The aim of this essay is to examine the supervisor?s view on the structure and content of the tasks given to students during their vocational training. The investigation could be of help for teachers when devising new vocational training tasks. The study is based upon qualitative interviews with five supervisors, all of whom work at preschools. The supervisors were asked to grade all the vocational training tasks on a scale from one (easy) to five (difficult).

AbstractJohannes Åberg 2012: Har längden betydelse? ? En kvantitativ studie av elevers textstrukturer.Does the length matter? ? A quantitative study of student text structures. Essay writing is one part of the national test in the school subject Swedish. Here the student gets the opportunity to demonstrate that it is able to follow instructions and produce a coherent text. The examinator's task hereby becomes a troublesome process with subtle distinctions between rights and wrongs.

The aim of this study is to research images of the academic world that is presented, incorporated and reproduced within the frames of the mentorship in the basic level. Can these images derive to the view upon science as a traditionally male area? Is mentorship gendered? Can the mentorship on the basic level be viewed upon as a milestone of a academic career where men and women have different opportunities to succeed?By interviewing seven mentors, working in a social sciences institution in a larger Swedish university, I have come to the conclusion that knowledge is coded male and that this affect mentors mental images of what male and female students are expected to do. The male student represent the scientist, while the female student represent what the scientist is not.Depending on the work of, among others, Kerstin Norlander, Dorothy Smith and Eva Erson I have come to view upon the university as a patriarchal organisation witch produces knowledge based upon male values, experiences and concepts. This precludes the female within this organisation from relating to the knowledge she is supposed to incorporate.

AbstraktAlla som jobbar i restaurangkök utsätts dagligen för en stor mängd fysiska risker. Till denna miljö skickas gymnasieelever med inriktning restaurang att göra sin 15 veckor långa Arbetsplatsförlagda utbildning (Apu). I många fall har inte handledarna någon handledarutbildning och har dålig kunskap om elevernas kunskapsnivå och gällande säkerhetsregler. Detta förstärks ofta med en bristfällig kommunikation mellan skola och handledare.Vi har fått intrycket av att säkerhetsfrågan är för känslig att diskutera därför finns det väldigt lite artiklar och forskning mm inom detta område.Vårt huvudsyfte var att göra en lathund som bedömdes kunna bidra till att öka den fysiska säkerheten för restaurangelever på Apu. Lathunden skall vara till hjälp för både elev, handledare och lärare och även öka kommunikationen mellan parterna.Vår frågeställning:Hur kan vi med hjälp av en lathund bidra till att den fysiska säkerheten för restaurangelever på Apu ökar?Detta har vi med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer med elever, handledare och lärare undersökt.Intressekravet hos samtliga målgrupper var en lathund i form av ett bindande kontrakt för samtliga parter, innehållande fysiska säkerhetsregler under Apu, kontakt uppgifter samt rättigheter och skyldigheter för samtliga parter.Kontraktskrivningen kräver ett fysiskt möte så därför har vi även gjort litteraturstudie om det fysiska mötet för att understryka hur viktigt det är.Även under utformningen av lathunden/kontrakt har vi tagit hjälp av litteraturstudier..

Sammanfattning: Den här undersökningen hade som syfte att identifiera och beskriva sjuksköterskestudenters och handledares uppfattningar av lärandemål och hur man uppnår dem på en studentdriven vårdavdelning samt att belysa hur sjuksköterskestudenter upplever sina möjligheter att uppnå lärandemålen i en given kontext. Undersökningen genomfördes, utifrån ett vårdpedagogiskt och pedagogiskt perspektiv, på en vårdavdelning inom akutsjukvård som har som uppdrag att både driva god infektionsvård och verksamhetsförlagd utbildning av sjuksköterskestudenter. Initialt studerades enkätsvar med studentutvärderingar som visade att 91 % av studenterna bedömde sina möjligheter att uppnå utbildningsmålen som ganska bra till utmärkta. En kvalitativ metod i form av intervjuer användes för att identifiera uppfattningar och intervjuerna analyserades med hjälp av fenomenografisk metod. Totalt 22 intervjuer genomfördes med sjuksköterskestudenter i VFU under termin 3 och 5 och både nuvarande och tidigare handledare.

