Background:In Sweden and Northern Europe, cardiovascular disease mortality rates are high. The clinical picture in the Western world is dominated by lifestyle diseases in which individual behavior and attitudes have a significant impact on the health effect. In the society cardiovascular disease is seen as an illness factor and contribution to disability. Conditions for a good life are not only good health also factors such as intimate relationships and meaningful work which affect the person's quality of life.Aim:Lifestyle changes and quality of life for patients, regarding cardiovascular disease.Method:A literature review was made. Eight articles, quantitative and qualitative were analyzed.

This report discusses the development of lessons based on laborations for middle and high school.The purpose of the project was to research the possibility to affect students' attitude towards physicsthrough well-planned stimulating lessons. The lessons were based on the Light and Lasers OutreachKit, a teaching package made by the organisation Laser Classroom, and have been adapted for physicsin middle and high school. The lessons were developed on a pedagogical and didactical ground andwere improved with surveys and peer and self assessment. The lessons were based on laser light and itsproperties. One lesson covered the topic of single-slit diffraction, while the other treated geometricaloptics.

Background: Diabetes is a common disease where the degree of self-management is of paramount importance. Individual factors influences both cooping and general wellbeing among diabetic patients. Glycemic control is known to be important but other factors ought to be considered. Aim: The aim of this study was to describe how individual self-management influences the general wellbeing among adult diabetic patients. Method: This literature study is based on scientific articles.

Title: The nurse's dilemma in psychiatric inpatient care - a balancing act between good and evil Objective: To describe the nurse's experience of relieving patient suffering caused by coercive measures on a closed psychiatric ward . Frame of reference : The results are discussed in light of Eriksson´s theory of suffering and caring relationships Method: A qualitative analysis based on focus group discussions Results: The analysis resulted in six categories, to protect the patient , to involve the patient , not to lose control , to remain , to justify compulsion , and to be touched . The results showed that nurses had the experience of being able to relieve the suffering of patients caused by coercive measures. It was also found that the nurses had a tendency to justify coercive measures , the more experience they had of performing these . Conclusion: The results describe that nurses have the experience and knowledge of how to relieve patients' suffering caused by coercion but also their experiences of performing these .

The purpose of this study is to examine discourses about norms and norm criticism regarding sex/gender and sexuality in preschool teachers? and nursery nurses? speech using a post-structuralist perspective. My two research questions are:How do the educators describe norms in general and norms about sex/gender and sexuality in relation to their work?How do the educators describe their work with norm criticism in relation to norms about sex/gender and sexuality?The theoretical base of this thesis is feminist post-structuralism and queer theory. Qualitative interviews were used as method to gather material and then a form of discourse analysis was made based on the transcribed interviews.

Bakgrund: Ledarskapet för omvårdnaden är ett av sjuksköterskans kompetensområden och därmed en del av det dagliga arbetet. Därför är ledarskapet en viktig del av den nyutexaminerade sjuksköterskans kompetens för att säkerställa bästa möjliga omvårdnad för patienten. Detta kan upplevas som kravfyllt men också spännande.Syfte: Syftet med följande studie är att beskriva hur nyutexaminerade sjuksköterskor ser på sin arbetsledarroll inom den psykiatriska omvårdnaden.Metod: Kvalitativ ansats. Fem stycken intervjuer genomfördes med sjuksköterskor från tre olika avdelningar inom en psykiatrisk klinik. Intervjuerna gjordes med stöd av en intervjuguide med öppna frågor.Resultat: I materialet framkom fyra teman.

SammanfattningBakgrund:  Det är vanligt förekommande att personer med psykisk ohälsa vårdas på somatiska avdelningar. I studier har det framkommit att de inte blir behandlade med respekt, att de känner sig ignorerade och att de får vänta längre än andra patienter på att få vård. Omvårdnadspersonal tror också ofta att de somatiska symtomen hos patienter med psykisk ohälsa bara är fantasier, eller att dessa symtom beror på den psykiska ohälsan. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa vilka faktorer som påverkar hur omvårdnadspersonalen bemöter personer med psykisk ohälsa som vårdas inom somatisk vård.Metod: Metoden bestod av en litteraturstudie baserad på åtta artiklar vilka analyserades med textanalys.Resultat: Resultatet visar att det negativa bemötandet av patienter som vårdas inom somatisk vård kan beskrivas utifrån fyra olika teman; omvårdnadspersonalens självuppfattning, patientuppfattning, känslor hos omvårdnadspersonalen samt uppfattning av vårdmiljön                     Diskussion: Huvudfynden som diskuterades med utgångpunkt i begreppet värdighet var negativa attityder, utbildning och kommunikation. Omvårdnadspersonal har ofta negativa attityder gentemot patienter med psykisk ohälsa, och kommunikationen mellan omvårdnadspersonal och patienter är ofta bristfällig. Omvårdnadspersonal som arbetar inom somatisk vård behöver mer utbildning och träning för att kunna ge personer med psykisk ohälsa ett gott bemötande.

