvalitativ metod och det empiriska materialet har inhämtats genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Sex vårdcentraler, varav tre offentliga och tre privata, från Hallands län har deltagit i undersökningen. Resultatet har sedan analyserats med hjälp av tidigare forskning och relevanta begrepp inom områdena varumärkesuppbyggnad och varumärkeskommunikation.Resultatet visar att varumärkesarbete är något som både de offentliga och de privata vårdcentralerna, medvetet och omedvetet, arbetar med. Vissa vårdcentraler anser att varumärkesarbete är något som är viktigt för deras verksamhet medan andra vårdcentraler ser det som mindre viktigt.

Bakgrund: Prostatektomi är en av de vanligaste behandlingar mot prostatacancer. En av biverkningarna som majoriteten av de män som går igenom ingreppet är urininkontinens. Syfte: Att belysa hur det är att leva med urininkontinens efter en prostatektomi på grund av prostatacancer. Metod: Det är en kvalitativ litteraturstudie baserad på nio artiklar som analyserades utifrån Graneheim och Lundmans modell. Resultat: Män med urininkontinens upplever sitt tillstånd ovärdigt och skäms över att läcka urin.

Due to a globalised world business travel is flourishing. This paper examines how middle level executives, travelling a lot in their work at a multi-national company, feel about their travel. It looks for links between business travel and work satisfaction among them. A short presentation of the patterns of business travel and relevant motivational and stress theories is given. Data for the paper is collected using a survey (78 participants) and interviews.

Background: Hypochondriasis is associated with marked impairments in physical and psychological functioning, work performance and increased health care utilization. The prevalence among medical outpatients is estimated to be between 4,2 % and 6,3 %. Notwithstanding there is deficient research in this area. Until recently no specific treatment has been clearly demonstrated to be effective. Objective: The aim was to investigate experiences of what it is like to live with hypochondriasis, but also to examine different treatment options.

These problems however would have a more structural and economical cause, dealing with these problems would fall outside the boundaries of the competence of European competition legislation.

Bröstcancer är ett av de största hälsoproblem för kvinnor i Sverige. Syftet med studien var att belysa bröstcancersjuka kvinnors uppfattning av ömsesidig förståelse i det vårdande mötet med vårdgivaren vid cytostatikabehandlingen. Studien baserades på tre självbiografiska skönlitterära böcker och materialet bearbetades genom en innehållsanalys. Resultaten visade en majoritet av uppfattningar som bekräftade den ömsesidiga förståelsen i mötet. Denna bekräftelse framtonas av en situation som skapar trygghet.

A cattle producer that buys calves that are younger than six months to the herd should have a starter stable to prevent infection spreading in the herd. According to the Swedish animal welfare regulation there has to be a starter stable if more than 50 calves that are younger than four months are bought in yearly to the herd. The aim of the study was to improve the knowledge about bovine buildings and management of starter stables to obtain optimal weight gain and health of the calves. The hypothesis 1) The younger the calves are when purchased, the higher the calf mortality and 2) Purchasing calves from a high number of herds involves a higher risk of calf Health problems and calf mortality were tested in the study. The objective of the study was to give advices by way of presenting ideal solutions of how a starter stable should be constructed and managed. A field study was done during June to September 2008 to collect knowledge and experience from existing starter stables.

The forest industry is anonymous among the young people of today. Many youngsters do not know what the forest industry has to offer. As a result of this, many schools and forest have a weak recruitment. This is not a problem for Sweden and the forest industry only, many other businesses companies suffer from in Sweden and other countries in Europe share the same image problem. Knowledge transfer is important since it makes it possible for co-workers to apply old solutions to new problems that arise, using knowledge that already existing within the organization.

The proportion of elderly people in Sweden is increasing. Many of these live at home and as their age increases so does the likelihood of Health problems and the need for support, medical attention and care. Personnel working with home help provide a large part of this care, including areas of home-based care that are the responsibility of the district nurse. The purpose of this paper is to describe how home-help personnel perceive their work in the area of home-based care, as their views are an important factor in the ability to provide a care system that funktions successfully. The method employed here is phenomenografic and nine subjects from a home-help group have been interviewed.

Uppsatsen är en statistisk bearbetning av material från studien Health Hunters som genomfördes i Göteborg på unga kvinnor som befann sig i en högriskgrupp för att utveckla övervikt eller fetma. Barn till överviktiga har en ökad risk för att utveckla övervikt därför är det viktigt att arbeta preventivt då behandlingsresultaten vid fetma ofta är otillräckliga. Det är viktigt att förebygga övervikt och fetma då detta kan resultera i bland annat typ II-diabetes och hjärtkärlsjukdomar samt så ger behandling av fetma och dess följdsjukdomar höga sjukvård- och samhällskostnader. Health Hunters har visat att preventivt arbete mot viktuppgång kan ge resultat. Information kring deltagarna har vi fått via Health Hunters där de fick ge information om sina vanor och genomgå mätningar.

When a person gets ill and need medical attention, his or her life changes dramatically. The patients get treatment for their symptoms. The illness and treatment have often an influence on the patient?s sexuality.

This thesis aims to show the positive effects of marketing by studying whether the regulation on direct marketing to consumers of prescription drugs today prevents to consumers accurate information and better health, and how consumers relate to the possible legalization of increased marketing through controlled and information audited webpages. Methods used in this research are qualitative method, quantitative method, documents and websites studies. The thesis fulfills the purpose as it shows the potential positive effects of an expanded marketing through pre-approved websites. It also shows a demand from the consumers' side and a need for increased awareness for more empowerment over their own health.
