In a global context the traditional democratic process is facing new challenges. Scholars are talking about a transition from government to governance, where local and regional networks as well as international collaboration are an important part in how regional policy is produced and implemented. In this paper the processes in regional projects funded by the European Union are considered, and related to the traditional democratic process. The study has been fulfilled through informant interviews with representatives from four EU-projects. The interviews are supplemented by a qualitative text analysis of current statutes.

Bakgrund och problem: Ett av de mest kontroversiella och omdiskuterade redovisningsområdena är ersättningar till anställda, eftersom de är komplexa och har en föränderlig natur. Vid värderingen krävs aktuariella antaganden och nuvärdesberäkning med en diskonteringsränta. Diskonteringsräntan är ett väsentligt antagande, eftersom den har en stor påverkan på pensionsskuldens storlek. Enligt IAS 19 ska statsobligationsräntan användas i Sverige, eftersom det inte finns en fungerande marknad för förstklassiga företagsobligationer. En del av de svenska företagen använder bostadsobligationsräntan (BO) som en form av företagsobligationsränta.

The decrease in the number of dairy farms in Sweden has been ongoing for a longer period of time. But the fact is that this has previously not had any big effects on total amount of milk produced in Sweden. The main reason is that the remaining dairy farms get larger. However, during the past year, there has been a decrease in the total amount of produced milk, because the decrease is faster than the increase within the farms that are left. During the same period of time the supply of milk on the global market also has decreased. In spite of the fact that the global supply have decreased and the fact that the milk price increases, there are dairy farmers in Sweden who chose to exit the market.

Nuförtiden är det stora flertalet försörjningskedjor internationella till sin karaktär och trenden går alltmer mot fokuserade fabriker. Det innebär att ett fåtal fabriker som var och en fokuserar på ett fåtal produkter tar hand om produktionen för hela världsmarknaden. Då tillverkningen sker på få utvalda platser och marknader världen över ska försörjas ifrån dessa krävs ett globalt distributionssystem som ska klara av att hantera den ökade konkurrensen, kundernas krav på kortare ledtider och den ökade differentieringen av produkter.Det finns olika strategier för att hantera ett globalt distributionssystem. Syftet med denna uppsats är att utreda om en transitlagerstrategi kan vara ett konkurrenskraftigt komplement eller alternativ till de mer vanligt förekommande distributionsstrategierna. Studien har gjorts genom att skapa ett teoretiskt ramverk vilket beskriver hur det globala distributionssysteme kan hanteras.

En effektiv och populär grafisk effekt för realtidsgrafik är Screen-Space Ambient Occlusion(SSAO). Teknikens nackdel är brusiga artefakter som kan dämpas med blur filtrering. Detta arbete studerar upplevelsen av defekterna i SSAO med en användarstudie. Arbetet implementerar en renderare som renderar bildrutor från kameraåkningar och ett visningsprogram som används i experimentgenomförandet. Renderade bilder utan och med aktiv blur-filtrering visas för försökspersoner som får beskriva om de ser skillnader mellan bilderna och välja vilken bild de föredrar.

Frågan om ekonomisk ojämlikhet tillhör kanske en av de mest kontroversiella frågorna genom historien. Åsikterna om fördelar och nackdelar med ekonomisk ojämlikhet, men kanske framförallt graden av ojämlikhet går isär. Det har till en början inom forskningen antagits att ekonomisk ojämlikhet är en förutsättning för tillväxt genom att det frambringar investeringar och är viktigt för incitamentsskapandet. Ny forskning tyder däremot på att tillväxt och ekonomisk ojämlikhet har ett negativt samband, särskilt när förhållandet studeras på lång sikt. Om så är fallet har detta stor betydelse för ekonomiska och politiska beslut.

Westinghouse i Västerås består av olika arbetsområden, dessa i sin tur har egna organisationer samt en global organisation. Syftet med denna studie är att förstå bristen på förståelse vid förändringsarbete samt kommunikationen mellan ledningen och de anställda i de olika arbetsområdena, tekniker och projekt ledare. Till detta har ett verktyg formats för att bemöta attityder som förhindrar förändringsarbetet på Westinghouse i Västerås. Tidigare studier visar på att förändringsarbete bemötts av konflikter, attityder samt hot från olika verksamheter inifrån och även utifrån organisationen. Olika författare syftar till olika strategier för förändringsarbete och hur dessa kan leva vidare efter projektets avslutande.

