This paper is a qualitative study on the influence of the residents in a special communitydwelling within the care system for elderly. The purpose of the study is to describe and analyse with a user perspective how particularly staff members but also a group of retired people living in this dwelling interpret and articulate the concept of resident influence. How the retirees can influence the design and the content of the activities and the organization. How today the residents influence is carried out with the ideas and visions of the future.My methods include qualitative structured, semi-structured and non-structured interviews within a general frame of a resident questionnaire. The staff members present the current situation and reflect on the reasons for obstacles for resident influence.The group of retired people who lives in structures originating in the Swedish long-term care system and homes for the elderly tends to adjust to given routines and express a low-voiced wish for increased influence.

This report describes the creation of an interactive text system for storing, retrieval and publishing of texts, ITS.My task was to create a GUI together with a database capable of handling text, commenting of texts, references between texts, and the capability to associate images with texts.After enough texts have been inserted into the database, there shall be an ability to generate a report out of them.The report describes the methods used when the GUI was implemented, how the database was modelled and implemented, and how the security aspects where solved.The entire project is created with the help of Java, MySQL server, Connector/J and OpenSSL.Furthermore the functions of the GUI and the future of ITS is described..

Patientempowerment, som är ett patientfokuserat förhållningssätt, kan ge patienten de verktygoch den styrkan som behövs för att ändra på sina levnadsvanor. Syfte: Syftet med dennalitteraturstudie var att ta reda på hur sjuksköterskor kan hjälpa patienter med överviktoch fetma att förändra sina levnadsvanor.

Bakgrund: Afasi och dysfagi är tillstånd som kan ge allvarliga fysiska och psykiska konsekvenser varav depression och aspirationspneumoni är några exempel. Det är därför viktigt att vårdgivare har en tillräcklig kunskap om afasi och dysfagi och vilka svårigheter diagnoserna innebär. Dock har vårdgivare inte alltid den kunskap som krävs för att hantera svårigheterna och ge en god och individuellt anpassad vård. Det har visats att informationsinsatser har en positiv effekt på vårdgivares kunskap kring diagnoserna, och med möjlighet till handledning och praktiska övningar ses även effekt på vårdgivares inställning och arbetssätt. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att ta reda på hur kunskap om afasi och dysfagi kan öka av en kort informationsinsats specifikt till vårdgivare på äldreboenden.Metod: Denna studie var en enkätstudie med en informationsinsats i form av ett kort informationstillfälle innehållande faktainformation och workshop. Deltagarna bestod av 29 undersköterskor och vårdbiträden på åtta äldreboenden uppdelade i kontroll- och experimentgrupp.

The purpose of this study is to explore the factors affecting an individual's working life mobility and how this mobility is perceived by the individual. The study has a qualitative approach and the theoretical part is based on Castells', Giddens' and Bauman's theories of modern society and employment in relation to the individual. The study concludes that external circumstances in combination with internal driving forces are the reasons behind changing careers. The process is predominantly perceived as positive, especially education tends to strengthen self-identity. Work in general is regarded as important for a person's identity and new career changes are expected in the future..

The problem with passive farmers has arised as an effect of the European Union´s common agricultural policy (CAP) and the decouplement from production-based payments. Payments to passive farmers contradict the purpose of the single payment scheme and constitute a great cost for the EU. The new contractual period after 2013 has given rise to discussions on the direction of the CAP with a purpose of increasing the efficiency of the single payment scheme, and reducing passive farming. The aim of the study is to increase the knowledge about a few factors? influence on passive farmers? attitudes towards land use and the CAP.

The object of the thesis is to propose a new design for the neighbourhood of Veiberg that is situated in the small Norwegian town Jessheim. My approach was to first make an analysis of the whole community and the structure of the town, and then gradually focus on the actual neighbourhood to continue the research there. On the basis of my research the block will be redesigned. The research will lead to a well-planned design of the neighbourhood, which will adapt it to its surroundings in a sustainable and constructive way. The project will lead you through the history of the town and the intentions and aims of the municipality. The project also examines the structure of the town and the function of the neighbourhood in the town today as well as investigation of the history, the structure and the qualities in the area.
