Undersökningens syfte är att studera de verksamma lärarnas åsikter om den sjunkande kunskapsnivån i matematik och på så sätt få en uppfattning om hur lärare ute på skolorna upplever resultaten i TIMSS och PISA:s undersökningar. I mitt examensarbete har jag valt att sammanfatta TIMSS och PISA:s undersökningsresultat för att få fram vilka orsaker som påverkar elevernas matematikkunskaper. Min undersökning bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer.Resultaten visar att alla lärarna som intervjuades såg en koppling mellan lässvårigheter och matematikkunskaperna hos elever. Lärarna i denna undersökning bygger mycket av sin undervisning utifrån de läroböcker de använder vilket försvårar det för elever med just lässvårigheter då läroböckerna i sig ofta är uppbyggda utifrån textuppgifter. Lärarnas svar antyder att hemmiljön påverkar elevernas prestationer i skolan, men att även antalet böcker i hemmet kan påverka elevernas resultat positivt.

Syftet med den här studien är att ta reda på om eleverna skriver en annorlunda text på datorn än vad de gör för hand. På så vis kan studien även visa om datorn kan ha någon påverkan på elevernas skrivutveckling. Resultatet av en lingvistisk textanalys av antal ord, antal meningar, meningarnas genomsnittliga längd, antal långa ord, stavfel, utelämnade punkter, utelämnad stor bokstav efter punkt och användandet av ord med talspråk visade att eleverna skriver en annorlunda text på datorn än vad de gör för hand. Förutom att eleverna skrev en längre text på datorn innehöll den datorskrivna texten även fler ord, fler meningar, mindre andel stavfel, mindre andel utelämnade punkter och utelämnad stor bokstav efter punkt.Den handskrivna texten innehöll däremot en mindre andel ord med talspråk men en större andel långa ord. Däremot var det ingen direkt skillnad vad gäller meningarnas genomsnittliga längd..

This report describes a new foundation method and compares it with a traditional founding of concrete. This new method is called the Koljern technique and uses cellular glass which is called Foamglas. The Foamglas is compounded to founding elements by lightweight steel beams. Foamglas is an insulation material with high compressive strength, and is rot, insect, vermin and acid proof. The cellular glass is also fire proof and watertight, which makes it a very good construction material.The report contains a study of a number of cases for which the Koljern technique is compared with a foundation of concrete.

Det har blivit mer uppmärksammat att pojkar inte är lika duktiga i skolan som flickor. De har svårare att få höga betyg i teoretiska ämnen. En anledning kan bero på att skolan har riktat in sig på att lyfta fram flickor som inte har fått gått i skolan lika länge som pojkar. Det var vanligare att pojkar fick vidareutbilda sig för att flickor skulle giftas bort och bli kvinnor som är hemma och tar hand om hemmet och barnen. För ca 40 år sedan började man undersöka varför flickor inte var så framåt i skolan och man började arbeta för att stärka flickor i deras studier.

The purpose of my essay is on one hand to research and evaluate the measures that one intermediate school in Sweden, uses in order to prevent bullying and stop it in the event that one pupil happens to get bullied or harassed. In other words, I would like to show how that school is capable of creating a safe environment. Qualitative research is used to obtain these findings.On the other hand, I also wish to examine what pupils at the school think about these measures and how they perceive the attitudes of the school?s teachers and management regarding the prevention of bullying. In order to acquire this information quantitative research is used.The conclusions that I draw after conducting my research are as follows:1- Regarding the ?Anti ? bullying Performance Plan?, my essay shows that school teachers and management actively work in order to maintain a safe environment and as a result bullying is successfully prevented the school.

 AbstractSystem methodology is in the very heart of system development, it is a crucial part of how you define your work, how you choose to approach the actual problem at hand and how to solve it. Researchers in the system development field has shown that not all methods in theory are in compliance with how it is practiced by the companies who use them. In our thesis we have studied a larger international IT- company and one of their local offices in Sweden, who some years back changed their system development method from a more traditional to an agile one. Our aim of this study has been to establish whether both of these methods has differed between theory and in actual use, and if so, why this has occurred and what the underlying rationality might have been to promote this change. Our questions that we sought to answer were; 1.

AbstractCities are once again becoming the locus of economic, social and political processes. The effect of these processes on the city is two-fold: one one hand they threaten to fragment and dislocate the city and the actors within them, on the other hand they give actors within cities new opportunities to react and mobilize resources towards different strategies of integration. The latter gives rise to what Patrick Le Galès calls the collective actor-city. The aim of this thesis is to explore the notion of the city as a collective actor in a swedish context by utilizing Le Galès theory of european cities as collective actors in an abductive case study on the city of Malmoe. By utilizing Le Galès five dimensions that make up a collective actor I analyze interviews conducted with city officals aswell as documents produced from the city wide plan of action Welfare for everybody.

