This report presents a master thesis project performed at Elekta AB during the fall of 2013 and early 2014. Elekta is a medical technology company and their main product in the Stockholm office is a gamma knife used for radiosurgery. The gamma knife contains a cluster of a dozen motor servos and motors used for adjusting the patient and the radiation sources over a CAN bus. A self-developed hardware-in-loop simulator running on a PC with LabVIEW is currently being used for integration level testing of the control system of the gamma knife. The simulator has some problems with it not running in real-time and having other performance issues.

Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om det finns skillnad i rörelsekontroll av ländryggen mellan personer med ospecifik ländryggssmärta och friska.Metod: Två sjukgymnaster bedömde hur 36 videofilmade försökspersoner (18 personer med ospecifik ländryggssmärta och 18 friska) klarade att utföra de tre testen; stående knälyft, statiskt och dynamiskt utfallssteg. Bedömarna, som var vana att bedöma rörelsekontrolltest, granskade videofilmerna och antalet icke korrekt utförda delmoment av testen antecknades på ett standardiserat protokoll. Analys av skillnader i rörelsekontroll mellan grupperna avseende antalet icke korrekt utförda delmoment beräknades med Mann-Whitney U test. För analys av skillnader mellan grupperna avseende antalet personer med helt korrekt utförda test användes Chi 2-test. Signifikansnivån sattes till p<0.05.Resultat: Ingen signifikant skillnad i rörelsekontroll mellan grupperna påvisades för antalet icke korrekt utförda delmoment för alla test sammantaget (p= 0.15) eller för de tre testen var för sig (stående knälyft p= 0.39, statiskt utfallssteg p= 0.13, dynamiskt utfallssteg p= 0.06).

This study is a text analysis of 30 master?s theses, written by students at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science in Borås 2005-2008, concerning the subject sociology of literature. The aim is to twofold; to show how the subject sociology of literature manifests itself within these LIS theses and to produce discourse arguments concerning sociology of literature as an LIS subject. The theorists I refer to in my study are Thomas. S Kuhn, Frickel & Gross and Richard Whitley, who devoted themselves to the theory of science.

Benämningsförmågan av verb och substantiv kan påverkas på skilda sätt vid neurologisk skada eller sjukdom och idag finns inget normerat verbbenämningstest på svenska. Syftet med föreliggande studie var att översätta och ta fram normvärden för friska vuxna personer på Action Naming Test (ANT), samt att undersöka huruvida ålder, kön, utbildnings- och kognitionsnivå påverkar resultaten.Målorden i ANT översattes från engelska till svenska genom omvänd översättning och 120 personer i åldrarna 20-83 år testades med detta. För möjlighet att undersöka inverkande faktorer på resultaten samlades information om utbildningsnivå in och deltagarna testades även med Irregularly Spelled Words (ISW) och Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-III (WISC-III) Blockmönster.Resultaten visade att ålder, utbildning och kognition hade en inverkan på hur friska vuxna personer presterade på ANT. Yngre deltagare presterade signifikant bättre, liksom deltagare med hög utbildnings- och kognitionsnivå. Hänsyn bör tas till att anpassningar till svenska språket inte är fullständigt utförda, men då resultaten har ett stort underlag kan de ändå användas som normvärden vid testning av verbbenämningsförmåga hos personer med neurologisk skada eller sjukdom..

Does goodwill affect the cost of capital? Goodwill is an asset which is characterized by much uncertainty regarding both what it is and how much it is really worth. Based on economic theory about information risk and principal-agent problems as well as theory regarding the cost of capital we test for the hypothesis that debt and equity investors perceive goodwill as something risky and hence demand compensation for taking on this extra risk. The proxies used for the cost of capital are cost of debt, beta and the EP-ratio. On a general level we find that increasing the level of goodwill seems to result in higher cost of capital as represented by the three proxies.

The Swedish cooperative Lantmännen Ekonomiska Förening has initiated a project labelled "Operation Blåljus" that includes an extensive program for closing down elevators. The number of elevators will be reduced from 92 to approximately 15 after harvest of 2007. The objective of Blåljus is to increase the price of grain with 10 öre/kg. A project has been initiated at the Lantmännen Grain division where the purpose is to provide the farmers with support in their decisions and practical advice how they can load a 35 ton grain truck on 30 minutes. The result from the project will serve as a support system to the farmer in his ambition to achieve cost efficient systems to load a truck with grain on the farm.

