Obesity is the most common nutritional disorder, and is defined as an accumulation of excessive amounts of adipose tissue in the body. Obesity is a condition where an animal exceeds its optimum body weight by more than 10-25%. Risk factors associated with obesity may include breed, age, castration or high energy intake relative to energy consumption. The consequences of obesity are believed to be metabolic and hormonal changes, as well as cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, orthopedic problems, tumors and premature death. Prevention and early detection of obesity leads to better health care.

Bakgrund: Antalet fall med demenssjukdom ökar då medelåldern ökar. Sjukdomen har ett smygande förlopp och är påfrestande för hela familjen. Ofta blir den demensdrabbade tvungen att flytta till ett boende. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa vad som bidrar till en god relation mellan anhöriga till och vårdare av demensdrabbade, som bor på boende. Metod: En litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats gjordes.

Most of this information is given by the district nurse at the health centre. It is important to get a better knowledge of these persons experiences and how they used the information given to them.

Working horses in developing countries are mostly used for transportation. They are often owned by people with limited economical resources and lack of knowledge about how to take care of the horses and due to this the horses often suffer from problems such as dehydration, poor body condition, lesions and parasitic infections. The aim of this master thesis was to investigate if free veterinary care improved the health and hydration status of working horses in Nicaragua and it was performed as a part of a project called ?Free veterinary assistance for working horses and training of their owners as veterinary promoters in the Pacific coast of Nicaragua?. Five parameters were used to investigate whether free care improved the health of working horses in six towns along the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua.

This study analyzes 66 Swedish actively managed mutual funds investing in the Swedish stock market during the period 2005-2014. The purpose is through pooled data regressions analyze the relationship between both the mutual fund?s annual fee and risk-adjusted return to the fund?s characteristics. The characteristics of the study are the size of the fund's assets, age, if the fund is bank managed or not, Tracking Error, and standard deviation of return.By using the performance measures of CAPM, Fama and French 3-factor model, and Carhart?s 4-factor model monthly risk-adjusted returns are created for all funds over the period.

The building sector accounted for around a fourth of the total energy usage in Sweden in year 2010 (Energimyndigheten, 2012). Therefore it has become very interesting to achieve a lower energy usage in residential buildings. One way to achieve that is to build so called passive houses. By being very well insulated and have low leakage through the walls, they can reduce the energy usage for heating with a substantial amount. I Sverige dör de flesta människor på någon form av institution, vilket innebär att palliativ vård är en del av det vardagliga vårdarbetet. Studiens syfte var att belysa vårdarens möte med vuxna patienter med fokus på vårdarens omvårdnadskvaliteter i palliativ vård. Metoden som användes var litteraturstudie. Resultatet visar att mötet i palliativ vård utvecklas mest positivt om vårdaren har ett professionellt förhållningssätt och om relationen är tillitsfull. Det professionella förhållningssättet genomsyras av vårdarens empati, intresse för patienten och kommunikation mellan vårdare och patient, både verbal och icke-verbal.

Bakgrund: I dagens sjukvård förekommer möten som inte uppfyller de kriterier vilka ligger till grund för ett förtroendefullt möte mellan sjuksköterska och patient. Dessa grundpelare är trovärdighet, kunskap/utbildning, attityder, tid och närvaro. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att belysa förutsättningar och hinder för att förtroende skapas mellan vårdare och patient med långvarig smärta. Metod: Författarna har använt sig av en litteraturstudie med kvalitativ inriktning. Studien är baserad på fyra vetenskapliga artiklar och två avhandlingar. In April 1986 an accident occurred at the nuclear power station in Chernobyl. Radionuclides were spread all over Europe including Sweden. Today there are still measurable concentrations of 137Cs in the different ecosystems in the contaminated parts of Sweden. The wild boar is the second most popular game in Sweden and today the Swedish population consumes more wild boar meat than ever. As the wild boar population increases the wild boars are moving further north towards the contaminated areas, which creates an interest to study the state of 137Cs in wild boars in these areas. Muscle samples from wild boars collected during 2010-2013 were analyzed based on 137Cs content.

Att ha barn eller ett syskon som är sjukt i cancer innebär en stor omställning för alla familjemedlemmar och skapar många nya upplevelser. Varje familjemedlem ser dessa upplevelser olika beroende på kön, ålder, stödjande miljöer både på sjukhuset och privat samt cancerns art. Syftet har varit att beskriva familjemedlemmars upplevelser i den förändrade familjesituation som uppstår i samband med cancer hos barn. Studien har genomförts som en litteraturstudie, där resultatet bygger på skönlitterära böcker skrivna av familjemedlemmar till barn med cancer. Resultatet presenterades i olika kategorier (upplevelser), dessa var rädsla, utsatthet, skuld, ilska, sorg, trygghet och glädje/tacksamhet och det visade sig att familjemedlemmarna upplevde dessa situationer på olika sätt.
