Stureholm Manor and garden is a relatively young farming unit on clay soil in the north western part of Skåne, a province in Southern Sweden. Since the middle of the 19th century the landscape has been actively cultivated and has been transformed from oak forrest into farmingland of high efficiency. The industrial era during the 19th and 20th centuries meant new posssibilites for cultivation of these clay soils. With equipment like steam ploughs and the possibility to obtain fertilizers, the harvest increased considerably. This increased prosperity provided estate Stureholm with a beatuiful corps de logi, a manor. The trends prevailing in Europe around the turn of the century 1800-1900 against the growing industrialism, was turned into a artisan movement known as Arts and Craft. The Swedish followers idealized our Swedish history and they took the turn of a national romantic movement that later turned into neoclassicism.

This study was made to compare construction companies for Gardens way to work with up following, with purpose to see if there was an efficient and not resource demanded system which gave much value. To achieve the purpose a case study was made. The delimitation for the case study was only to compare the work with up following on individual project. The delimitation on the companies in the study was from ten to sixty employees. That because to reach companies were it´s not the same person how calculates on tenders and than perform the projects. The study was delimitated to the west side of Skåne. T o be able to compare the companies and to find trends, an interviewguide was made and was used during the interviews with the companies.

2. SUMMARY A small garden exposed to a harsh coastal climate can be difficult to design. Limitations in space and in plant varieties increase the needs of an in-depth knowledge to achieve wanted goals. In this degree project the challenge has been to create a functional and position adapted garden for a very small beach house lot in Mölle, a little harbour village at the south coast of Kullaberg. ?Villa Malm?, is situated directly on the bedrock in a close settlement where the Gardens, in most cases are very small and exposed to strong salty winds.

The City is filled with signs of life. It teems with human traces waiting to be discovered. Street art of different kinds prevails behind traffic signs, on posts and electrical boxes. Personally con-structed dogs guard roundabouts all around Sweden and small Gardens spire underneath window ledges. In this work I want to identify these phenomena and find out what thoughts inspired these creations.

Biological pest management is defined as control of pests using their natural enemies. This method has been used in Sweden since the 1970´s and it has been developed ever since. Biological pest management is today relatively common among commercial growers but there are good possibilities to apply this method in the home Gardens as well. The aim with this thesis is to compile a report from both the companies that are marketing the products and the home gardener´s point of view. This should give a better understanding of the market and how it could be improved. We will give examples of products that represent the different kinds of organisms that are being used in biological pest management. Our hope is that this will be an introduction to all interested in biological pest management. The legislations regarding registration of organisms are still a matter of discussion and are causing problems to producers, distributors and the market in general. Why isn´t biological pest management more common in the home garden? The main reason appears to be the lack of knowledge in the subject. What are the benefits using biological pest management when it requires so much knowledge and it´s more expensive than conventional pest management? With the environmental problems we face today, we hope that every single gardener has an interest in developing an environment as clean as possible, even if only in one's own backyard..

Lyckebo farm is the original name of the four building big farm, where year 2000, the former farmer established Maglarp/ Lyckebo golfcourse on his land of culture. In 2007, new owners are approaching the Maglarps golfcourse with thoughts of expanding the business. A first step in that direction is to form the area of the entrance, the specific area the visitors are staying at before entering the actual golfcourse to play. The designproposal is inspired by the peasant garden history of southern Sweden during the nineteenth centuary. It also aims to satisfy the demands of function and usefullness of a golfcourse today.

Previously when I have made proposals for privately owned Gardens, I have found it difficult to find strong, extensive designs and to work with room and space. Since this is the field within which I am going to work in the future I feel that I need more experience, reference material and ideas on how I, in an early stage of the working process, can work with and consider room and space. The aim of this project has therefore been to procure experience, reference material and ideas for design of a garden in relation to space. To procure experience and reference material I have, during the fall of 2008, made two incredible study tours to France and to Japan. I have interviewed the landscaping architect Maria Arborgh and studied literature. I have also used a garden outside of Gothenburg in which I have been able to try out different thoughts and ideas regarding shape that have appeared during the course of my work. My conclusions about landscaping are that you should first find the different functions in the garden. The next step is to find an overall theme or shape, use a small number of materials, build a room with sealing, walls and portals with the help of vertical elements e.g.

