At Rottneros pulp mill mechanical pulp is bleached with hydrogen peroxide. The changes of bleaching chemicals that are used for different grades are taken from bleaching tables; however these tables are old and need to be updated. The purpose of this thesis was to be the basis of new documentation.In this thesis three pulps where studied with the aim to find the optimal bleaching chemical changes (total NaOH/VP-quote) for each pulp. The pulps were taken from the filter before the bleaching tower and the pulps were bleached in the lab. The most important pulp property in this study was the brightness and how that was influenced by the chemical dosages.

Holmen Skog AB is an important supplier of conifer pulpwood to the Iggesund Paperboard mill. After logging and transport to the landing by a forwarder, the wood is loaded on trucks for further transport, often by using separate loaders. During this handling process considerable amounts of stone material is sometimes mixed into the pulpwood and this causes problems for the industry. The aim of this study is to identify which part of the chain from forest to pulpmill, that contributes the most to this contamination. Sizes and total volumes of the contaminating stones were also investigated.

In modern society in terms of economics and environmental impact, it is important to ensure that a company is as energy efficient as possible to reduce the amount of energy used. About 10 TWh of electricity used annually to pump drives in Swedish industry. Therefore, pumping system has great potential for energy savings.The objective of this report was to determine how much energy and money that can be saved with the insertion of variable speed drive to six pumps on Bleach plant 4 in Skutskär Mill. The work was performed with electrical measurements during one week, analysis of pump curves and the compilation of production data over a year.The results show that four of these six pumps were profitable and yielded an annual saving of 1172 MWh of electricity and 560 000 SEK. With an economic lifetime of 10 years and a discount rate of 6.8% the final result for the entire life-cycle savings became 3 355 000 SEK.

This study focuses on how the idea of sustainability is dealt with by companies, how the idea changes when moving through a company structure and how the different individuals interpret the idea. To date, many different studies have been written on the subject of sustainability, but few share the perspective addressed in this particular study. This case study was formed at a paper mill in the central part of Sweden. Semi-structured interviews with employees working on different hierarchical levels, within the same company, were chosen in order to get an insight into how the idea of sustainability is implemented throughout an entire company. The interviews have been transcribed to help identify contrasting patterns.This study has shown that the idea of sustainability, and its context within society, differs from how the idea is perceived in the organization.

Då en pappersrulle har partier där pappret är längre kallas det ibland för slappa stråk. Det finns flera orsaker till slappa stråk och en av dessa orsaker är att pappret har en ojämn tjockleksprofil. I dessa fall uppstår de slappa stråken eftersom den ojämna tjockleksprofilen gör att pappersrullen på de positioner där pappret är tjockare får en större diameter än i övrigt. Då papper rullas över dessa åsar eller valkar som har en större diameter töjs pappret ut och då det rullas av rullen är det slappt. Körbarhetsproblem till följd av att pappret är slappt i vissa partier är ett stort problem inom pappersindustrin.

I detta arbete har en fallstudie utförts på Vattenfall Ringhals som har cirka 1200 anställda. Denna fallstudie är en undersökning om hur användare ser på intranät som informationsförmedlare. Undersökningens syfte är att visa på problem och möjligheter med intranät som informationsförmedlare. Informationen har samlats in via enkäter, intervjuer och litteraturstudier. Undersökningens slutsatser handlar i stort om att det finns en statusskillnad mellan elektroniskt representerad information och information tryckt på papper.

However, in recent years these rights have become atopic of discussion in the way that a debate about the Islamic headscarves has developed. Thisdebate has resulted in that a number of countries, including France, have taken legislative measuresto ban clothing that fully covers ones face. Out of these bans a discussion has arisen concerning thefundamental freedoms and human rights. These burqa bans, as it is labeled in the pubic debate, havebeen accused to wrongfully limit the individuals freedoms and human rights.This study therefore has the aim to analyze these burqa bans in relation to the European Union,United Nations and the Council of Europe?s general declarations concerning the fundamentalfreedoms and basic human rights.The main result of this study shows that these bans in fact is not a proportionally restrict in thefundamental freedoms and human rights.

Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka Siri Derkerts Sverigeväggen 1967-69, främst genom att studera skisserna till verket. Derkert gjorde väldigt många skisser på familjemedlemmar, vänner och andra närstående och detta blev en kraftkälla som användes mot en pressande omvärld. Alla de skisser hon gjorde och sparade kunde hon senare plocka fram för att använda till olika verk och sammanhang. Till Sverigeväggen finns ett mycket omfattade skissmaterial som i viss mån bygger på återanvända skisser, bland annat på kursdeltagare från Fogelstad, där även Derkert var deltagare vid ett flertal tillfällen. Derkerts porträttskisser är väldigt abstraherade och det kan vara svårt att se vilka de föreställer.
