Diabetes typ 2 är en av vår tids stora folksjukdomar som förväntas öka kraftigt de kommande åren. Livsstilsförändringar och egenvård är grunden i behandlingen och sjuksköterskors uppgifter är att utbilda, stödja och motivera patienterna. Syftet var att beskriva patienters och sjuksköterskors uppfattningar av sjuksköterskans hälsofrämjande roll vid diabetes typ 2. Metoden som användes var en systematisk litteraturstudie inkluderande åtta vetenskapliga artiklar. Artiklarna analyserades med innehållsanalys.

Det framkommer i bakgrunden att årligen drabbas cirka 30 000 människor av stroke och en tredjedel av dessa får afasi. Kommunikativt samspel är basen för ömsesidig förståelse inom vården och det är detta samspel afasidrabbade har svårt att få ta del av. Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur patienter med afasi upplever sin situation i vården. Metoden som användes var en kvalitativ litteraturstudie och baserades på skönlitterära böcker författade av personer som har överlevt stroke och drabbats av afasi. Analysen genomfördes enligt Graneheim och Lundmans tolkning av innehållsanalys.

The purpose of this study was to, by using thematic analysis, investigate how psychologists experience and are affected by treating sexually assaulted individuals, if and how they use different coping strategies to maintain their own wellbeing and how they are affected by the organization. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight psychologists working in a clinic dedicated for patients with history of sexual assault. The analysis identified one general theme and four themes. The general theme Consciousness and active choices minted the other themes. Participants' awareness of their own and colleagues? health supplied conditions for inner reflection, which along with concern for potential negative effects resulted in active choices for mental health and work environment.

ABSTRACTBackground: People with colorectal cancer undergoing rectum amputation get a permanent colostomy, which affects the social life. It may be valuable for health care what these people experience living with colostomy in order to provide the greatest possible support. Objective: The aim of this study is to describe how people who received a colostomy experience their daily lives and the support they have received from the health services.Method: Qualitative interview study with six people, with a descriptive phenomenological approach.Results: The analysis of the interviews about how it's like to live with a colostomy resulted in three themes: 1) Living with a colostomy gives an uncertainty that affect the social life, 2) Physical and psychological impact of getting a colostomy and 3) Support for health care and relatives.Conclusion: Subjects had a positive attitude towards life, which contributed to that they could adjust to living with a colostomy and feel a meaningfulness of life. The study shows that all the interviewed people overall were satisfied with the information provided by the healthcare personnel. It was good with both oral and written information and very appreciated with repeated information. One aspect that could be improved was the information given aboute the closure of anus during surgery and the following complications.

This thesis is an analysis of articles published in the Palestinian newspaper al-Quds concerning the escalated conflicts within the Fatah movement during the summer in 2004.The study is done on the basis of the assumption that The Palestinian Authority (PA) expects the domestic media institutions to support the official objectives and, in this case most important, the national unity. My investigation reveals that the articles are indeed highly adjusted and purposed to unify and to hinder further growing instability, both in the politicalsphere and in the streets. The message urging for unification under the PA is constantly, directly and indirectly, repeated throughout the articles by the choice of themes and references as well as by the choice of individuals and organisations delivering statements..

Bakgrund: Att anhöriga till närstående med svår sjukdom upplever ett behov av stöd visar många studier på. För att på bästa sätt kunna lämna detta stöd är det viktigt att ta reda på hur de anhöriga upplever erhållet stöd. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva anhörigas upplevelse av stöd i samband med närståendes svåra sjukdom. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie baserad på granskning av artiklar. Studien är genomförd med en kvalitativ ansats.

Sammanfattning: Många människor dör på en institution av något slag. Dessa människor har rätt att förvänta sig bästa möjliga välbefinnande under den sista tiden av sitt liv. För vårdaren som arbetar inom den palliativa vården ställer detta stora krav. Studiens syfte var att belysa de kvaliteter hos vårdaren som kan medföra välbefinnande för patienten i den palliativa vården. Metoden som användes var litteraturstudie.

Demens är en allmän benämning på olika sjukdomstillstånd i hjärnan. Några symtom vid svår demens är minnesstörning, oförmåga att tala, oro och aggressivitet. Musik är en naturlig ingrediens i livet. Studier visar att svårt dementa personer med ett oroligt och aggressivt beteende lugnar ner sig signifikant med hjälp av musik. Syftet med studien var att beskriva musikens positiva effekter i omvårdnaden för personer med svår demens.

Hälsa är ett begrepp som har avsaknad av en bestämd definition. Det finns flertalet erkända definitioner såsom WHO:s men det finns även de definitioner som skapats av den enskilda individen. De flesta definitioner som finns kring och om hälsa har sitt ursprung i den fysiska aktivitetens värld, än dock menar flera personer att om hälsa enbart skall ses som god utifrån den fysiska aktiviteten så blir begreppet hälsa inte särskilt innehållsrikt. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur lärarna ser på begreppet hälsa. Enligt bakgrund och tidigare forskning så är hälsa ett personligt och svårdefinierat begrepp, vilket de sex lärare som intervjuades i denna kvalitativa studie bekräftade.

The Effects of dietary biotin supplementation on hoof health in Swedish dairy cows - a controlled cohort field study. The aim of the present degree project was to investigate the effects of biotin supplementation on hoof health in dairy cows. The experiment was performed as a controlled cohort study in three commercial farms in western Sweden from January 2002 to October 2002. The cows were all housed in cubicle systems with transponder concentrate feeding systems. Within each farm the cows were allocated to either biotin or control treatment. The biotin groups received 20 mg of biotin per cow and day, starting 14 days before expected calving.

This essay examines the communication value of music in television advertising. It studies different forms of music and whether these forms contribute positively or negatively to how television advertising is perceived and remembered. The forms are jingle, familiar song and unfamiliar song. 100 high school students participated in the study through a questionnaire.                      The study shows that music is an important tool that complements television advertisings visual aspects. Music creates feelings, emphasizes aspects of the image and clarifies the advertised message.

The aim of this report is to create an easily accessible guide to basic hygiene, cleaning and disinfection within the small animal practice. It is based on a literature study, using mainly research from the public health sector, due to the lack of relevant scientific reports within the veterinary field. To prevent the spread of infectious diseases it is important that the staff understands the importance of basic hygiene. Hand hygiene and disinfection and cleaning with water and detergent combined are the most important routines to prevent spreading of disease. In conclusion the differences between the veterinary and the public health sector are small, but some basic differences exist due to the nature of the patient?s needs.