The purpose of this essay has been to explore Alexander the Great from two different perspectives in Greece. The village Proti Serron represents the local area and the national area named Macedonia represents the second perspective. Oral history has been used as a method in addition to literature and trips to museums and archaeological places.As a guideline for the essay and its contents a stereotyped schedule has been created. This schedule is presented below, and it is also possible to read it backwards.The villagers who identify themselves with Alexander the Great from their local area Proti Serron which is a part of the national area named Macedonia.This study proves that the villagers who has been interviewed, identify themselves with the place they live in as well as its history and that they feel that it is their duty to pass this knowledge forward. Alexander the Great is described as intelligent, humble, a man of strength and courage as well as a strategist and sovereign.

Music not only fun but also necessary. This paper investigates how young people describe their relationship to music. The young people - students - in this study are coming from two different districts of Malmö: One with a population with mainly ethnical Swedish background and the other with a multicultural population. The research question is how we can describe young people's relationship to music on the one hand from the social theories which are presented and on the other hand from own experience as a music teacher. Group interviews are used to get the young people's own descriptions.

Syftet med den här undersökningen var att få en inblick i hur fyra personer som är födda på 1950-talet funderar över framtiden som pensionär. Min rubrik ?Vem tar hand om 50-talisten?? är en fundering över hur det kan komma att bli för 50-talisten som pensionär. Det är ett nytt pensionssystem som har trätt i kraft och de flesta som är födda på 1950-talet kommer att få sin pension utifrån det. Samhällsutvecklingen förändras och inom socialförsäkringssystemet görs stora ekonomiska omfördelningar och besparingar.

Rätt utförd handhygien är en av de enklaste, mest betydelsefulla och minst kostsamma metoder för att minska spridning av vårdrelaterade infektioner, VRI. Trots omfattande kampanjer för förbättrad handhygien över hela världen för att förhindra VRI är det svårt att uppnå full följsamhet till rekommenderade riktlinjer. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa attityder som kan påverka hälso- och sjukvårdspersonals följsamhet av rekommenderade riktlinjer för handhygien på sjukhus. Litteraturstudien baseras på nio vetenskapliga artiklar som analyserats enligt Lundman och Graneheims (2008) kvalitativa innehållsanalys. Artiklarna har granskats och kvalitetsbedömts utifrån Willman, Stolz och Bahtsevanis (2011) bedömningsmall.

Sveriges skolor står inför många utmaningar med sjunkande kunskapsresultat och med en ökad andel elever som mår dåligt. Förutom sin kunskapsförmedlande uppgift har skolan även en fostrande roll. Denna studie belyser betydelsen och benämningen av socialt arbete i skolan. Syftet är att undersöka vad skolpersonal upplever att socialt arbete i skolan är samt hur det sätts i relation till kunskapskraven. Studien är präglad av en induktiv ansats och bygger på fem kvalitativa intervjuer i semistrukturerad form med en rektor, kurator, barn- och ungdomsassistent samt två lärare vid en kommunal grundskola.

The purpose of this essay has been to study the different discourses that are expressed in social welfare secretaries? assertions when they assess cases with elements of honour-related violence, intimidation and oppression. To do so I have used a discourse analysis theory and technique, based on three qualitative interviews with social welfare secretaries. The interviews were focused on vignettes, which were all fictitious cases with various elements of honour-related violence. One of the interviews was a focus groupinterview with four participants, while the other two interviews were individual.

The purpose of this paper was to study how the death is described in some books for children and how the books may affect the readers. I chose five books where the leading character was a child who lost a close relative like a parent or a sibling. I asked the book questions like you would do at an interwiew.The main questions were:· What do the children think about the death?· How does the child react when it finds out that a parent or a sibling is dead?· What does the child think about seeing the dead person and how does it react at the funeral?· From what or whom do they find the strength to move on?· What support does the child have from people in the surroundings?· How may the books affect the readers?The results showed that the books give you an image close to the reality. The children had different ways to mourn.

Inom operationssjukvård förebyggs postoperativa infektioner genom att operationspersonalen utför preoperativ handdesinfektion. Det finns två handdesinfektionsmetoder som rekommenderas att använda, Metod 1 för alkoholbaserad handdesinfektion (Sterillium) och Metod 2 för antiseptisk handdesinfektion (Hibiscrub). Syftet med studien var att studera och jämföra olika preoperativa handdesinfektionsmetoder inom operationssjukvård. Metoden var en litteraturstudie som baserades på 11 vetenskapliga studier. Systematiska sökningar gjordes i databaserna CINAHL och Medline samt via manuella sökningar.
