Information om byggvaror tillhandahålls bland annat i form av byggvarudeklarationer och säkerhetsdatablad, vars syfte är att ge en bild av de ingående komponenterna och dess miljöpåverkan under hela varans livscykel. Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka de brister som finns i hanteringen av byggmaterialinformation och hur man ska gå tillväga för att förbättra dem. Arbetet har genomförts tillsammans med WSP och deras projekt BIM Green Box, ett projekt med avsikt att skapa en databas som på ett enklare sätt kan åskådliggöra och tillhandahålla information i olika byggvaror. I arbetet har en intervjustudie genomförts med olika aktörer i branschen för att samla in åsikter kring hantering av byggmaterialinformation. Resultatet från denna studie visar var det brister i informationen om byggmaterial. Bristerna handlar bland annat om otydliga krav från beställare och ofullständig dokumentation från leverantörer.

In this literature review the cemetery is studied in its role as a public space in an urban context. To be able to scrutinize the cemetery?s relationship to the public domain in the future, the cemetery?s background and history is studied in the beginning of the essay. The cemetery?s connection to the church, as well as a variety of other factors such as economic, architecture, hygienic aspects and different ideals has influenced the cemetery to be the place it is today.

I två översiktsartiklar har ledande europeiska och amerikanska forskare slagit fast att partiklar i emissioner från vedeldning och utsläpp vid småskalig biobränsleeldning generellt sett måste anses som skadligt för hälsan vid exponering, även i de låga halter som normalt förekommer i utomhusluften. Vad som dock saknas är kunskap kring hur denna "farlighet" förändras, och kan påverkas, då modern teknik används samt hur olika biobränslen förhåller sig i detta sammanhang. Med avseende på detta så genomfördes detta examensarbete i syfte att fastställa hur olika förbränningsförhållanden i en modifierad pelletskamin inverkar på rökgaspartiklarnas sammansättning m a p organiskt och elementärt kol. Vidare undersöktes om det är möjligt att stabilt generera en "sotande" förbränning under längre perioder för framtida toxikologiska studier av rökgaser från biomassa.Resultaten visar på att det är möjligt att med hjälp av de parametrar som funnits att variera, stabilt kunna generera olika sorters förbränningstyper i den nu använda och modifierade pelletskaminen där såväl totalhalten partiklar som fördelningen av organiskt och elementärt kol i partiklarna varierade. Detta är lovande och visar på att det på ett kontrollerat vis går att skapa emissioner under ofullständiga förbränningsförhållanden där partiklarna har olika karakteristik.För att genomföra mer ingående studier rekommenderas dock att vissa förbättringar och utveckling av tekniken genomförs, för ökad kontroll och flexibilitet.

The heat, wind and lack of water makes the need for durable plants, a good design and landscaping important if you want to have the opportunity to use your garden during most of the year. The soil is poor of nutrients, alkaline and sometimes saline, witch makes supplying the soil with organic material and various fertilizers necessary if you want to be able to plant a bigger range of plant material in your garden. Another important part is to provide your garden with a good irrigation system that should be put into the ground before planting so that the plants are given a more even irrigation. It?s relatively green scenery you meet and to me it?s in a way surprising since the country with its climate is rather harsh for the purpose of supporting plant life.

 Lantmännen i Holmsund tillverkar pelleterat djurfoder till gris, nöt, ren och höns. På fabriken finns tre stycken presslinjer som pressar råvarorna till pellets. Vid tillverkning av pellets blandas råvarorna med ånga som håller ca 75-78°C. Ångan gör att pelletsen blir varm och fuktig efter tillverkningen. För att pelletsen ska kunna hålla en god kvalité vid transport och förvaring torkas denna med luft i pelletskylar.

This bachelor thesis describes why investors should invest in environmentally certified buildings instead of non certified buildings. The report provides an overview of possible factors influencing an investor in the investment process of an environmentally certified building. The report explains why building companies find incentive to build green buildings and how a cash flow method can be adapted so it can be used in the valuation process of an environmentally certified building. Environmentally certified buildings are used as a strategy to reduce emissions that threaten the environment as well as a strategy to obtain market shares for the building companies. This report focuses on the economic advantages of an environmentally certified building.The construction- and real estate industry stands for approximately 40 percent of the energy consumption in the world.

Nature-like plantations are areas that, by today?s maintenance procedure usually gains low prioritiy and are forgotten. Most nature-like plantations are currently disadvantaged and have in many cases grown up and formed dense,impenetrable and brushwoody green volumes. These green volumes is rarely used, but usually only fills out gap surfaces. With proper care nature-like plantations can become health promoting environments in the increasinglyhardened urban environments.How vegetation systems work and how trees and shrubs interact is dependent on many factors.

