The thesis objective was to study the partnership between the municipality of Gothenburg and three nonprofit organizations concerning the mobile EU-citizens. The study examines how the EU-enlargement affected Sweden and eventually the municipality of Gothenburg, and how Gothenburg responded to the new situation regarding the target group. The thesis contains one case study and the empirical data are based on semi structured interviews with politicians and officials from both the public- and the nonprofit sector. The results were screened with New Institutional Theory, Resource Dependence Theory and Decision Making Theory: Rule Following. The theories were used to locate any type of isomorphism, resource dependence and rule following in the partnership.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka vilka faktorer som inverkar på personalens relation till brukarna på ett korttidshem för flerfunktionshindrade ungdomar och unga vuxna, samt att granska hur dessa faktorer influerar varandra. Data har insamlats i huvudsak genom djupintervjuer men också utifrån ett självetnografiskt förhållningssätt. Analysmetoden som använts är Grounded Theory. Resultatet av studien visar att vårdpersonalens relation till brukarna kan kopplas till den nivå av relationell trygghet som upplevs gentemot brukarna på korttidshemmet. Den relationella tryggheten påverkas i sin tur av vårdgivarens personlighet, det upplevda relationella djupet mellan vårdgivaren och brukaren, samt graden av upplevd arbetsrelaterad stabilitet.

Textbooks are a very influential medium considering the fact that they often introduce students to information they have never read or heard about before, and as such they become very important in forming students? opinions on different matters. In this study I have taken a closer look at five textbooks in history that are currently being used in the Swedish upper secondary school. My aim has been to find out how East Asia is pictured and also how much space East Asian history is given in these textbooks with the postcolonial theory as theoretical basis. My study shows that East Asia is given very little space compared to Europe in these books, with an average of less than a twentieth of the number of pages that deal with European history.

Den första januari 1998 trädde en ny lag ikraft, Lag (1997:614) om kommunal redovisning. Lagen stadgar att pensioner intjänade före 1998 skall redovisas som ansvarsförbindelse medan de som intjänats efter 1997 skall skuldföras. Det finns idag kommuner som, trots lagstiftningen, redovisar även det som intjänats före 1998 som skuld eller avsättning. Det leder oss in på uppsatsens syfte som är att kartlägga hur och förklara varför kommuner redovisar och hanterar pensionsförpliktelser på skilda sätt.Positive Accounting Theory (PAT), Downs teori samt Institutionell teori (IT) ligger till grund för de hypoteser som arbetats fram. PAT och Downs teori bygger på tanken att människor i första hand ser till sin egen nytta och maximerar egen välfärd.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the young caregivers thoughts of the elderly caretaker. A qualitative method was chosen when interviewing young caregivers in order to get an insight of how they perceive and speak of the elders. The main questions of the study are: How do the caregivers believe that the elders perceive their day-to-day life and situation? Is it possible to distinguish if the young caregiver?s thoughts about the elders affect their work with the elderly caretaker? Is it possible to notice any common factors that the young caregivers perceive as important in their work with the elderly caretaker? The criteria for inclusion in this study are caregivers aged 18 to 25, who are working with elderly at special accommodation. The theories chosen for this study are the salutogenetic perspective, the activity theory and the theory of gerotranscendence.

The aim of this study is to go into depth and analyze the identity ?immigrant? (invandrare) and how it is constituted in Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet and Sydsvenska Dagbladet. An investigation (SOU 2006:21) by Swedish authorities concludes that immigrants are portrayed in an unfavorable way in Swedish media, whilst Gunnar Sandelin in a debate article in Sweden?s biggest morning newspaper (Dagens Nyheter) meant that Swedish media lies about immigrants, creating an image of them that is too favorable that is not in touch with reality. This gives this thesis momentum to further investigate the identity immigrants are given in Swedish media.The theory and method used in this thesis is Laclau?s and Mouffe?s discourse theory.

This essay constitutes a qualitative case study about democratization theory and the middle class in Russia. This is a very important case to study, especially because of the geographic position of the country as well as the economic importance Russia has as a part of the G8. In the essay the author seeks to answer the question whether the lack of a significant middle class in Russia can be a part of the explanation to the absence of a well functioning democracy in the country. Several democratization theories are presented. The most important being Ruth Berins Collier's theories about ins and outs plus the elite- or working class as the initiator of democratization processes.

In the autumn of 2012 a debate started in Swedish media about racial stereotypes and content in children's literature. Some voices wanted to weed out titles such as Tintin i Kongo (Tintin in the Congo) and the character Lilla hjärtat from Liten Skär och alla Brokiga (Little Pink & Brokiga), while others claimed that it was against our freedom of speech. In this essay I intend to interview librarians to find out if and how the debate has affected their work with purchase and weeding. I will also analyze their purchase policy to find out if it mentions racism and how the policies are applied in practice. As theory I'm using Strömbergs theory regarding three aspects of racism and Klassons theory about three different kinds of librarian roles.

Title: The role and status of music theory ? an inquiry into the Arts Programme of the Swedish upper secondary school. The purpose of this inquiry is to find out what teachers of the Arts Programme say about the role and status of music theory within the different music subjects. Four teachers were interviewed, two teachers of music theory and two instrumental teachers. The interviews were formulated with open questions where the informants guide the conversation, i.e.

