The most common form of female cancer in Sweden is breast cancer and the primary choice of treatment is surgery. Removing a woman's breasts is not just removing a body part but is also strongly linked to the emotional life. This has psychosocial consequences and the reactions will be different depending on how people perceive health and illness. Factors that matter are both personal experiences and cultural factors such as religion, family, and the own standards and values. It is important that a nurse is aware of cultural factors that may influence the perception of care.

The general contract law principle of loyalty between negotiators, in deliberation, leads to a duty of disclosure for negotiators. The extent of this duty of disclosure is influenced by many different factors; amongst others the type of agreement, the negotiators knowledge and opportunity of procuring knowledge. The general duty of disclosure is both a part of the contract law principle of loyalty between negotiators in negotiating a contract, and an indirectly statutory obligation, that, if neglected will lead to nullification of the agreement. Death can be seen as a sensitive subject and can by that be difficult for many people to talk about. Working as a nurse can imply caring for severe ill and dying patients, which can be regarded as a task that makes great demands. The aim of the present literature review is to illustrate nurses' experiences of problems in association with the care of dying patients to be aware of these. Nine scientific articles were analysed and the result showed that the problems the nurses experienced could be related to four different categories: problems related to organisa-tion/resources, to the nurse herself, to the patient and to family members. The breast is a symbol of femininity and sexuality for many women. The purpose of this literature-based study is to describe women's experiences of altered body image and sexuality after mastectomy. This may provide a better understanding of the nurse in responding to these breast cancer patients.

Självmord, eller suicid som det också kallas, är i vårt samhälle ett tabubelagt ämne där en känsla av utanförskap har belysts hos den suicidnära patienten som ibland upplever sin vård som otillräcklig. Syftet med följande studie är därför att belysa sjuksköterskans upplevelse av att vårda den suicidnära patienten och för att genomföra detta har en litteraturstudie genomförts på fyra kvalitativa- samt fem kvantitativa artiklar där resultatet visar att sjuksköterskans syn på patienten, på sig själv samt på sin kompetens i stor utsträckning påverkar patientens upplevelse av vårdandet. Vidare beskrivet är att sjuksköterskan tycks vara benägen att sätta etiketter på patienten där vissa grupper upplevs som svårare att vårda. Sjuksköterskan uppfattar vårdandet som tungt, då den vård som förmedlas inte upplevs ge önskad effekt. Eftersom relationen mellan sjuksköterskan och patienten är av stor vikt för att främja en framtida patienthälsa anses det att en bredare utbildning bör erhållas den grundutbildade sjuksköterskan för att underlätta förmågan att sätta sin förförståelse åt sidan och därmed öka förutsättningen för den psykiskt sjuka patienten.

Med utgångspunkt i projekten behandlas en utvecklingsprocess för IT-system som är baserad på kreativitet och lärande miljöer. Syftet är att undersöka vilka sätt allmänsjuksköterskan kan interagera med demenssjuka på. Frågeställning: Hur kan verbala och icke-verbala kommunikationssätt optimera omvårdnaden och interaktionen mellan sjuksköterskan och personen med demenssjukdom? Ämnet har belysts genom att göra en litteraturstudie och datainsamling har gjorts på tre databaser. Denna studie är uppbyggd på sex kvalitativa studier och fyra kvantitativa. Demenssjukdom innebär nedsatt verbal kommunikationsförmåga, vilket kan leda till frustration och agiterat beteende.

Objective: The aim of this study was to study the prevalence of depression among patients with arrhythmia, and to investigate if there was any gender difference in the study population regarding depression. Furthermore, differences considering depressive symptoms between patients with arrhythmia and the general population were to be investigated. Method: The self-rating scale MADRS-S was distributed during two weeks to 24 patients with arrhythmia. Twenty-one patients completed the study. Results: 28.5 % of the participants showed symptoms of some level of depression.

Anorexia nervosa is a severe and multifaceted eating disorder generally found in the female population. Throughout anorectic starvation relationship related conflicts revolving round power and autonomy are bound to happen. For that reason the most crucial part of treatment should be to build a trusting relationship.The aim of this study was to describe relationship promoting strategies a nurse can use during care of anorexia nervosa patients. This literature study derives from a qualitative analysis of scientific articles. The findings indicate on five different strategies a nurse can use during care of anorexia nervosa patients.

Background: Prediabetes is caused by relative insulin deficiency and insulin resistance in the body tissue which leads to abnormal blood glucose levels. Prediabetes can over time lead to type 2 diabetes mellitus. To prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes and its complications, it is important to identify early elevated blood glucose levels and thereby prediabetes.Objective: To describe nurses' knowledge and experience regarding the management of patients with prediabetes.Methods: Qualitative descriptive design with individual interviews. Three nurses, three community health nurses and three diabetes nurses were interviewed.Results: The result can be understood from the nurses' experiences of encountering patients with prediabetes. An overarching theme in the analysis was that the nurses are working or aspiring to work preventively.