Abstract (in English) The report clarifies how the economy of Värnamo and Tingsryd area experiencing and implementing APL, it also reveals their need for jacking from the school to improve students achievement.By highlighting some of the requirements, expectations, obligations and rights as schools, businesses and students have between each other can enhance our understanding of each other's activities. With increased understanding of each other's needs, function and values can be a more seamless cooperation take place which can increase the efficiency, usefulness and effectiveness of APL and apprenticeship.The investigation of the report includes a survey of 25 questions that companies involved in APL answers and interviews by two well-designate individuals in the subject, Jonas Olofsson, who among other things, wrote the book "Krisen i skolan" and Annika Jervgren is research assistant in the National Apprentice Committee.The supervisor's actions during the APL are addressed and they are critical to student achievement and how the profession is perceived. It is also evident that there is a desire for increased communication between schools and businesses and that practice is governed by established documented procedures to make the workplace time will be as constructive as possible for the students..

The reasons for hypothermia during general anaesthesia are many and varied. The lowered body temperature causes negative physiological effects and leads to discomfort for the animal during the recovery period. This student report is a combination of field study and literature review. In the field study the changes in ambient temperature and the rectal temperature of dogs were monitored during general anaesthesia. The purpose of the study was to see if the body temperature of dogs was reduced during general anaesthesia.

This thesis examines source criticism and critical thinking among upper secondary school students in social science in three different schools in Sweden. Our particular focus lies in investigating the student's critical thinking skills and evaluation of digital sources when they work independently with different projects. How do students value and sort the information they find? We looked furthermore at what factors that may influence students in their evaluation of sources. Moreover, the purpose of this thesis to investigate how the student's critical thinking skills can be used as tools to become more information literate in a learning context.

The Third International Assessment of Educational Progress (TIMMS) and the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) during the last decades regarding the results of mathematics teaching shows that China have a better performance than Sweden?s.Swedish teacher-guidelines focus on developing student?s individual interest and confidence for mathematics. In the Chinese teaching-guidelines for Mathematics Curriculum Standards, Ordninary Senior Secondary, the focus is given on: Elevate their mathematics literacy necessary for future citizenship and Development of citizen´s qualities (s.3).Teachers are the primary factors that impact teaching and learning of mathematics. Two teachers from Sweden and two from China were interviewed and their methods were compared in my study. The aim of my study was to understand mathematics teaching in China and Sweden.

The purpose of this study is to explore students? perceptions and experiences of the school-subject Swedish. Ten qualitative interviews with students in school year nine have been carried out and the results of these interviews constitute the basis of this study. The result shows that students have a straight-forward attitude towards Swedish as a school-subject. The students identify skills such as reading, writing and speaking, and work in school mainly concerns perfecting these skills. The students think of Swedish as a subject with a clear purpose and find it important and useful. The result also shows that the students want grading for the purpose of further motivation.

My study is about a preparation class in a selected municipality. It is based on the child¹s perspective, and it tries to highlight the school situation of new arrivals in a school where the majority of the pupils are of Swedish origin. The purpose of my study is to visualize how the education for newly arrived children is organized in the municipality, and to get an understanding of a range of student?s view of the schooling in the preparation class as an introduction to a regular class.To reach my goal, I have used qualitative methods, based on qualitative interviews. The interviews were made with six newly arrived pupils, and one interview was made with the deputy head of the school, which is in charge of immigrant education in the municipality.

The system also needed to prevent mistakesand errors by managing orders and invoices.The system has been created with the company?s requests in focus. The idea to create authentic learning situations where students are highly integrated made me want to try to develop a new method in the course Restaurant and Catering B MAKU 1208 (another field practicing cuisine). In my quest to do just the practical part as rewarding, stimulating and efficient as possible for the student, I planned for a training model with   focus on group interaction.The implementation of the model for learning was to strengthen students confidence both in themselves and in each other, stimulated to greater cooperation and it has also provided an incentive to the student's own development but not least, a growing self-confidence for many students. Several have also had an increased sense of knowing something, to have something to contribute and that their labour input actually was needed. While highlighting that further education to seek knowledge strengthens the individual's skills and consolidates and increases deeper knowledge in the professional field.In conclusion, training should be done in both individual and group basis for optimal learning process..
