Bakgrund: Hand-fot syndrom är en form av perifer sensorisk neuropati orsakad av cytostatikabehandling. Syndromet kan ge biverkningar såsom smärta, obehag, domningar, svullnad och nedsatt balans. Utvärderade behandlingsmetoder saknas.Syfte: Undersöka hur tolv veckors sjukgymnastisk behandling med långvågsdiametri, interferens och balansträning påverkar biverkningar i fot/underben orsakad av cytostatikabehandling hos sju patienter med hand-fot syndrom.Metod: Gruppstudie, kvasiexperimentell resultatstudie. Sju patienter deltog. Variabler som mättes var, smärta, obehag, domningar och balans.

The aim of this study is to investigate how länsstyrelsen as a supervisory authority to private compulsory care-institutions works, to guarantee adequate institutional care of unprivileged children and youth with special problems.In order to reach this aim the following questions are to be answered:? Describe länsstyrelsen´s supervision of private compulsory care-institutions (HVB-hem)? How does the officials at the three chosen county administrative boards find about the responsibilityTo answer the questions of this bachelor thesis I have chosen to apply qualitative methods, by interviewing five supervisory authorities from länsstyrelsen, in three different county administrative boards in Sweden.The findings of the study show that officials sometimes find it hard to know the exact meaning and differences between accountability and to be accountable. It also shows that they tend to think that the relationship between länsstyrelsen and the private compulsory care institutions is complicated. The subject of this study was to research whether or not different forms of employment contracts had any effect on self reported health. Whether or not any difference between these forms could be explained through the use of employee health care was also a given point of interest. To achieve this, data from the national Swedish institute of health (FHI) was used, with 6465 of the 12 166 that participated in the study. Logistic regression was the primary statistical method.Initial Chi2-analyzation found no significant difference between the two main employment forms present in Sweden. However, when the variables age, sex and level of education were held constant through logistic regression, a difference of odds at 22% between the two employment forms could be identified.

AbstractThis paper is based on a research conducted in a medium sized company, situated in Sweden, with the intent to study possible connections regarding views of gender and the existing sex segregation within the company. How is gender constructed, and does it exist representational ideas of the sexes, that leads to restrictions for men and women to be working within different areas of the company? Why are there such few women working within the company? Through five interviews with employees within the company, three women and two men, I found answers to these questions. My thesis and the specific questions were categorized into three different themes. The first theme aims to understand the interviewees? discussions of gender and labour.

One way of signalling commands to the horse during riding is through applying tension on the reins to create bit pressure in the horse?s mouth (Terada et al., 2006; Clayton et al., 2011). The skilfulness of the rider in using the hands when applying bit pressure has consequences both for the horse?s performance and welfare (Manfredi et al., 2010). At the trot there are large vertical deviations of the horse?s body which the rider must adjust and adapt to (Terada et al., 2006) and an unsteady hand due to inability to follow the horse?s movement can be a source of discomfort and conflict behaviour in the horse (Heleski et al., 2009).

This thesis conducts a comparative study between two academiclibraries, one Swedish and one English, in order to analyse ifdifferent funding systems influence the marketing of theirservices. The theoretic foundation is built on relationshipmarketing, which emphasises the importance of creating andmaintaining relationships. A qualitative approach has been usedthrough the use of case studies, with semi-structured interviewsbeing held with library staff and managers in both countries. Inaddition to these interviews strategic plans have also beenanalysed. The result from the study shows that whilst there aresome differences between the two university libraries there arealso similarities, which indicates that it is not clear if differentfunding systems have an impact on the marketing of the services..

This study aims to research how upper secondary pupils interact while playing online games, how the English language is used within each game and what attitudes these pupils have towards language in school and online gaming respectively. Online gaming sessions have been recorded to analyze the methods of interaction by which people communicate with each other while playing online games. Furthermore, the text-based communication occuring in online gaming is analyzed on a lexical level to find words not defined in legitimate English dictionaries. Interviews with students have been conducted to understand the attitudes held by students towards language in school and online games..

Jag har gjort en undersökning om lekens betydelse i förskolan. Undersökningen är kvalitativ och syftar till att genom intervjuer och observationer fastställa hur viktig leken är för barnen i förskolan. Jag har sökt svar på mina frågor hos förskollärare och intervjuat dem om deras erfarenheter och uppfattningar. Jag har slumpmässigt valt ut fyra olika lekforskare, Maria Øksnes, Birgitta Knutsdotter Olofsson, Ole Fredrik Lillemyr och Margareta Öhman. Forskarna är ganska överens om att leken är en central aspekt av barns liv och av barndomen samt att leken är ett viktigt pedagogiskt verktyg för barns lärande och utveckling.

In this study we have chosen to explore if there is still signs of gender typing in the two news programmes Rapport and Nyheterna. By using a quantitative survey as a method we have investigated if there are any differences between the sexes and their roles.The two main questions where:How does the representation look when it comes to the numbers of women and men?In what extension is the representation gender typed?Due to different theoretical points and former research we have seen that journalistic subject and gender often tends to go hand in hand. When it comes to other participants, such as subjects of interviews, earlier research has shown that experts most often are men. Whereas women often participate as ordinary people, such as mothers or students.

The house of one of the most prominent Swedish artists of the 20th century, Bror Hjorth (1894-1968), was turned into an artists-museum and opened to the public in 1978. The aim of the present paper was to see why a recommended course of action is not always followed in the way it is supposed to. The paper deals with a new method (SFA-metoden) used by The Social Insurance Agency in working with sick-listed people. Aspects that are elaborated on are local effects of the method at its introduction, case managers work conditions, and control of the implementation of the method. Two different methods of investigation have been employed. On the one hand, previous reports on the method have been analysed, and, on the other hand, two focus groups interviews, one consisting of case managers´ working with the method, and one constituted by their supervisors have been carried out.The results have been analysed in accordance with, on the one hand, the theory of street level bureaucrats and, on the other hand, certain concepts applied in the new institutionalism.

This thesis aimed to describe how the ideological dividing line concerning the welfare state has changed between the two largest governmental parties in Sweden, the Social Democrats and the Moderaterna, during 1990 to 2010. The scientist Mark Blyth points out that ideas are important instruments for structural and institutional change by identifying ideas as weapons, blueprints and cognitive locks, which were being used in the theoretical framework. The empirical data was made by a qualitative analysis of the parliamentary speeches and debates from both parties held every year. The results shows that the budgetary law passed in 1997 became a new institutional blueprint, which changed the political conditions for the Social Democrats. Furthermore, the results point to a change in the Moderaterna?s rhetoric concerning the welfare state to a more pragmatic view. .

AbstractIntroduction: Hand Arm Risk Assessment Method (HARM) is a tool to assess the risks of deve­lo­ping complaints of the arm, neck or shoulders during manual work. The method was developed in the Netherlands primarily for employers, but is also used as an aid to work environment in­spec­tors. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the HARM-method for assessment of biomecha­nical exposure of the upper limbs when performing manual tasks as well as its suitability to be used within work environment inspection. Methods: Ten labour inspectors conducted assessments of five video-recorded work tasks. Assess­ments made with HARM were compared with those made with the Assessment of Re­pe­titive Tasks (ART) tool and with ACGIH Hand Actvity Level (HAL) - both methods for assess­ment of bio­mecha­nical exposure of the upper limbs - and with the model for the assessment of re­pe­titive work in the pro­visions of the Swedish Work Environ­ment Autho­rity on ergonomics for the prevention of mus­culo­skeletal disorders, AFS 1998:1.