Barns fem första levnadsår präglas av en omfattande utveckling av språkliga förmågor och exekutiva funktioner, vilka är färdigheter som visat sig ha en stor påverkan på hur barn utvecklar förståelse för sina egna och andras tankar, det vill säga deras Theory of Mind. En central aspekt inom forskning har varit att undersöka hur förmågorna samvarierar vid olika åldrar.Syftet i föreliggande studie var att undersöka sambandet mellan Theory of Mind, språkliga förmågor och exekutiva funktioner hos barn i tre års ålder med typisk utveckling. Av intresse var även att undersöka om det förelåg skillnader i resultat mellan pojkar och flickor samt om de del-tagande barnens demografiska förhållanden vad gäller antal äldre och/eller yngre syskon, socio-ekonomisk status och vuxenkontakt påverkade de deltagande barnens Theory of Mind.Totalt medverkade 30 barn med typisk utveckling, varav 16 var flickor och 14 var pojkar. Åldersanpassade testmaterial användes för att undersöka Theory of Mind, grammatisk förmåga, semantisk förmåga, kognitiv flexibilitet, arbetsminne och fonemdiskrimination. Den demografiska informationen inhämtades i form av en enkät som föräldrarna fick fylla i.Resultatet indikerar att treåriga barns förmåga att hantera och förstå Theory of Mind-uppgifter samvarierar med både grammatisk förmåga och kognitiv flexibilitet.

Det här är en studie i hur män och kvinnor avbildas och  beskrivs i bilder på sportsidorna under tre olympiska spel, OS i Amsterdam 1928, OS i Melbourne 1956 och OS i Los Angeles 1984, mot bakgrund av Anja Hirdmans uppsats Male Norms and Female Forms. Hon har i sin studie endast studerat nyhetsplats och inte idrottssidor och den här uppsatsen är ett försök att problematisera hennes resultat. I uppsatsen har vi valt att studera de båda svenska tidningarna Dagens nyheter och Idrottsbladet genom att använda semiotisk analys och textanalys. Vi kan visa att det råder en dikotomi i beskrivningen och avbildningen av män och kvinnor men att resultaten skiljer sig i detaljer mot Hirdmans studie eftersom sportsidor har en annan nyhetslogik än övriga sidor. På många sätt avbildas män och kvinnor på sportsidorna över tid mer jämlikt än på övrig nyhetsplats. Män och kvinnor får ungefär lika stor bevakning i förhållande till antalet deltagare, beskrivs ofta efter sina resultat och avbildas som ungefär lika aktiva och ungefär lika ofta som individer. Men på andra sätt är det tvärtom; kvinnor omnämns oftare med sitt kön, de ler oftare mot kameran, avbildas oftare som poserande och det saknas helt kvinnliga ledare under vår undersökningsperiod. Män avbildas oftare i helkropp, oftare som narcissistiska och begrundande på ett sätt som förefaller ikoniskt, i det att bilden av en allvarlig man som funderar är en viktig del av vår bildkultur och ofta återkommer som manligt ideal. .

The purpose of this study was to examine whether a L2 learner could correct or imitate structures of the language that they could not produce in written production defined by processability theori levels.The Informants had Arabic as their mother tongue. The study showed that the ability of correction developed slower than the capacity for imitation and the ability to written production. The ability of the correction developed by the duration of the stay. The result was a confirmation of theory formation in processability theory. Corrective elicitering could be developed into a useful diagnostic tool in the classroom and thus provide an education that followed a natural learning order according to processability theory by Pienemann.Keywords: processability theori, imitation, correction, written production.

Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ studie med syfte att undersöka arbetsmotivationen hos personal på två korttidsboenden i en närliggande kommun till Göteborg. Korttidsboendena är till för ungdomar med neuropsykiatriska diagnoser med utåtagerande problematik. Det råder en tuff arbetsmiljö där hot och våld förekommer. I studien ställer vi oss frågor om personalen upplever sig motiverade i arbetet, vad som motiverar dem och om det finns faktorer som påverkar motivationen negativt.Empiri har samlats genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer med nio respondenter från de två korttidsboendena.Resultatet visar på att personalen upplever sig motiverade och att det finns sex faktorer som påverkar arbetsmotivationen bland personalen positivt, negativt och/eller båda och. Dessa faktorer är ekonomiska incitament, arbetsmiljö, arbetskamrater, att arbeta med människor, struktur och arbetsförhållanden.

Many reports infer that questions of HBT and homophobia are either poorly addressed or not addressed at all in schools today. This study is based on interviews with teachers of students aged 13 to 15. It is an inquiry to the teacher's thoughts about, knowledge of, and sense of responsibility to inform students of the subjects 'Queer', 'HBT', and 'Homophobia'. Who is responsible for educating the students regarding these subjects and what do teachers think about including these subjects in their curriculum? How do the teachers describe their knowledge of the subjects? Do they require further knowledge themselves in order to educate others in a proper way? The study is grounded in queer theories.
