I denna studie undersöktes hur 291 individer som genomgått en Gastric Bypass för mer än två år sedan skattade sin psykosociala hälsa. Syftet med studien var att undersöka samband mellan den psykosociala hälsan och hur länge respondenterna hade varit opererade, eventuell viktuppgång samt hur länge i livet respondenterna haft obesitas. Mätinstrumenten som användes var Satisfaction With Life Scale (livstillfredsställelse), Social Physique Anxiety Scale (social kroppsångest) samt Rosenberg Self- Esteem Scale (självkänsla). Resultaten visade att ju längre tid det var sedan patienterna opererades samt ju mer patienterna ökade i vikt, desto lägre skattades den psykosociala hälsan. Vidare skattade de patienter som varit obesa hela livet, högre social kroppsångest jämfört med patienter som rapporterade att de haft perioder i livet som normalviktiga..

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) föregås av en väntetid som kan vara påfrestande för patienten i och med att en hjärtkärlsjukdom är ett livshotande tillstånd. Effektivi-sering inom sjukvården har lett till förhållandevis korta vårdtider efter detta ingrepp. Med tanke på den relativt långa rehabiliteringsfas som följer läggs mycket av ansvaret för återhämtningen på patient och dennes närstående i hemmet. Syftet med studien var att belysa det sociala stödet och dess betydelse för patienten i samband med en CABG-operation. Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie.

Introduktion: Depression, ångest, stress och ätstörningsproblematik har visat sig ha en hög prevalens hos personer som lider av obesitas. Syfte: Att undersöka om och i så fall hur ångest och depression mätt i HADS förändras i en grupp som genomgått överviktskirurgi. Av intresse var också att undersöka om viktnedgång samt om preoperativa symtom på stress, hetsätning och känslomässigt ätande predicerar utfallet av symtom på ångest och depression postoperativt. Metod: 30 patienter som genomgått överviktskirurgi på Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala under våren 2011 inkluderades i studien. Dessa patienter hade innan genomgången operation och vid en uppföljning sex månader postoperativt besvarat olika screeningformulär avseende psykiskt välmående, ätstörningar och stress.

The aim of this literature study was to give a clear picture of what gastric dilatation-volvulus is, and how the acute- and postoperative treatment and care is managed. The general aim is to support and help the veterinary technicians in their clinical work. Gastric dilatation volvulus is always an emergency. The primarily goal when these dogs are hospitalized is to establish an adequate cardiovascular function. This is done by immediate intravenous fluid therapy followed by decompression of the dilated stomach.

I de senaste årens debatter om jämställdhet och jämlikhet mellan man och kvinna framstår dessa ofta som binära poler eller motsatser. Ur det växer bilder av hur kvinnor och män ?bör? vara, dessa stereotypa roller riskerar i sig att vara destruktiva när de avhumaniserar individen. Särskilt problematiskt blir de ?manliga? stereotyper som står i motsats till ?kvinnliga? och därmed kvaliteter som t ex omtanke vilka traditionellt setts som feminina.

BAKGRUND: CABG blir en allt vanligare åtgärd vid kranskärlssjukdom inom svensk sjukvård. Målet med operationen är att lindra symtom vid kärlkramp och hjärtinfarkt samt att reducera mortaliteten. SYFTE: Syftet var att beskriva patienters emotionella upplevelser under det första året efter en CABG operation. METOD: En allmän litteraturstudie som grundades på kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar genomfördes. Resultatet baserades på sju vetenskapliga artiklar som söktes fram via elektroniska databaser och därefter granskades och analyserades.

The research regarding the six day war and the aerial operations named Operation Moked is extensive but there are certain shortcomings in the research that examines both the operation and the principle of surprise.The aim of this paper is to contribute to this research by utilising existing military theories on the principle of surprise in order to identify indicators that are representative of surprise.  These indicators are thereafter used in a study of Operation Moked in order to examine the extent of in which the principle was utilised.The result of this research goes to show that the principle of surprise was utilised in great extent by Israel during Operation Moked..

To date, the genus Helicobacter consist of 26 different species and even more species are yet to be characterized. Helicobacter has been detected in connection with diseases in the liver and pancreas in humans and animals. Helicobacter spp. are gram negative, curved, S-shaped or spiral shaped bacteria. They are microaerophilic and have flagella that make them motile. Helicobacter, present in the gastric mucosa neutralize the gastric acid through production of urease that hydrolyses urea to ammonia and bicarbonate.

