In the new media society, social media has become an important part of many organizations' daily lives. Organizations, whether public or private, must be where their audience is and many times, these can be found on social media channels like Facebook. Leading researchers in the fields of crisis communication and relationship management believe that social media is a great tool for managing relationships between an organization and its' public, whether it's before, during or after a crisis.The purpose of this study is to examine how the Karlstad municipality use Facebook to manage civic relations before, during and after a crisis. The municipality's approach will be compared to the citizens' experiences of the municipality's communication in different stages of a crisis.The theoretical framework used in this essay is the research on crisis communication and relationship management. How these two frameworks can be integrated with social media like Facebook, is an important part of understanding how the Karlstad municipality make use of Facebook to manage civic relations and communicate before, during and after a crisis.The empirical study consists of a qualitative interview, two qualitative content analysis and an online survey.

The effects of the climate changes are expected to generate several substantial direct and indirect consequences on both ecosystems and societies. It is the extent of the negative consequences that determents the vulnerability of the things or the ones exposed. The knowledge of the effects and consequences by a changing climate provides an opportunity to take measures to reduce the vulnerability.Our society?s vulnerability depends on how we choose to act out of the existing knowledge and what measures we choose to take. Karlstad municipality has good knowledge and perception of the increased flood risks the climate changes will generate and the probable consequences that most likely will follow. How the municipality decides to manage the flooding issue is not just affected by the will to mitigate the vulnerability but also by the vision to increase the number of citizens.

Mitt syfte var att undersöka hur risken för översvämningar påverkar den fysiska planeringen generellt, samt att göra en fallstudie angående översvämningsrisker i Karlstad och hur dessa påverkar kommunens tillväxtvision ?Karlstad 100 000?. Undersökningen har främst gjorts genom litteraturstudier och granskningar av olika utredningar och utvecklingsdokument.Sverige har under de senaste åren drabbats av flera, både större och mindre, översvämningar av områden nära sjöar och vattendrag, vilka har resulterat i allvarliga miljökonsekvenser, ekonomiska förluster samt svåra skador på infrastruktur och andra samhällsfunktioner. Och klimatförändringarna förväntas förvärra problemen ytterligare. Samhällets sårbarhet inför översvämningar beror på hur stor klimatförändringen blir, men även på hur stor hänsyn som tagits till riskerna i utformningen av den fysiska planeringen.

Men städerna växer och kräver större plats och effektivare användning av mark.Rapporten beskriver olika sätt att tillämpa hållbar utveckling för ett stadsområde med kulturintressen, detta med bevarande och stärkande av dess kulturhistoriska värden samtidigt som en utveckling sker.Området som har valts som exempel är kvarteret Almen i Karlstad. Kvarteret är relevant i sammanhanget då det pågår utredningar runt kvarterets utveckling. Kvarteret Almen har även flera kulturbyggnader. Arbetet har genomförts tillsammans med Sweco Architects i Karlstad och Karlstad kommun.Projektet har som mål att utveckla området i de sociala och ekologiska aspekterna av hållbarhet, samtidigt som kulturintressena tas om hand.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur lojala Friskis & Svettis medlemmar i Karlstad är och vidare varför de är lojala. Lojala kunder leder till lönsamhet. Med en lojal kundbas minskar kundomsättningen, vilket gör att företaget inte ständigt måste attrahera nya kunder.I vår uppsats har vi använt oss av en kvantitativ metod. Vi har skickat ut en enkät till ett urval av 600 av Friskis & Svettis medlemmar. 200 av dessa ingår i analysen.

There are guidelines from the European Union how to handle situations like this, the purpose of these are to protect the employees. There are also Swedish laws that regulate the protection of the employees when a company is acquired, who is going to keep their job and who is to be made redundant.The transaction between the companies is large why they need an approval from the European Union. The European Union has certain demands for the approval.

The purpose of this essay is to examine if the municipality has a real freedom of action to control the use of the land and the shaping of the buildings in a large and prestigious building project.In Karlstad there is now (2006) a large building project in form of a shopping mall. This project is in its final stage of completion and offers me a suitable case to examine. To undertake the purpose of the essay, the following research question is formulated:Do the municipality have a real freedom of action to control the use of the land and the shaping of the buildings in a large and prestigious building project as the Mitt I City project?In an attempt to examine the project and the planning process, three themes are applied. The first theme derives from the hypothesis that the part that initiate the process gets the upper hand as future discussions are taking place in relation to the original ideas.

Företag ser idag sina medarbetare som sin viktigaste resurs, som genom dess kompetens bevarar och skapar kontakter med kunder. Det är kunderna som avgör om de varor och tjänster som levereras innehar den kvalité som kunden efterfrågar. För att få svar på hur medarbetarna anser om sin arbetsplats och även vad kunderna tycker om företagen görs human- och marknadskapitalmätningar.Vi har i vår uppsats undersökt vilken vikt de två storbanker, Föreningssparbanken och SEB, lägger på sina human- och marknadskapitalmätningar. Studien är gjord utifrån en enkätundersökning på de två ovannämnda bankerna i Karlstad samt intervjuer med tre respondenter.Resultatet av vår studie visar hur medarbetarna och ledningen ser på mätningarna och de effekter som blir till följd av dessa åsikter.Med hjälp av vårt framarbetade material så kan vi i vår slutsats styrka vår antydan om att ledningen lägger stor vikt vid mätningarna av human- och marknadskapital som vi trodde innan vi börjadevårt uppsatsskrivande. During the 20th century Sweden faced an increased proportion of workers registered as part-time unemployed, especially in the care sector. However, due to many valuable efforts, aimed at solving the problem of part time unemployment and political decisions, the number of people who are part-time unemployed has declined since the late 20th century. We have investigated part-time workers preferential right to extending their working hours. According to Section 25 a of the Employment Protection Act, part-time employees who have submitted an interest in increasing their working hours has a preferential right to increased working hours, with the assumptions that full-time employment with the employer will meet a labor need that the employee has sufficient qualifications for.Qualitative interviews have given us information about how Karlstad Community and a private care company deal with part-time unemployment and their workers preferential right to extending their working hours. We have found that people who work for Karlstad Community have an opportunity to choose their number of workings hours, thanks to a political decision made in Karlstad Community, aimed at solving the part time unemployment in the care sector.