Abstract Tutor - Anders Richtnér History - Theories suggest that Lean Product Development strategies dramatically increase a company's performance through enabling faster T-T-M, Quality and Costs of Product Development. Purpose - The purpose of this paper is therefore to investigate whether the implementation of LPD actually affect corporate performance measurements T-T-M, Quality and Cost, in a positive way. Methodology - This Bachelor thesis is an exploratory investigation of the concept of Lean Product Development within a global IT- company, performed through four case studies, interviews and complementing corporate performance data. Findings - With empirical data and subsequent analyzes in mind, we note the following; it is clear that the project that produced the best results, in terms of T-T-M, Quality and Cost, also was the one furthest in the process of implementing Lean Product Development..

In early January 2010 the authors participated in a meeting with the chief engineer for a company in which a central part is manufacturing of printed circuit boards (PCB). At this meeting it emerged that the machinery and production methods have changed substantially since the early 1990's. The spreadsheet for preliminary production time calculations by the company is today based on conditions from almost 20 years ago. The company has over the years been trying to adjust the spreadsheet template. The result of these adjustments has filled it with historical residue, something which makes the template difficult and time consuming when the primary user tries to handle it.The purpose of this study was to help the company increase its accuracy in the representation of the production times for the different PCB-based products by developing a new costing model based on an already existing but inadequate spreadsheet template. The company also expressed the wish that the new costing model would be less time consuming to work with.The methods used to achieve the goal are interviewing, participatory observations and meetings with relevant persons. The data obtained were analyzed using the theory on PCB production and visualization of data.

When SKL (Swedish National Laboratory of Forensic Science) gets images to analyse, the task often is to identify a person or an object. In that work it?s important to find features. Unfortunately images from camera surveillances often contain a lot of noise, so details can be hard to discern.A simple method to improve an image from a sequence is to compute the mean of some of the images. However, the part of interest in the image has to be in the same position in all images.

This work presents the way exiled Tibetans I?ve met view gender and equality. The world is becoming increasingly global and in order to educate future world citizens it is important to make sure that they learn about gender and equality. Males and Females have different cultures and where manly is the norm female is the exception, but it is important to try and level out these differences while children are still in school. This work originates from studies of literature and several interviews with exiled Tibetans in the Indian city of Dharamsala. They are Tibetans with different roles in the exile-Tibetan society and also of different generations and gender.

Hur ser teknikutvecklingen ut samt hur ser köpare och säljare på budgivningsprocessen. Syfte med denna studie är att kartlägga budgivningsprocess ur fyra olika perspektiv samt att analysera skillnader och likheter i deras synsätt.Budgivningsprocessen är till sin natur sådan att olika aktörer agerar på samma spelplan men ur olika perspektiv.

Our time is characterized by the development of new technologies that facilitate communication between people. The need for Video Mediated Communication (VMC) is increasing because people move to other locations due to migration and global mobility. VMC provides the opportunity for millions of people around the world to ?hang out? and see each other despite the distance in between. The world is "shrinking" because of the Internet and our perception of distance is changing.VMC is becoming increasingly available, in the form of applications like Skype and MSN for mobile phones and computers, and in addition, it?s practically free.The purpose of this thesis is to render a picture of the way in which people use Skype in the private sphere.

Today's global market means that raw materials are sought and bought from all over the world. This creates an higher demand for a well-functioning supply chain. In our thesis we have studied a large paper mill in northen Sweden which experiences issues with flow of raw material. Our aim has hence been to examine which aspects affect the flow of raw materials to the mill, and how these can be adressed using an IT-system. The question we sought to answer was; What factors are important to consider and how do these affect the ability of an IT-system which will support the flow of raw material at the paper mill? We have found that the problems are strongly connected to the low amount of information sharing between the mill and the suppliers.
