The aim of this literature study has been to investigate the general nurse's knowledge of diabetes type 1 and its complications. The questions were: What does the general nurse need to know about diabetes type 1? What does the general nurse know about diabetes type 1? To answer these questions, a literature study has been done of 8 scientific articles. The theoretical reference study on which the study has been based is Gustafsson's SAUK Model for affirmative nursing care. The result shows that the nurse lacks knowledge in the nursing care of diabetes patients and this reflects the fact that little research has been done on diabetes mellitus type 1 in recent years.

The role of cultural policy within the general political planning of a community can vary both historically and regionally. The aim of this study has been to explore the cultural policy plans, during the 1990's, in the recently formed geographical region of "Västra Götaland". This is a qualitative study, carried out during 1999, and based upon structured interviews with five representatives of the cultural-policy sector in the "Västra Götaland" region. In order to identify connections and tendencies in a more general social context the aims of the five representatives regarding cultural policy have been explored from the perspective of three cultural policy paradigms, namely Dorte Skot-Hansen, Olav R. Spilling and Göran Nylöf.

Sammanfattning Syftet var att studera om personers attributioner skiljer sig åt mellan positiva och negativa prestationer. Dessutom undersöktes kön- och åldersaspekter, samt skillnader mellan icke-idrottare, motionärer, individuella och lagidrottare gällande attributionsstil och situationsspecifikt självförtroende. Vidare syftade arbetet till att studera samband mellan attributionsdimensionerna och situationsspecifikt självförtroende. Urvalet bestod av 115 försökspersoner i åldern 16 till 67 år. För att mäta attributioner användes Causal Dimension Scale ? II (CDS-II; McAuley, Duncan, & Russell, 1992) och för att mäta situationspsecifikt självförtroende användes General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE; Schwarzer & Jerusalem, 1995, ref.

The aim of this study was to examine which research had been done on dietary supplements for dogs suffering from osteoarthrosis. The main questions the author wanted answers to were ?Is there evidence in the research that dietary supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis have effect in such a way that quality of life is increased in these animals??, ?are there any contraindications regarding dietary supplements?, ?who is responsible for the control of safety on dietary supplements for dogs in Sweden? and ?what kind of advice would I give to dogowners about dietary supplements?. To be able to answer these questions the author conducted a literature study of the recent research on dietary supplements for OA in dogs. The results showed that despite the lack of research in this field, some promising research has been done on multiple different supplements.

Introduction:During a crisis in the society, the communication from the responsible authorities is of big importance. This study shows how the authorities worked with their crisis communication towards the general public during the waterleak in Kalmar in december, 2010.Purpose:The purpose of this study is to investigate how the responsible authorities in Kalmar worked with their crisis communication during the waterleak and also how the general public perceived the crisis communication.Methodology:The study is based on a combination of a qualitative and a quantitative methodology. We begin to work with qualitative interviews with the responsible authorities to get information about the actual event and their work with the crisis communication towards the general public through the mass media. Then we investigate how the general public in Kalmar perceived the crisis communication from the responsible authorities and compare these two results.Conclusion:The study shows that there were several problems, both internally and externally, with the crisis communication from the responsible authorities during the waterleak. Although some people were dissatisified with the responsible authorities crisis communication, the majority were pleased and very satisfied with the information they got from the responsible authorities during the waterleak..

The retrospective part of this study evaluates the susceptibility patterns of bacteria isolated from blood in critically ill foals in Sweden. The most commonly obtained bacteria were Actinobacillus spp. (38 %) and Escherichia coli (27 %). Trimethoprim-sulphonamide (TMS) had good efficacy against most gram negative bacteria with the exception of Klebsiella spp. Among 17 Escherichia coli isolates 94 % were susceptible to trimethoprim-sulphonamide whereas all 24 isolates of Actinobacillus spp.

This report is about planning a demolition. The purpose of this report is that it should become a base for a demolition of house J at the Academic hospital in Uppsala, and also to make general help for planning a demolition. This report also contains a part about how a change in the work environment affects general people. The work started with studies of literature and design of the general part of the report and then continued with a practical study of house J. From the experience of the first two parts of the report a general help for planning a demolition was shaped.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur stor effekt kombinationsbehandling med naproxen och sumatriptan har vid migrän hos vuxna människor jämfört med monoterapi med naproxen eller sumatriptan samt placebo. Studien utformades som en litteraturstudie och sökningar skedde i PubMed via Linnéuniversitetets bibliotek med sökorden ?migraine AND triptan* AND NSAID AND efficacy?, ?migraine AND sumatriptan AND naproxen AND combination AND efficacy? samt ?naproxen AND sumatriptan?. Sökningarna ledde till granskning av 6 studier.     Sammanfattningsvis hade kombinationsbehandlingen statistiskt signifikanta fördelar gällande flera effektmått vid behandling av migrän, bland annat smärtfrihet 2 timmar efter behandling och ihållande smärtfrihet upp till 24 timmar efter behandling, jämfört med såväl monoterapierna som placebo, medan biverkningsrisken inte ökade statistiskt signifikant med kombinationsterapin.

The general contract law principle of loyalty between negotiators, in deliberation, leads to a duty of disclosure for negotiators. The extent of this duty of disclosure is influenced by many different factors; amongst others the type of agreement, the negotiators knowledge and opportunity of procuring knowledge. The general duty of disclosure is both a part of the contract law principle of loyalty between negotiators in negotiating a contract, and an indirectly statutory obligation, that, if neglected will lead to nullification of the agreement.