Background: Since1994, the EU NickelDirective is limiting the release of nickel from objects that are in prolongedcontact with skin. Despite this, nickel is still the most common cause of contactallergy in industrialized countries. This could implicate that other productswith short contact to the skin, which are not restricted by EU´s legislation inREACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicalsubstances), could be a source of nickel or cobalt exposure. There is no limitfor cobalt release within REACH. To determine if there is cobalt or nickelpresent on the surface of a material and if metal can be released in contactwith the skin, there are quantitative and qualitative methods, such as the DMG(dimethylglyoxime)-test, the cobalt spot-test and a method for releasedetermination according to EN1811.Objectives: Laptops are not included in the REACH legislation.

This student report is about canine atopic dermatitis It includes a description of the immunologic mechanisms and how the reaction affects the body. The symptoms are various, most common is pruritus, erythema and alopecia and directly associated with the immunologic reaction. The diagnostic process includes symptoms, physical findings, differential diagnosis, intradermal test and serological test. The options of treatment are several and vary for each patient. The report includes hyposensitization, medical treatment such as corticosteroids, antihistamin and cyclosporine, topical treatment, fatty acid supplements and environmental treatment. The prognosis is individual for each patient due to their different response to the treatment. It may take a while to find the right combination of treatments to achieve satisfactory control of the disease..

The Ericsson AXE-based systems are programmed using an internally developed language called Plex-C. Plex-C is normally compiled to execute on an Ericsson internal processor architecture. A transition to standard processors is currently in progress. This makes it interesting to examine if Plex-C can be compiled to execute on the JVM, which would make it processor independent. The purpose of the thesis is to examine if parts of the run-time environment of Plex-C can be translated to Java and if this can be done so that sufficient performance is obtained.

Vi har i detta arbete jämfört resultat i DLS-prov, moment läsförståelse, för ett antal elever i år 3 med deras resultat gällande läsförståelse vid de nationella proven. Vi ville se om dessa två prov bedömer läsförståelsen på samma sätt, för att se om DLS kan vara användbart som test för att hitta elever som behöver stöd när det gäller läsförståelse. Vårt resultat visar att det finns en överensstämmelse mellan våra elevers resultat på DLS-provet och samma elevers resultat på läsförståelsedelarna i de nationella proven för årskurs 3, 2011. Sambandet är signifikant starkare när vi jämför med resultaten på enbart Delprov B (läsning av skönlitterär text) än då vi jämför med resultaten för hela läsförståelseavsnittet respektive Delprov C (läsning av faktatext). Resultatet för våra elever tyder på att DLS kan vara användbart som test för att hitta elever som behöver stöd när det gäller läsförståelse av skönlitterära texter. Det är mer tveksamt om DLS är användbart för att fånga upp de elever som har svårigheter med läsförståelsen då det gäller läsning av faktatext. Det behövs dock mer tidskrävande och komplexa bedömningsformer för att vi ska kunna hjälpa eleverna att utveckla alla de förmågor och färdigheter som finns i kursplanemålen.

I studien har två experiment utförts med tyngdpunkt på arbetsminnets komponenter. Experimenten utgår från Baddeleys teori om arbetsminnet som är uppdelat på exekutiva funktioner för kontroll av olika undersystem, en fonologisk loop för auditiv information, ett visuospatialt skissblock för visuell information och en episodisk buffert för integrering av olika typer av information. För att testa dessa komponenter mot varandra utformades ett bildbaserat test för den episodiska bufferten. I experiment 2 ingick även två väletablerade test för kontroll av chunking och Stroop-effekten. Syftet var att kontrollera om det finns något samband mellan den episodiska bufferten och de andra komponenterna i Baddeleys min-nesmodell.

The main objective of this thesis was to develop appropriate strategies and find factors that affect the usability of parameterized designs. This was accomplished by investigate the user-interface and how it is designed to meet the user's information needs. The thesis also embraces the basic theories in terms of investigation, cognitive design principles and human behavior patterns in the interaction with the machine. The approach has led to an explorative investigation in this subject area.The thesis also had the purpose to achieve more efficient ways for development of motor chainsaws at Husqvarna AB's department Global Cutting Equipment. That can be achieved through reduce costs of development per sold unit.

Bakgrund: I Sverige finns det en könsskillnad som visar att flickor mår sämre och har en mer negativ självvärdering jämfört med pojkar. Självbilden är en stark bidragande orsak till barns psykiska hälsa och det finns ett samband mellan barns självbild och attityd till beröring. Metod: Tre enkäter: Jag Tycker Jag Är (JTJÄ), Ben Sira psychological distress (Bspd) och egenformulerade frågor om taktil massage (TM) samlades in bland 93 elever i årskurs sju från en mindre inlandsstad i södra Sverige. Svaren analyserades med oberoende t-test och Pearsons korrelationstest i SPSS 2.0.0. Resultat: Resultatet av ett oberoendet-test visade att det fanns en tendens till könsskillnad i en aspekt avsjälvvärdering (JTJÄ).
