A group of companies that only recently has caught the attention of Swedish designers, enterprises and media are the so -called "Furniture pirates". In Sweden it?s mainly two companies that have ended up in the spotlight. The online stores Ikon M and Designers Revolt are two companies which currently sell replicas of famous Swedish and foreign designers. Although the designs sold are copyright protected in Sweden, and most other European countries, the right holders can only stand by and watch as more or less exact copies are sold for a fraction of the price of the originals.The business model - to exploit the EU?s free movement of goods and the UK's short term of copyright protection in matter of mass-produced art (industrial design) - has proven successful for the companies that practice it.

For the Swedish artist Björn Lövin, the personal was a problem. In his first exhibition in Moderna Museet, Lövin observed through the fictitious character Mr. P (for »Personality«) the ruptures in the Swedish welfare state. The exhibition Konsument i oändligheten och Herr P:s penningar (Consumer in Infinity and Mr. P?s Money) (1971) was composed of two environments, through which a veridical working class apartment and a high street with life-sized mannequins and Furniture characteristic of its time, visualized the societal discrepancies in the welfare state as well as the art world of the early 1970s.
Homestaging : Fenomenet & avdragsrätten
Around year 2004, a new service was introduced on the Swedish housing market with the purpose of increasing the sell price, namely homestaging. Homestaging means that a home gets in order before a open house, for example by removing personal affections or the leasing of new Furniture. The phenomenon originates from the United States, where it has existed for several decades.Most components, but not all, that is included in the homestaging concept is tax-deductible and this has lead to several questions around the law and foremost within tax law. To elucidate this complexity of problems around the right to deduction for homestaging, the Swedish tax agency, Skatteverket, has formulated a letter stating the authority?s attitude towards the phenomenon.

Swedish sawmills of today suffer from unsatisfying economy with high costs and low
benefits. The economical result depends on how well the sawmill can use their raw material. Iggesund Timber AB, a sawmill in the Holmen group, produces a large amount is enduse orientated products for the woodworking industry. Therefore the aim of this student thesis was to investigate the possibility of automatic enduse orientated quality grading of Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) saw logs by using a gamma-ray log scanner.
Iggesund Timber AB has the possibility to grade logs automatically with TINA, a two way
gamma-ray log scanner. Grading and classification of Scots Pine logs in Sweden today are
mainly manual but can in some rare cases be automatic.

Jag har som student på Carl Malsten - Furniture Studies valt att ägna mitt examensarbete åt att lösa frågan: Hur utformar man ett redskap för lek som lämnar tolknings utrymme och stimulerar barnets egna fantasi?Barn har ett öppet synsätt medans vi med åren blivit formade att se saker på ett visst sätt. Jag ville slå ett slag för barns lek, fantasi och deras skapande. Det har jag att gjort med fokus på barns olika typer av lek och då i huvudsak på:Rollek. (Barnet spelar en roll, själv eller i samspel med andra barn)Konstruktionslek.
A value chain analysis for timber in four East African countries : an exploratory case study
This study is a value chain analysis for timber in East Africa. It was commissioned by Vi Agroforestry, a nongovernmental organisation registered in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania engaged in a rural development program that involves promoting tree planting and enterprise development (Vi Agroforestry, 2012). The purpose of the study was to identify and describe common value chains for timber in the countries where Vi Agroforestry operated.
Value chain is a concept and a framework describing how to structure information regarding activities included in satisfying a certain customer need, e.g. procurement, logistics, transactions, production and marketing.

Outdoor advertising is not very often discussed within city planning even though the commercial messages occupy much of public space. The advertising signs affects not only the physical environment but also social life.
In this report I would like to acknowledge and question the presence of advertising in our everyday environment.
Outdoor advertising is not a new phenomena, technical progress however, results constantly in new expansions in the environment. Today advertising occurs in all sorts of shapes in the cities, both as free standing signs and as signs attached to facades, incorporated in city Furniture such as bus shelters and on vehicles moving along the city streets.
Grouping advertising into two categories; local and national, reveals that the different categories have different impact on public space.

AbstraktSyftet med min undersökning är utarbeta metoder för att synliggöra betraktarens meningsskapande position vid tillägnandet av bilder. Den kunskap jag i och med detta etablerar vill jag sedan använda i mitt arbete som bild- och mediepedagog. Arbetet fokuserar på eleven som ett aktivt meningsskapande subjekt i enlighet med de feministiskt poststrukturalistiska teorier jag anammar i min undersökning samt då jag utvecklar min gestaltning. Det didaktiska syftet med mitt arbete är att elever ska kunna använda sin medvetenhet vid tillägnandet av bilder för att kunna förankra kunskaper och utveckla de förmågor bildämnet syftar till att de skall få.Mitt arbete tar avstamp i min personliga erfarenhet av att, genom familjefotografier, medvetande göra mitt eget tillägnande av bilder. Jag har därför valt att använda vardagsfotografier (i form av just familjefotografi) som utgångsmaterial i min undersökning .Eftersom mitt arbete syftar till att jag som pedagog ska kunna använda mina kunskaper i en lärandesituation med elever, har jag valt att använda mig av ett litet antal informanter som fått läsa och tolka två fotografier.
