AbstractPurpose/Aim: This essay deals with The Swedish Red Cross Society and their work concerning strategical information and communication about HIV and AIDS in the Swedish context. In a broader sense the relation between the global and the local will be investigated and a discussion about what it means to work in an organization operating on a global arena will be held.Material/Method: This essay is based on relevant theories about culture and health communication which I have studied, selected and put together, with purpose to analyse The Swedish Red Cross Society and their informational work with HIV and AIDS- prevention. Furthermore I have interviewed four of the organizations co- workers to collect data about their experiences in working in the Red Cross organization with this specific mission. Moreover I and my colleague Hillevi Good attended at seminars and lectures to observe activities held by the organization and to get inside information about what people working with HIV and AIDS are discussing and considering as critical issues. The study holds a qualitative approach focusing on understanding this typical case rather then generalizing facts in a larger sense.Main results: The Swedish National Society of The Red Cross has a difficult mission in their work to inform the public about HIV and AIDS, although it is the perfect organization when it comes to communication due to their well-known profile and a huge geographical spread.

Since the middle of the 1980´s the Swedish bank market has experienced a change concerning structure and pressure of competition. Before the year 1985, the market was characterized as a market with few operators but have changed to a market with many operators and seen as one of the most intense in Europe where the four major banks; Nordea, Handelsbanken, SEB and Föreningssparbanken together have a strong position. Their market share has recently decreased, mostly for the benefit of foreign banks and niche banks. The Swedish market has experienced difficulties in generating profits which mostly depends on new establishments that have increased the pressure on competition, a low growth as well as weakened customer relations. The development has resulted in a growing importance of market segmentation, mainly by the fact that costumers have become more disloyal as a result of the increased competition.Students are a market segment of interest for the financial market, mainly because of the expectations of their positive financial situation in the future.

SammanfattningBakgrund: Äldre är en växande grupp i samhället som är samtidigt sårbar ur ett hälsosynpunkt. Detta på grund av de fysiologiska förändringarna och förändringarna i livssituationen. Förändringarna i livssituationen så som pensionering och förlusta av partner kan förknippas orsaka känslor av ensamhet och meningslöshet.Syfte: Syftet med undersökningen är att framförallt belysa området upplevd ensamhet-hälsa-meningsfullhet hos seniorer. Studiens sekundära syfte är att undersöka huruvida den upplevda ensamheten har någon relation till upplevelse av hälsa hos seniorer samt att se om den upplevda meningsfullheten i livet har någon relation till upplevelser av hälsa och ensamhet.Metod: Ett frågeformulär (Health Profile Institute Seniorprofil) delades ut till 25 hemmaboende seniorer (65år och uppåt) från Täby kommun. Testpersonerna var besökare på Täby Seniorcenter.   Frågeformulär fylldes i på egen hand.

Dagens företag lever i en alltmer komplicerad och komplex omvärld där bilden av dem skapas genom ständig samverkan mellan vad de egentligen gör och hur det förklaras vilket i sin tur skapar bilden av företaget. I Jönköpingsregionen finns det ett flertal kommunikations-, PR- och reklambyråer, definitionerna är många, men i stort erbjuder de liknande tjänster. För att kunna differentiera sig gentemot konkurrenter har positionering blivit ett allt viktigare ledningsinstrument, konsumentens bild av företaget är den avgörande faktorn mellan misslyckande och framgång och i sin tur överlevnad. Utvecklingen har medfört att nyckeln till framgång ligger i företagets förmåga att värdera och kommunicera sin interna och externa identitet i relation till sin önskade profil och inte som tidigare genom kvalité eller produktöverlägsenhet. Konsumenternas uppfattning och känsla för företaget blir den avgörande faktorn vid valet av samarbetspartner, ett finansiellt värde kan i sin tur tillskrivas varumärkesidentiteten när den bidrar till att skapa en positiv och fördelaktig bild av företagets tjänster och produkter.

Under 2 månaders tid har jag befunnit mig på ett kontor i Alvesta, närmarebestämt hos sken- och konsolsystemstillverkaren Hyllteknik. Där har jag som denförsta designern någonsin på företaget jobbat nära dess ledning i arbetet med att tafram en ny skärmvägg.I designarbetet har jag fokuserat på, och lyckats med, att effektivisera produktenstillverkningsprocess och produktionskostnader. Designen har också en genomgripandemiljömedvetenhet. Bland annat har min efterforskning av miljövänligamaterial resulterat i att skärmväggens stålram håller en ljudabsorbent som består av100% polyesterfiber och har samma kretslopp som återvinningsbara PET-flaskor.Detta material har absorptionsklass A, med andra ord fungerar skärmen som enutmärkt ljuddämpare. Målet är att nå ut till kontor med en miljömedveten strävan,mån om de anställdas arbetsmiljö vad det gäller kontorets ljudlandskap och skapandetav rumsliga ytor för trivsel och arbete.För att ihopkopplade skärmväggar ska sluta tätt och kunna bära hyllplan har jag ritaten helt ny stålprofil som utgör skärmens gavlar.

The competitive nature of the automotive industry has always implied a necessity to improve product development concerning time-to-market, cost and product quality. As capacity of computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools has evolved, so has the strive for simulation-driven design. Virtual durability testing using full vehicle models is one of many challenges posed in front of vehicle manufacturers when computer simulations are given a key role in product development.This thesis has been initiated as a preliminary step towards implementing dynamic virtual durability testing in the development of buses and coaches at Scania. The objective has been to assess the predictability of a full vehicle coach model and to what level of precision structural loads can be predicted. Previously performed proving ground testing of a Scania Touring coach has been the basis for the modelling and simulations in this thesis.A virtual model of the Scania Touring coach has been created in multi-body simulation software package MSC.Adams.

