The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if there are environments that use some kind of central authentication system within institutions/schools. The hypothesis is that an institution not using a form of central authentication service has more need for maintenance and as such is considered a higher cost for the organization. The gathering of data has been done through interviews with technical personal at Blekinge Tekniska Högskola and Linköpings Universitet. Based on the technical background of the authors, and the system limited to discussing Windows and UNIX operating systems, a discussion and analysis of the systems working today has been done, with emphasize on the hypothesis..

This thesis is dealing with how students living in a student corridor experience the circumstances in their corridor. The aim is through interviews with students living in the corridors get a inside look at their situations. I want to examine how changed conditions of life, new meetings and new experiences will influence their personalities. How are the students living in the corridors affected by conflicts and how do they protect themselves from the influence of the rest of the group living there? In addition to that I want to know what they think is important prioritises throughout their student time, like if there are anything important that a student should take time to do beside the studies.

Narrative history has a long tradition in history teaching. But during the decades after the second world war, the attitude to storytelling has been seen with doubt and skepticism. There are many indications in Swedish society and media that the narrative story today stand strong. But is narrative history useful in everyday teaching? This essay is a study of narrative history in a Swedish and Scandinavian perspective the latest thirty years.

Syftet med denna studie har varit att kartlägga några ämneslärares erfarenheter kring arbete med ämnesspråk och skrivande, samt att se om det finns kopplingar mellan deras arbetssätt och den genrepedagogiska metoden. En analys av styrdokumenten för gymnasieskolan har gjorts för att ta reda på vad dessa säger om arbetet med skrivandet, samt att se om läroplanen lyfter upp genrepedagogiska synsätt. Vi har använt oss av intervjuer. Resultatet av intervjustudien visar att skrivandet tar olika mycket plats i undervisningen hos de intervjuade lärarna. Samtliga lärare uttalar sig positivt om skrivandet och anser att detta gynnar elevernas språkutveckling.

In the informational age of today, continuous learning is of greatest importance. The demand for this seems to be increasing, while at the same time people are under more pressure to carry out more tasks in shorter amounts of time. A way to solve the problem of finding time to learn could be to make use of the possibilities that Internet offers for learning at a distance. The purpose of this thesis is to, from a pedagogical perspective, contribute to the discussion concerning Internet based distance education for a target population consisting of professionals. We have found that some of the courses included in the two certification programs which we have investigated are suitable for Internet based distance education.

Denna rapport behandlar utvecklingen av den spelmotor samt spellogik som används i speletSteam Tale utvecklat under projektnamnet Project Steam Age av gruppen StormBound. Speletutvecklades i första hand för mobila enheter, och i rapporten ingår även en kort undersökningav mobila spel i ett historiskt perspektiv. Sense of coherence, SOC, is a way to study health and wellbeing in a salutogen perspective. SOC is a theory that Aaron Antonovsky came up with and it involves three elements; comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness. These three elements is a objective way to look at our existence. The aim of this study was to examine how high the pupils sense of coherence was in the grades 1, 3 and 6 in a school in Karlstad. And with the result as starting point have a discussion around the pedagogical consequences and which educational work procedures we can use to work with SOC in school.

This thesis, drawing from several empirical investigations, reaches the conclusion that there seems to be a positive correlation between the level of democracy and the level of state capacity in Latin American countries. This correlation is explained by a hypothesis derived from Rational Choice theory. With some important caveats, this conclusion is then applied to the discussion about democracy as a form of government. The aim of this study is to examine if Kenneth, a character in the novel Nyår by Stig Larsson, takes his ethical responsibility for one of the characters that appears in one section of the book, Ann. Nyår has often been related to morality. This study shows that Levinas philosophy of ethics is a supplement to the discussion of morality. According to Levinas, a person that acts in a non-moral way still can act in a righteous ethical way. With this starting point, it is possible to be close to the text and to bring out new perspectives on the novel.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the characteristics of film cataloguing, and to compare general as in library use and specific as in archival use cataloguing rules. Most rules, both in archives and libraries, use the book as a point of reference. This is somewhat unfortunate on account of the great difference between books and films. The method used is studies of literature and qualitative interviews with three persons whose professional duties include cataloguing of films. The sets of rules which are studied are Katalogiseringsregler för svenska bibliotek KRS and The FIAF Cataloguing Rules for Film Archives.

The paper aims to find out how staff and users at two public libraries and one Internetcafeuse Internet. The purpose has been to find out what they find and how they use the informa­tion they retrieve. The studies are based on eight longer interviews with the staff and 33 shorter with the users, who also were observed for a week. The paper includes a background chap­ter about Internet, search tools and the studied places. Denna uppsats handlar om gymnasieelevers anpassning till olika texttyper i skrift. Uppsatsens frågeställningar är: 1.) Vilka berättande drag återfinns i gymnasieelevers argumenterande texter? 2.) Har gymnasieelevers medvetenhet om den argumenterande texttypen något samband med det betyg som de får på uppgiften?Hypotesen som framläggs är att det förekommer fler berättande drag i texter med lägre betyg, eftersom målen för högre betyg kräver en medvetenhet om olika texttyper.Undersökningen är utförd på debattinlägg skrivna av 20 gymnasieelever, uppgift B1 i det nationella kursprovet i Svenska B vårterminen 2012 Dit vinden blåser (Skolverket 2012b). Utifrån förekomsten eller avsaknaden av fyra berättande drag, utvalda av uppsatsens författare, klassificeras elevtexterna enligt hur väl de uppfyller den argumenterande texttypen. Kriterierna gäller pronomenval, inledning, personliga exempel och ordval.Resultatet av undersökningen visar på att förekomsten av berättande drag återfinns i elevtexter på samtliga betygsnivåer.
