The purpose with this essay is to examine different roles of leadership in the working environment by interviewing ex-students that have taken their degree from Halmstad Högskola and its construction program. How do these ex-students handle to be in a position of power in their everday life and how do they handle decision making? Do they find that the education they have recieved in any way has helped them in regard for leadership or do they rather conclude that further education in the area of leadership would be beneficial? These are the questions that I set out to shed some light over in this essay. This study consists of one part theory and one empirical part. The empirical part was accomplished by interviewing ex-students from Halmstad Högskola and this part was later compiled with relevant theories on the subject which were obtained from books , internet and various databases.The results from the interviews show that the general point of view is that the subjects containing leadership in their education hasn't really helped them.

Detta är en uppsats som har fått sin utgångspunkt från rapporten ?Om sociala problem i nya bostadsområden? från Centralförbundet för socialt arbete. Rapporten från 1976 konstaterade att det i hög grad förekom sociala problem i de nya bostadsområden som byggts enligt Miljonprogramsmodellen. I Halmstad byggdes bostadsområdet Andersberg för att bota den bostadsbrist som under 1960-talet rådde i Halmstad. Då området byggdes enligt normer från just Miljonprogrammet, blev uppsatsens syfte att se hur väl detta bostadsområde stämde överrens med de definitioner av sociala problem som preciserades i rapporten, samt att ge en lokal och levande bild av det tidiga Anderberg.

Studiens syfte har varit att undersöka hur Folkrörelsen Nej till EU Halmstad och Hallandspostens ledare debatterade demokratin i samband med folkomröstningen om det svenska EU-medlemskapet 1994. En kvalitativ diskursanalys har gjorts utifrån kampanjmaterial och tidningsledare inför folkomröstningen 1994 där två specifika diskurser kartlades. Resultatet visade att Nej till EU Halmstad och Hallandspostens ledare hade olika uppfattningar om demokratin i samband med EU eftersom att de valde att fokusera på olika aspekter av medlemskapet. Därmed fördes en diskursiv kamp mellan de båda opinionsbildarna om vad medlemskapet skulle innebära för Sveriges vidkommande. Skillnaden i att fokusera på den demokratiska proceduren eller det politiska resultatet av EU, bidrog till att aktörerna hade olika utgångspunkter för hur de bedrev opinion inför folkomröstningen.

This is a technical report about cement stabilization in general and the stabilizationprocess during the construction of a warehouse in Halmstad, Sweden in particular and iswritten at the section for economy and technology at Halmstad University incollaboration with NCC Anläggning.NCC encountered variations in compression strength in the stabilized material on the firstwarehouse that they constructed for the company Biltema. In our report we used thestabilization process of the second warehouse for the same company as a reference todetermine what could be done to get a more homogeneous result for future projects.We also looked in to what testing method is the most suitable to determine the result ofthe stabilization.After interviews with people involved in the process and visits on the work site we havecome to the conclusion that the most probable cause to the variations in compressionstrength is segregation in the ballast material. This segregation can occur in severaldifferent occasions in the process such as during the production, transportation andhandling on the work site.Other causes for the variation can be improper compaction, overlapping stabilization insome places and different duration of hardening of the samples that are tested.The best way to do in situ test of the stabilized material is to do seismic investigations asthose are non-destructive tests in comparison to taking core samples and you can discoverany cracks or air bubbles in the material..

This essay deals with the relationship between the mendicant movement and the urbanization during the thirteenth century. The aim has been to explore the significance of the Dominicansand the Franciscans for the creation of an urban landscape. This was made through the study of the urbanization process in southern Halland focusing on the town of Halmstad where the friars were established. The importance of the mendicants was also studied through their absence in the towns of Laholm and Falkenberg. To achieve this investigation in a contextual perspective material from different areas was used such as archaeology, history and history of science and ideas.

FN:s generalförsamling antog den 13 december den nya konventionen om funktionshindrade personers rättigheter. Målet med den är att människor med funktionshinder skall kunna leva självständigt och delta till fullo i livets alla aspekter. 2001 satte Sveriges regering upp ett mål att alla enkelt avhjälpta hinder i lokaler öppna för allmänheten skall vara åtgärdade senast 2010. Rörelsehindrade motionerar i stor utsträckning för att hålla sig i form och som del av sin rehabilitering. Trots det stannar en del hemma på grund av att tillgängligheten är för dålig.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att utföra en utvärdering av i vilken grad högskolan iHalmstad lyckas med att uppfylla de mål och riktlinjer som lagts fast för lärarexamen isamhällskunskap på gymnasienivå. Halvstrukturerade intervjuer utfördes. Urvalet bestod avfem individer som alla genomfört samhällslärarutbildningen på högskolan i Halmstad.Intervjuteman var ämneskunskaper, pedagogisk kunskap, den demokratiska skolan ochpraktisk kunskap. Resultaten och analysen visade enligt studiens intervjupersoner attsamhällskunskapslärarutbildningen vid högskolan i Halmstad till viss del uppfyller de mål ochriktlinjer som lagts fast för lärarexamen med avseende på dess undervisning kring dendemokratiska skolan och dess beståndsdelar som till exempel värdergrundsfrågor och allamänniskors värde samt ifråga om barns sociala, emotionella och kognitiva utveckling. Målenoch riktlinjerna uppfylls, enligt studiens interjupersoner, dock inte till fullo vad gällerämneskunskaper och dess tillämpning i skolorna, allmän och ämnesdidaktik, betygsättningoch bedömning, informationsteknik som pedagogiskt verktyg samt förebyggande ochhantering av kränkningar och diskriminering..
