The image of the poet Gustaf Fröding is the main theme of this essay. It opens with an analysis of the chamber opera Flickan i ögat. This opera has never been translated but a direct translation would be The Girl in the Eye. It refers to a story that when a man looks into the mirror and sees a picture of a girl in his eye, she will be his future love.  Fröding has written a poem "Flickan i ögat" where the person in the poem only observes himself.

Uppsatsen utgår från frågan hur David Mamets pjäs Oleanna kunde tolkas så radikalt annorlunda vid sin  svenska premiär på Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern 1994 jämfört med vid sin urpremiär i New York ett drygt år tidigare. I USA uppfattades Oleanna allmänt som en varning för hämndlysten feminism och för faran med överdriven politisk korrekthet, och debatten kom att gälla huruvida denna varning var befogad eller bara reaktionär och dum. I Sverige sågs den tvärtom som en kritisk genomlysning av patriarkala strukturer. Uppsatsen söker svaret i en kombination av inom- och utomtextuella faktorer och innehåller därför både en receptionsanalytisk del och en närläsning av dramat. I receptionsanalysen jämförs pjäsens mottagande i USA och Sverige och sätts i relation till respektive samhälles offentliga samtal om feminism och identitetspolitik.

Although Sweden has democracy implemented in its Constitution, because of being a monarchy, it has a non-elected Head of State. The purpose of this thesis is on the one hand to show if it is possible to normatively legitimate the Swedish monarchy and on the other hand to display if and how the three biggest Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheter and Expressen justify monarchy by making a content-oriented analysis of their coverage of King Carl XVI Gustaf's political statement during his state visit in Brunei 2004.By using consequentialism and deontology as perspectives I will show that it overall is not possible to normatively justify the Swedish monarchy compared to a Swedish republic with an elected Head of State. This is mainly because democracy is implemented in the Swedish Constitution. In all three newspapers there is only little debate on the Constitution. Most commonly journalists criticize the King's statement but not monarchy as an institution.

Uppsatsen redogör för tre svenska teologers tolkningar av den kristna försoningstanken. Gustaf Aulén presenterar tre skilda försoningstankar i sin bok Den kristna försoningstanken, varav han själv företräder en av dessa; det klassiska försoningsmotivet. De övriga två som presenteras i boken är den latinska eller objektiva försoningsteorin samt den subjektiva försoningsläran.Sofia Camnerin är den andra teologen som studeras i denna uppsats. Hon redogör i sin avhandling Försoningens mellanrum, för teologerna Rita Nakashima Brock och Daphne Hampsons tankar kring den kristna försoningstanken. Med dessa teologer som bakgrund lämnar Camnerin sitt eget bidrag till debatten om försoningen.Slutligen redogörs för KG Hammars trilogi Tecken och verklighet, Samtal om Gud och Ecce Homo ? efter två tusen år.

In this essay I present an outline and examination of the Finnish Luther research, withan aim to learn more about some different aspects of Luther?s teaching on justificationas sanctification, and sanctification as the growth of the new man. I will also draw myattention to the formal language of metaphysics, as it is continuously employed by Luther to depict the issues and the content of his reformation theology. Apart from the program of research in Helsinki, I have turned to the writings of Luther himself; and I have as well tried to engage in a broader survey of Luther-scholars, some of which seem to, or in fact, support the Finnish interpretation, others which raise a critical stance towards it. The later portion of the essay picks up on the Finnish critique of dominant 19th and 20th century German Lutheran theologians, such as Albrecht Ritschl and Gerhard Ebeling.

I det förra sekelskiftets Sverige skedde en omfattande regionaliseringsprocess, och med den sökte man bl.a. befästa rikets alla län och landskap genom att producera en för de olika aktuella regionerna allomfattande identitet som skulle överbrygga olika sociala tillhörigheter. Länen och landskapen framställdes som nationella subkulturer som skulle verka för lojalitet mot staten. Med den här uppsatsen söker författaren åskådliggöra hur en norrbottnisk identitet växer fram och befästs i denna tidsanda, samt hur den processen överensstämmer eller skiljer sig från övriga Sverige. För att uppnå syftet med uppsatsen belyses instanser och verksamma personer inom kulturvården i Sverige och främst Norrbotten, eftersom det var inom kulturvården som produktionen av identiteter var som intensivast under det aktuella tidsperspektivet.