The purpose of this study was to research the way people choose to present them self and how the communication on an internet dating site is used.

Wind power is an energy source that is becoming increasingly popular in Sweden and around the world. The establishment of large wind farms supply and contributes to energy production within grid in search of a more sustainable energy production. Wind power is becoming more popular and opens up new areas of implementation. More cities are starting to use small-scale urban wind power, everything from full-scale work for a little less work adapted to the villas. Sweden has high goals regarding the production of green electricity and the work which deals with the conditions Sweden plays in achieving those goals.

Business unit Cylinder at ASSA AB in Eskilstuna are having problem with frictions in their production process. Changes are occurring and older products along with machineries are phased out and transferred to low-cost countries. This opens up possibilities to at a larger extend customize physical flows after production flows. The authors where given the task to analyze the production and find problem areas to improve and to give suggestion on how Business unit Cylinder can work to optimize their production flow.The aim of the thesis work is to come up with suggestions on how to reduce the lead time in production and how the tied up capital can be reduced. In more detail the task included to find problem areas that are counteracting an effective flow, give solutions on new flows for the production of the cylinder core, give suggestions for new stock points for the production and how the production shall be managed and controlled.During the last twelve months ASSA AB has sold over 700 different types of cylinder cores, and the product range is very wide.

It has become more and more common that companies in the service sector are beginning to understand their own effect on the environment and thus the need to contribute to a sustainable development through acting in a deliberate way. Serious environmental work can help a company to improve their image and in that way win competitive advantage that leads to improved profitability. In a short time perspective, adjustment to the environment is an opportunity to gain competitive advantage and an opportunity to develop a profile. In a long time perspective it is about survival. The environmental work has become a sequel to the work with quality.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att utveckla en metod som, istället för metallanalyser, kan förutsäga bleksvaret i efterföljande peroxidblekning av pappersmassa. Det är allmänt känt att övergångsmetaller katalyserar sönderfallet av väteperoxid mycket effektivt, där mangan, koppar och järn är de effektivaste katalysatorerna vid massablekning. Vid Östrands massabruk (dåvarande SCA Graphic Sundsvall AB), där arbetet utfördes, var koncentrationen av mangan högre än andra skadliga metaller, varför mangan hade en mycket betydande roll. Metallanalyser kan användas för att i viss mån förutsäga bleksvaret i efterföljande peroxidblekningar. Dessa analyser är dock kostsamma, långsamma och komplicerade varför en billig, snabb och enkel metod är att föredra.

The intention of my studies is to explore the field of musical learning from the pupil's point of view. This master thesis is the second of two Grounded Theory studies based on interviews.In study no1 Learning of music from the pupils' point of view (Pemsel, 2009) I asked ten pupils, soon to be graduates, to express their own experience of musical learning. The selection of informants was made after reading a questionnaire an- swered by a group of 60 pupils attending different programs at a typical Swedish upper secondary school. The ten selected informants had all chosen several music courses their latest years in school. The questionnaire had two purposes; one was to construct musical profiles of the pupils, the other was to select informants for the interviews.

Atopisk dermatit hos hund (CAD) är en kliande hudsjukdom med komplex patogenes som involverar felreglering av immunförsvaret, allergisk sensibilisering, defekter i hudbarriären, mikrobiell kolonisation samt olika miljöfaktorer. Dock är den inbördes relationen mellan dessa faktorer inte klargjord. En ökad förståelse för sjukdomens patogenes, bland annat den immunologiska bakgrunden inklusive vilken T-cells- och cytokinprofil som kännetecknar sjukdomen, skulle kunna öka drabbade hundars livskvalitet genom förbättrade behandlingsmetoder. Studier har undersökt cellinfiltrat och visat att både CD4+ och CD8+ T-celler förekommer i ökade mängder i huden hos AD-hundar, och således att det finns Th-celler samt CTLs och/eller suppressoriska T-celler i denna hud. Dessa studier hittade också förhöjda CD4/CD8-kvoter, vilket visar på en ökad lymfocytreaktivitet.

Dagens teknik har bidragit till att mobiltelefonens användningsområden har expanderat avsevärt de senaste åren. Detta har lett till att alltfler mobila tjänster har dykt upp på marknaden. Uppgiften i detta examensarbete består i att utveckla en version anpassad för mobiltelefoner av den existerande produkten TelMe, som är en webbtjänst för vikarietillsättning inom olika verksamheter. Den mobilanpassade versionen kommer att gå under namnet TelMe Mobile. Problemställningen var att implementera de väsentliga funktionerna i produkten med avsikt för att göra dessa tillgängliga för mobiltelefoner.

During the past decade environmental challenges have been intensified and given increased attention. This implies that businesses in all sectors strategically need to manage these challenges. The service sector is often considered as a sector with a low environmental impact if the direct environmental aspects are assessed. Still, it has been argued that the environmental impact that the sector gives rise to can create severe indirect environmental impacts. The products and services that are produced by this sector have a relatively limited use of physical resources which may make the environmental impact challenging to visualize. Banks belong to the service sector and it is partly banks that make the development of societies possible.
