Lake Bornsjön is situated 30 km southwest of Stockholm in a rift valley lake and consist three basins outstretched in northwest-southeast direction. The surface area is 6,7 km2 with a maximum depth of 18,3 meters, a mean depth of 9,8 meters and a retention time of the water of 6,5 years. The drainage area is 42 km2 and consists mainly of arable land (ca 1000 ha) and productive forestry land (2500 ha), but in the drainage area there are also restored and fairly newly constructed wetlands.Today the Stockholm area receives its drinking water from Lake Mälaren, but if there would be any pollution of this source, Lake Bornsjön would act as the water source. The area surrounding the lake was bought already in 1899 by Stockholm Stad for protection of the lake and was taken over 1993 by Stockholm Vatten AB. It has been a water protection area from 1988 and it was also accepted as a nature reserve in 1995.

This candidate essay is built on literature studies and discusses the meaning of the residential yard along with what you, as a landscape architect, should think about when you are designing functional residential yards. To do this I found it necessary to figure out what it is that makes people step outside their own apartment and out into the city?s public places. Hemp is an annual energy crop that fits very well in Swedish crop rotations. It is an interesting crop with many benefits, for example its ability to establish a large quantity of biomass in one year. Hemp is easy to grow and out-competes unwanted weeds through its aggressive growth pattern without the need for pesticides. Interest in growing hemp and other energy crops is currently decreasing, apparently because of high grain prices. These high prices give a higher net profit that we believe could partly cover the cost of hemp cultivation, while the hemp in turn would improve the crop rotation and thus repay its debts in the form of increased yields of other crops. The great disadvantage of hemp is the lack of knowledge about spring harvest of the crop.

Today?s farmers are constantly affected by the fluctuating world market prices on grain and thereby the price risk that comes with the price fluctuations. The volatile prices of grain increase the price risk within the business, which in turn affects the profitability of the business. The fluctuating prices together with the increased price risk within the farm business have opened up the market for hedging instruments. In this master thesis project, the aim is to identify the underlying end-values of 30 Swedish farmers? related to their choice of using hedging and the product; forward contract.

Handledare för en arbetsplatsförlagd lärlingsutbildning inom vården var positiva till att lärlingar befann sig på arbetsplatsen under längre sammanhängande perioder, dock upplevdes svårigheter med kommunikation och osäkerhet om lärlingarna fått med sig allt vad som krävs för yrket då de varken fick teoretiska omvårdnadskunskaper på arbetsplatsen eller i skolan.Syftet var att ur den handledande vård och omsorgspersonalens perspektiv beskriva möjligheter och hinder vid handledning av lärlingar i gymnasial omvårdnadsutbildning. Studien har en kvalitativ ansats och datainsamlingen skedde med inspiration av Critical Incident Technique (CIT). Intervjuer genomfördes med tio lärlingshandledare anställda inom regional hälso- och sjukvård eller kommunal omsorg om äldre och funktionshindrade i sydvästra Sverige. Strategiskt urval användes för att få variation avseende kön, utbildning samt yrkes- och handledarerfarenhet. Materialet analyserades enligt innehållsanalys.I resultatet framkom två huvudkategorier:Omfattningens betydelse vid arbetsplatsförlagd utbildning beskrev hur lärlingsutbildningens upplägg påverkade möjligheterna till lärande.

Metan är en stark växthusgas som är viktig att ta med i beräkningarna när det gäller klimatförändringar. Feedback från myrmarker vid en ökad temperatur i samband med klimatförändringar har diskuterats, bland annat eftersom myrmarker är en källa för metan till atmosfären. Det finns många faktorer som påverkar metanemission, och en av dom är vegetation. Olika sorts vegetation tros bidra olika mycket till avgivningen av metan. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur stor betydelse det har att ta med olika växtsamhällens sammansättning i beräkningarna för att uppnå korrekta uppskattningar av metanemission från myrmark på ekosystemnivå.

Energy consumption is at present a major political issue, and numerous projects that comprise many nations are currently in process to increase energy efficiency and bring down energy dependency. As a member state of the EU, Sweden now faces the challenge of implementing substantial energy-saving measures until the year 2016. One of these measures is the project ?Green Islands? financed by the EU that intend on creating sustainable islands in areas around the Baltic Sea. The Archipelago Foundation leads the project that concerns the Stockholm archipelago, where focus has been placed upon decreasing energy usage in businesses and services on Utö among other islands.