Studies of networks, fields and of communicative circulations complement each other. This master thesis is a biographical study of an author and journalist, Gustaf Montgomery GM, his network in Sweden of the early 19th century, and a study of his authorship and literary career. The starting-point of the study is GM:s change of field from the conservative to the liberal in 1832. The aim is to give explanations to this change and to describe how the change in turn effected the network. The method used is critical of sources.

Glädje och lekfullhet förknippas gång på gång med dans i Fröding dikter, och dansen har även ett nära förhållande till musik, fest och lek. Just glädjen kan sägas vara signifikativt för dansmotivet i stort, som med enbart några få undantag kopplas till lyckliga tilldragelser.Egenskapen att kunna dansa förefaller vara något som Gustaf Fröding värderade högt, vilket jag pekat på genom att åskådliggöra hur skalden använder sig av dansen som ett karaktäriserande drag hos hans fiktiva personer. Det är dock inte enbart människor som dansar i Frödings dikter, utan i stort sett allt i universum kan få denna egenskap.

The purpose of this essay was to find out whether the students, which had moved from the school of Gustaf Adolf to the school of Elineberg, had been integrated into their new environment. We chose to analyze the degree of integration concerning their schoolwork, how they interacted with the students from the new school, the school of Elineberg, and their level of wellbeing in their new school. We have used two methods, surveys and interviews, to be able to obtain the general picture of how the integration of the students has succeeded.Our conclusions are that the student has adapted well in their new school despite many obstacles along the way. Our essay shows that the students get along well with their new school friends during class, but they don´t socialise in their spear time. Although they seem to have accepted the closure of their old school some students express that they wish the school would be reopened.

The aim of this paper is to examine how the press describes the public and private role of the Swedish monarch in texts that report about the biography Carl XVI Gustaf ? den motvillige monarken (Sjöberg et al. 2010) when it is published in November 2010. The examined period ranges between the days just before the release and a fortnight after. The analysis is limited to standard Swedish papers: a daily, Svenska Dagbladet, and an evening paper, Expressen.Questions asked in the study are: In what ways do the analysed texts raise a discussion about the monarchy?s importance or function in the society of today, that is a public debate on the monarchy? To what extension are status symbols used in the constructing of royalty, that is what Jürgen Habermas (2003) describes as representative publicity? What similarities and differences are found when comparing the news articles in the daily and in the evening paper?The method used to answer the aim and questions is the critical discourse analysis, as Norman Fairclough (1995) describes it, and the theoretical perspective of the essay is Jürgen Habermas? (2003) theory about the bourgeois public sphere.The result shows that the news articles in the daily unsurprisingly construct only a public who wants to debate on the monarchy.

The objective of this entire essay, founded on nineteen interviews of poetry readers at thepublic library in Borås, is to ascertain why people do read poetry. But in addition to examinewhat sort of people who enjoy poetry, as well as what they appear to get out of their exercise.I have also put together the position of the poetry reader as a customer of the library.The summary of contents is primarily based on direct quotations of the interviews, and doesnot reflect any generally applicable facts about poetry readers. I am only trying to focus on thethoughts and sentiments on poetry experienced by a few randomly selected individuals. The thesis examines ?intermediality? in Svenska Bios (Swedish Biograph) first fiction films. Värmlänningarne (1910), Fänrik Ståls Sägner (1910), Bröllopet på Ulfåsa (1910), Regina von Emmeritz och Konung Gustaf II Adolf (1910), Amuletten (1910), Emigranten (1910) and Järnbäraren (1911) are analysed in relation to theatre, literature, music and ?reality?. A detailed discussion of intermediality is combined with specific theories relating to pictorialism and literary presentation in film.