Bakgrund: Mycket av företagens potentiella vinster uteblir på grund av dålig koppling mellan strategi och prestation samt på grund av dåliga system för prestationsmätningar. Ett företag av Nelson Gardens storlek skulle kunna tjäna avsevärt mycket mer om strategiernas implementering mäts på ett lämpligt sätt.Syfte: Att designa ett lämpligt prestationsmätningssystem för fallföretaget och däri integrera deras nuvarande system för ständiga förbättringar.Avgränsningar: Studien är avgränsad från att beskriva fallföretagets nuvarande strategier och nyckeltal i detalj samt från implementeringen av färdigt prestationsmätningssystem.Metod: Studien har genomförts som en fallstudie där lämplig teori har legat till grund för empiriinsamling som i sin tur har möjliggjort en analys.Slutsats: Utifrån företagets vision har strategiska målsättningar, framgångsfaktorer och nyckeltal presenterats. Tillsammans utgör dessa ett komplett Balanced Scorecard där särskilt fokus på kausala samband finns. Därutöver har en passande plats för företagets system för ständiga förbättringar identifierats i det designade prestationsmätningssystemet..

I have observed that hedges are not as prevalent in Gardens in the north of Sweden as in the south despite a number of beneficial qualities attached to their use. Consequently, the primary purpose of this essay is to examine the potential for the use of ligneous or woody plants as hedges in a cold climate. The aim of this study is to provide information about the various varieties of ligneous plants that can be used for both pruned and unclipped hedges in the north of Sweden. Because the hardiness of the ligneous plants is a vital factor here, only plants that are hardy enough to survive in the Swedish hardiness zones V to VIII are included in this study. Roses, dwarf shrubs, conifers, bushes with a final height of less than 1 metre and plants that ?bleed? have been excluded.

Färg anses livsviktig för den mänskliga organismen och en vital del av den helande trädgården. En hälsoträdgård ska tillgodose brukaren samtliga terapeutiska inslag oavsett funktionshinder. Trotts detta saknas det funktionella färginslag för den blinda brukare som söker rekreation i en helande trädgårdsmiljö. Kromoterapi är en form av färgterapi som använts sen 2000 f. kr.

Mål: Att undersöka effekten och behovet av en helande trädgård/ odlingterapi för barn med cancer och deras välbefinnande. Bakgrund: Barn som behandlas för cancer utsätts både för psykisk och fysisk påfrestning. Deras behandling är många gånger tuff och det förändrar hela deras tillvaro. Behandlingen fokuseras på det medicinska/fysiska hälsan, barnens psykiska välmående kan ibland bli åsidosatt. Risken att drabbas av posttraumatisk stress ökar för de som drabbats av cancer.

Syftet med litteratur studien var att beskriva vilka studier som har gjorts med fokus på ?grön omsorg? /utemiljö i vården av personer med demens, samt att beskriva personalens upplevelse av dessa omvårdnadsåtgärder och eventuella effekter på de boende. Litteratursökningar gjordes i databaserna Medline och Chinal, och resulterade i nio inkluderade studier. Resultatet visade att flertalet av studierna hade som syfte att studera utemiljö och boendes välbefinnande och beteende. Sex studier hade en icke-experimentell design, två studier hade en kvasiexperimentell design och en studie var uppdelad i två delar varav den ena delen hade en icke-experimentell design och den andra delen hade en kvasiexperimentell design.

This thesis puts together general guidelines for the design of outdoor environment at nursing homes for people with dementia. The goal is to give the residents a greater quality of life with the garden.The garden must be safe and secure while offering places for fellowship or retirement and experiences of joy and competence. The plant material and other elements in the garden are inserted to stimulate the senses and to inspire to different activities. The paper describes the health promoting effects of nature and Gardens by referring to scientific studies. These studies encompass the impact of nature on all human beings as well as how the outdoor environment affects our target group, elderly people with dementia. An essential part of the work focus on the conditions in a garden for people with dementia, on the contact between residence and garden and the access to surrounding life. Eventually, the general guidelines are applied to a real building project ? the Vega project in Lomma,a new nursing home for persons with dementia.

Gunnebo House and Gardens was designed during the late 18th century by architect Carl Wilhelm Carlberg as a summer residence for the wealthy merchant John Hall Sr. and his family. The garden consists of formal garden, kitchen garden and English park. For the first two parts several original drawings have been preserved and here a lot of restoration work has been carried out. This paper aims to examine how the English park might have been implemented during John Hall Sr.?s time and to create a plant scheme for the area called ?Engelska kullen? (The English hill).