This report is the result of a questionnaire survey done in cooperation with the company Sydved and their contractors. The investigation concerned all their ordinary contractors. The main goal with the study was to find out the contractors opinion about the current cooperation conditions with Sydved, their opinion about the future and how to improve the cooperation. All contractors got a questionnaire to fill in and return within a given date. The percentage of answers was 48 % at the first stage and further 11 % answered after reminder. The result of the investigation indicated that the contractors in general have a positive attitude to Sydved and the way that the company acts.

The aim of this master thesis is to study the relationship between general ethics and professional ethics, to attain an understanding of which values that are given priority in the profession of the librarian regarding personal encounter towards library users. The posed questions are: How can fundamental ethical principles be understood through the view of public librarians? How can policy documents regarding librarian ethics be understood through the view of public librarians? How can policy documents regarding librarian ethics be problematized in relation to fundamental ethical principles? We used four focus groups consisting of public librarians. Three theoretical frameworks create the base of the analysis; four fundamental ethical principles, ethical guidelines for Swedish librarians and recommendations for Swedish librarians in the reference service. Three main issues emerge in the study; equalistic personal encounter where the principle of justice is emphasized but also problematized, library users? integrity which mainly coincide with the principle of autonomy and finally the librarian?s professional role which are being defined by librarian specific competence to refrain violation of the principle of injury avoidance.

SAMMANFATTNINGBakgrund:Närstående till patienter på intensivvårds avdelningar är ofta drabbade av kris och sorg. Patienten befinner sig i ett livshotande tillstånd och miljön är mycket främmande för de närstående. En väl fungerande kommunikation sjuksköterska och närstående emellan är viktig för att hjälpa de närstående bemästra den svåra situation de befinner sig i. Omvårdnadsforskning visar vikten av att de närstående finns nära patienten, men i en livshotande situation kan de närstående bli anmodade att lämna rummet.Metod:För att belysa närståendes och sjuksköterskors uppfattningar och erfarenheter gällande närståendes närvaro vid HLR på en intensivvårdsavdelning utfördes en forskningsöversikt. Sökning gjordes i databaserna Cinahl och Pubmed, med hjälp av sökorden cardiopulmonary resuscitation, resuscitation, witnessed resuscitation, nurse, nurse perspective, experience, attitude, perception, family, family presence, relative perception, och intensive care.

The perioperative nurse's primary responsibility is to care for the patient during the operation?s three phases; before, during and after. Nowadays, information is sent less frequently throughtraditional correspondence in favor of faster electronic equivalents via the internet.Despite effective IT environmentand secure encryption techniques choose some actors to sendinformation through physical delivery. This phenomenon occurs in those working withconfidential information as it is handled by a number of rules and safety regulations.Based on a set of rules and requirements, we have looked over the possibility of sending sensitiveinformation electronically over the internet. The aim was to find general guidelines for howcompanies and organizations should manage and send sensitive information over insecurenetworks. This led us to our research question: How can information be exchanged betweenactors in geographically diverse areas be categorized and encrypted so that it can be transportedover the internet without security or integrity deficiencies?To answer the question, there was a case study at a defense company.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to study what place public libraries have in local politics, particularly from the point of view of the politicians. To answer this, I have interviewed politicians, participated as a silent observer of a public debate, and studied articles on library politics in newspapers and other press. The results show that politicians in general have a positive view of libraries and good co-operation with library professionals, and that they have a fairly up-to-date view of libraries. They are, however, less interested in library issues in general, and are often complacent with the way things are already running. The newspaper studies show that library issues are usually only discussed when a specific library is somehow in danger.