We were accepted to the field study Dignity and therefore chose to write our thesis in connection with it. Our subject is the oasis of Siwa in Egypt. The society has long been isolated, and therefore, the city has been able to preserve their handicraft methods and values. We chose to study the Ecological and Handicraft Development Center, which is a newly opened center for craft production. We wanted to see how the centre could use storytelling as a marketing strategy.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to observe and describe the work environment of veterinary nurses, focused on fysical ergonomics, in a Small Animal hospital. Method: An observational study was made in the stationary ward in an animal hospital. The observation was based on a checklist from the Swedish Work Environment Authority. Six veterinary nurses was observed over three hours when they nursed the patients. The checklist contained paragraphs concerning work postures, manuell work, knowledge, competence and the design of the workplace. Result: The results was divided into three categories; red, yellow and green.

Målet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka hur de metallurgiska och fysikaliska egenskaperna på direktreduktionspelletsen av kvalitetn KPRS (Kiruna Pellets Reduktion Special) påverkas av förändringar i nedmalningsgrad, järnmalmskoncentratets nedmalningsgrad med avseende på specifika yta och tillsatsmedlets mätt i procent mindre än 45µm. Försöken utfördes i laboratorieskala med upplägg enligt ett fullfaktorförsök. Järnmalmskoncentratet och tillsatsmedlet som används vid försöken har tagits ut från anrikningsprocessen, av detta material har sedan pellets tillverkas i en så kallad pot furnace som kan simulera pelletsprocessen. På färdiga pellets har det sedan utförts en rad tester. Då försöken med nedmalningsgrad ej var fullt genomförbara kompletterades arbetet med en multivariat studie av ATH.

During the winter 2011 Isaksson and Andersson did a time budget study on Nordens Ark?s Przewalskis horses during daytime when there were visitors and caretakers in the park. This time budget study was made during daytime and when there were no visitors or caretakers in the park. The horses where observed in the morning (5.30-6.30 am) and in the evening (5.45-6.45 pm) during four days. In addition to a time budget, the horses? positions in the enclosure were registered.

Old industrial sites bear witness of the unsustainable industrial developments in the past. Today many of them stand abandoned and empty, old structures lacking function in our present society. We have in this thesis participated in a visionary student competition arranged by IFLA, International Federation of Landscape Architecture by developing a proposal based on a vision of how Stockholm can stimulate a greener development. We have done this by turning an unsustainable industrial site in the city into an ecological node; Arboretum Lövholmen. Our aim is to develop an entry for IFLA?s visionary student competition by creating a new sustainable design for the industrial area of Lövholmen in Stockholm. We have worked with the following research questions: How can we create a visionary design proposal for Lövholmen that promotes sustainable development with the help of ecological design? How can the competition format be a design tool? How can the working process developing a competition entry progress? The competition demands have shaped our working process and functioned as a platform for the structure of this thesis.

Staphylococcus aureus belongs to the normal flora. Many healthy people are colonized by the bacterium mainly in the nose but also on the skin and on other mucous membranes without showing symptoms. After damage to the skin, the bacterium can enter the wound and cause infections. Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) is resistant to b-lactam antibiotics such as penicillin and methicillin.

En studie över jämförelsen av fjärrvärme i Helsingborg och bergvärme har utifrån resursutnyttjande, klimatpåverkan och ekonomi genomförts. Till detta har scenarion med solcellsanläggningar som komplement till bergvärmesystemet jämförts. Genom att förbruka fjärrvärme istället för bergvärme så skulle ett Nils Holgersson hus under 2013 förbruka 25 MWh mindre primärenergi, vilket mostsvarar 2 ton råolja och 5 ton pellets. Det billigaste bergvärmesystemet i studien hade en årskostnad på 9 000 kr mer än fjärrvärmen. Beroende på ursprungsmärkningen av elen utnyttjad i bergvärmesystemet variera koldioxid resultatet.

This paper contains an analysis that sets out to investigate how sustainable development is portrayed in textbooks used in gymnasium level civics education. The study covers three textbooks, all in current use. The paper sets out to explore the relationship between the books chapters on economics and those about environmental issues. The sum of these two parts is in the context supposed to make up the books big picture of green sustainable development, i.e. the ecological aspect of sustainable development. An analytical model will be used to categorise and compare the three textbooks.The method chosen for this is analysis of ideas by use of ideal types.