Depressionssymtom är en vanlig postoperativ följd av en coronar arteriell bypass-kirurgi. Varje patient upplever den postoperativa tiden olika och många olika faktorer påverkar depressionssymtomen. Detta är något som sjuksköterskor måste beakta i sitt dagliga arbete. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att undersöka olika faktorers påverkan på patientens upplevelse av depressionssymtom postoperativt efter en coronar arteriell bypass kirurgi. Artiklarna valdes utifrån sökningar i Pubmed och i Cinahl.

Bakgrund: Den palliativa vårdens främsta syfte är att främja patienters välbefinnande och den ska utmärkas av integritet och värdighet. Tack vare den allt mer avancerade hemsjukvården finns möjligheten för fler palliativa patienter att vårdas i hemmet. Detta ställer krav på sjuksköterskors och närståendes kompetens. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva närståendes upplevelser samt behov av stöd i palliativ hemsjukvård. Metod: En litteraturstudie utfördes där tretton kvalitativa studier granskades och analyserades enligt Friberg (2006).

How do you do co-operation between government agencies? It is a wide spread view that there can be quite a few hitches in co-operation between agencies. In later years this idea has spread to the media where there has been negative coverage of the social service agencies. This generally applies to cases where children suffer because the right assistance takes too long to co-ordinate or does not get co-ordinated at all between schools, healthcare and social services. The social welfare law dictates that it is the social welfare office duty to co-ordinate the government agencies for the child?s best interest.

Tidigare studier har visat att sjuksköterskor inte diskuterar sexualitet med sina patienter, trots att behovet finns. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva attityder hos sjuksköterskor på hjärtintensivavdelningar gällande samtal om sexualitet med hjärtpatienter och undersöka skillnader mellan ett universitetssjukhus och ett länsdelssjukhus samt undersöka samband i attityder för respektive avdelning. Data samlades in med den svenska versionen av instrumentet Sexuality Attitudes and Belifes Survey (SABS). Sextiofem enkäter delades ut, varav 34 besvarades. Huvudresultatet visade att sjuksköterskorna från båda sjukhusen var positivt inställda till samtal om sexualitet med patienterna.

In this paper I attempt to analyze the ways the European Union defines its external borders in cross-border co-operation with its neighbours. The analysis is based on case study examining the founding components of a updated version of the Northern Dimension policy of the European Union.The analytical framework of the study is composed of three different perceptions on the cross-border co-operation; regionalisation, integration and flexible integration. I conclude that the model of cross-border co-operation laid by the Northern Dimension policy would have an impact on the EU's external border with Russia, making it more flexible and vague.As far as the geographical terms of the co-operation are concerned, they seem to shift from regional co-operation to greater emphasis the role of networks as basis for co-operation instead of traditional regions..

The purpose of the study was to review the current veterinary literature regarding gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV) considering pathophysiology and treatment, and to evaluate the operative technique (incisional gastropexy) used during the years 2005 and 2006 at the University Animal Hospital (Universitetsdjursjukhuset), SLU, Uppsala, Sweden. GDV has a complicated pathophysiology which foremost effects the circulatory system. Progress is often acute and it is not unusual that patients are affected with shock. The initial treatment targets to alleviate the shock by fluid therapy and decompression of the stomach. There is a high risk of recurrence in the long term perspective unless the stomach is surgically fixated by gastropexy. The study describes two different techniques for gastropexy; incisional gastropexy, and funduspexy. Long term complications were rare among the patients that were treated surgically, while about half out of the eighteen dogs that undergo surgery do experience complications of various severity in the short term..

This thesis has examined a co-operation called SSP, between the social authorities, the school and the police, located in Malmö. The intention with SSP is to prevent crime and drug use among juveniles but also to evolve a structure for a long-term co-operation between the authorities.The purpose of the thesis was to understand and analyse what the co- operation represented and stood for. The study also examined how the co- operation was effected by differences in the organisation of the three parts.The main questions were the following; what does SSP contain, is SSP preventive and for whom, what motivates the co-operation and how is the cooperation effected by the view the authorities have on the target group?The method used for answering the questions was based on qualitative interviews with the three authorities involved. We have also searched for literature on the subjects involved.The main content of the thesis has showed that the limits of SSP are diffuse, and the focus of the co- operation lies at a structural level.
