Less is More - en studie om utformningen av inlägg på sociala medier
Theory has concluded that consumers evaluate advertising not only based on what the advertiser's message aims to communicate, but also how the message is communicated. As the most popular activity on the world's largest social media channels is to upload and share photos, it has become crucial for advertisers to define strategies that maximize the reach of photo posts. Two observed variations of images used in posts are graphical images and digital photographs. The aim of this study is to investigate which of these two strategies that generate most positive impact on the sender and its brand. 230 users of the Chinese Facebook and Twitter counterpart, Sina Weibo, were exposed to manipulated Sina Weibo posts after which they answered a survey.
Today, Ericsson Microwave Systems (EMW) uses non-graphical user interfaces in some of their Ada95 applications. EMW wishes to develope a more easy-to-use and platform independent graphical user interface (GUI) for their applications. To meet these requirements EMW has chosen to evaluate Java in GUI development with Ada95. To make it possible for the Java GUI to communicate with the Ada95 application, some kind of standardized interface is required. CORBA is a specification of such an interface.
Microsoft launched a new operating system, Windows 8, during 2012. An interesting feature for Windows 8 is that applications can be developed using different programming languages but still provide the same functionality regardless of the language used. Two combinations of programming languages are: XAML with C# and HTML with JavaScript. This thesis examines if there are any advantages or disadvantages when choosing a specific combination of languages to develop Windows 8 applications with. An application has been developed and analyzed for the SwedishTransport Agency during the thesis project..
Design and Implementation of an Application. Programming Interface for Volume Rendering
To efficiently examine volumetric data sets from CT or MRI scans good volume rendering applications are needed. This thesis describes the design and implementation of an application programming interface (API) to be used when developing volume-rendering applications. A complete application programming interface has been designed. The interface is designed so that it makes writing application programs containing volume rendering fast and easy. The interface also makes created application programs hardware independent.
GCM is a product information management system which handles data for consumer packaged goods. GCM was developed during the middle of the nineties and was acquired by Prevas AB in 2004. The GCM application relies on the services provided by the organization GS1, which supplies global specifications and validations for trade items across several sectors. GCM is updated regularly due to the frequent changes in specifications from GS1. However, the overall graphical user interface design has not been redesigned during these years. This dissertation studies possible improvements for the webpage that handles product data in GCM.
According to the study [1] several firefighters are killed in action each year. This happens naturally in various ways. One of the major factors is that firefighters often do not know how the environment looks like, for example that a building in an industrial area contains hazardous gas cylinders. Without a solution, fire-fighters will continue to die in duty. It is therefore important to solve this problem so that we can minimize the risks and save lives. The goal of this project was a control system for pneumatic artificial muscles.

In today?s society computers are getting a much more important role. To get a computer to work as intended it has to be programmed. A computer program is written with programming languages. There is an abundance of programming languages available today and there are many differences and similarities between them.
Chunks and Tasks is a programming model based on the C ++ programming language. This programming model is used for electronic structure calculations, among other things. The purpose of this project is to improve the CHT-MPI software library for Chunks and tasks, so that calculations of matrix-matrix multiplications are performed more efficiently than they do with the existing software library. The software library is based on the work stealing method, which is a method the software library for Chunks and Tasks uses for the distribution of the calculation work. The considered way to improve the software library is by modifying the work stealing method in a way that makes the distribution of calculation work happen in a more efficient way , which will lead to calculations performed faster than before. Two different modifications of the work stealing method were tested and it led to two new methods, Method 1 and Method 2, which distributed the calculation work differently. Method 1 did not give results that were compatible with the theory, since the calculation time with this method was much longer than the previous method.
In visual programming the developer specifies her code, using visual tools. Within the range of visual programming languages lay icon-based languages, form-based languages, and diagram languages.Mediator is a multimedia authoring tool that allows the user to create interactive CD-ROM presentations, dynamic HTML pages and Flash projects, without any coding or scripting. The user can create interactivity in her project, using event driven and icon-based visual programming, through a ?drag and drop? user interface. This report intends to determine some of the qualifications of a tool of this kind, as well as its limitations. The report is based on a case study, in which a smaller software application was to be updated using Mediator 9.
Konceptframtagning av pelletsförråd
This thesis work resulted in a template for how the thermal spray process can be controlled through robot programs. The robots today and their programs need to be replaced, therefore a new structure which can be matched with the new robot systems is needed. The work is limited to only concern structured programming on the new robots on Thermal Spray Centre (TC) with the programming language Rapid. The basic data for the program was retrieved from interviews with concerned personnel at TC, from studies on process parameters for thermal spray and from existing specifications at Volvo Aero Corporation (VAC). The thesis work briefly describes the process thermal spray and the four methods used at VAC.

What is creativity? Why is it important? How can you stimulate pupils to becomemore creative? These are some of the questions that are studied in this thesis. The discussion is focused on programming as the medium of creativity and theresult is a setup for a course book that teaches programming at the same time asit makes the reader more creative. The results are based on literature study aswell as observations and interviews with teachers and pupils from three differentschools in Stockholm, Sweden. The study shows that gets more important everyday as more and more jobs are replaced by computers and we live in an age ofabundance. The teachers would like the pupils to be more creative but don?tknow how achieve that at the same time as they have to teach them everythingthat they are supposed to know when the course ends..
C# : Framtidens språk???
This paper is about the new programming language from Microsoft, C# (See Sharp) and the .NET Framework. They are still in beta-version, but will be released on the market in February 2002. This paper presents C#, not in detail but the characteristics that distinguish the language. A comparison is done with C++ and Java, since C# is most resembling to these languages. Both C# and Java have been developed from the mother- language C++.

When a videogame is being played it is rarely a static experience. A videogame can consist of various systems that affect each other in an unpredictable manner which makes the player experience unique for every player.Throughout the years developers of games have used random chance in a games programming to affect the user experience. Sometimes it even goes so far as to having entire games based around the idea of the game itself randomly generating content for a player to experience. This paper will examine randomly generated content in videogames. It will take examples from existing ones and describe how they use it, and reason regarding the benefits and drawbacks of having random chance affect the user experience. The paper will step-by-step examine the purpose of various commonly occurring objects and features of a typical dungeon in an adventure videogame. It will reason around their purpose, and figure out ways to use them in a structured manner so that we can guarantee that there will be no deadlocks that the player can't overcome. This will range from the environments in rooms, the shape of them, to the objects and creatures that inhabit them, such as locked doors, keys, and bosses.
