Since reading difficulties is a growing problem in Society and a problem that hinders Children to take an active part in every day life, I wanted to investigate how the School Library can be an educational resource for students with reading difficulties. Using qualitative interviews, I have gained insight into how three school librarians and two teachers work with Students with reading difficulties at two different Schools.The Respondents feel that they have the Knowledge necessary to work with students with reading difficulties, but Wish they had more Resources in terms of Time and Staff to help Students achieve School Goals even better. There are always new assistive technology for Students with Reading Difficulties, and an important part of the Educational work of the School Library, is to be informed of the Facilities available and how they work. I show, in my Research the importance of cooperation between school libraries and teachers to provide the students with reading difficulties the love of reading and work to promote reading. It is important that the School Librarian is an integral part of the School's Team to take full advantage of every opportunity to help the Reading Impaired Students with Information and finding the right Reading Level.

There is a need for correct and adequate pain assessment in horses. Methadone is used in pain management in horses but the full pharmacokinetic picture of methadone is not yet known. The aim of this pilot study was to develop a behaviour protocol and suggest a reliable recording method for use in a larger research project with an aim to potentially correlate behaviours to concentration of methadone in blood. In this study two coldblooded trotters were given methadone intravenously with doses of 0.1 mg/kg for horse 1 and 0.2 mg/kg for horse 2. The horses were videotaped pre and post methadone administration.

The most widely used solution is to fit a pulse counter to a wheel that is in contact with the strip. Common problems with this design are for instance scratch marks on the strip and problems with the flatness measuring system.  One way of circumventing the aforementioned problems would be a non-contact measuring system. The market of today only offers systems based on the Doppler principle.This report evaluates three different systems for non-contact speed measurement. Important areas in the evaluation have been the ability to operate under normal rolling conditions, integration in existing control system and how well the sensor can be fitted to the rolling mill.

Studien har som grund det sociokulturella perspektivet. Individer inom autismspekt-rumet finns i samhället och således även i skolan. Vi har träffat på dessa elever både i den vanliga grundskolan och i särskolan. Syftet med studien är att beskriva två olika nätverk kring sådana elever, en i grundskolan och en i särskolan och det samarbete som sker mellan de berörda parterna och skolans roll i detta. Huvudfrågor och problem-formulering är: Vilka är de olika delarna som ingår i ett nätverk för en elev inom autismspektrumet? Vilka är de viktigaste insatserna för eleven? Studien är en kvalitativ undersökning som baseras på metoderna intervju och observation.

Rätt utförd handhygien är en av de enklaste, mest betydelsefulla och minst kostsamma metoder för att minska spridning av vårdrelaterade infektioner, VRI. Trots omfattande kampanjer för förbättrad handhygien över hela världen för att förhindra VRI är det svårt att uppnå full följsamhet till rekommenderade riktlinjer. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa attityder som kan påverka hälso- och sjukvårdspersonals följsamhet av rekommenderade riktlinjer för handhygien på sjukhus. Litteraturstudien baseras på nio vetenskapliga artiklar som analyserats enligt Lundman och Graneheims (2008) kvalitativa innehållsanalys. Artiklarna har granskats och kvalitetsbedömts utifrån Willman, Stolz och Bahtsevanis (2011) bedömningsmall.

The purpose of this thesis has been to develop a tool for modelling and simulating the nuclear plant Ringhals 3. The model should be used to improve the knowledge on the dynamics of the plant. Ringhals 3 is being upgraded to produce more power and a tool for analyzing the new operating conditions is needed.The work in this thesis has consisted of improving and developing an existing model of Ringhals 3 made with the modelling tool Dymola. The model has been validated by comparing the results of a simulated house load transient with data from the actual plant. Validation shows good agreement with data from the real plant.

The problem partly consists of estimating the demand at an IPO and also to accurately value the business in comparison to the market. To set the price per share is problematic, since the company carrying out the public offering wants to optimise the amount of capital at the same time as they want the share to be subscribed in full. If the IPO would not be carried out, it could cause harm to the position of the underwriters. Purpose: To investigate whether underpricing exists associated with IPO:s on the Swedish market during the period 1995-1999.

I denna studie har insamling av referensdata över språkförståelse hos treåringar med typisk språkutveckling genomförts. Till detta har bedömningsmaterialet Sofialådan (Westerlund & Öfverholm-Engström, 1995) använts. Sofialådan bygger som flera andra språkförståelsematerial på den s.k. act-outmetoden där man låter barnet agera med föremål efter en given instruktion. Med hjälp av föremålen i Sofialådan bedöms barnets förmåga att identifiera grundfärger och storleksbegrepp, kategorisera, flytta föremålenligt olika prepositionsanvisningar samt att följa flerledade instruktioner.

I dagens samhälle spelar informationssystem en viktig roll i de flesta företag och organisationer. Informationssystemets uppgift är att tillgodose och hjälpa användarna med information och informationshantering samt att leda till en effektivisering.Arbetet med att utveckla databaserade informationssystem är problematiskt och systemutvecklingsprojekt överstiger ofta budget både vad gäller tid och pengar. Återkommande problem är att systemen inte gör vad användaren vill samt att systemen inte utnyttjas till full kapacitet. Svårigheten med kravhanteringen är något som anses vara en orsak till misslyckandena.Den viktigaste informationskällan för systemutvecklarna då det gäller att ta reda på systemkraven är användarna. Då användarna spelar en viktig roll i kravhanteringen, vilken i sin tur spelar en viktig roll i systemutvecklingsprocessen, är detta ett intressant problemområde.Denna rapports fokus ligger på hur användarna ser på kravhanteringsprocessen.

Syftet med studien är att få kunskap om hur rektorer definierar och värderar resurser. Genom kvalitativa intervjuer och ett rangordningsformulär har rektorers syn på olika former av resurser kartlagts kopplade till elevers studieresultat och lärandemiljö liksom resurser som eventuella hinder. Studiens resultat pekar på att resursbegreppet bestäms av vem, var och när det definieras. Då samtliga grundskolerektorer i en kommun rangordnar är det resurser av mer abstrakt/själslig karaktär som värderas högt oavsett kön. Högst värderas personalkompetens och den psykiska miljön, vilka båda, enligt Herzbergs tvåfaktorteori, är motivationsfaktorer som ökar arbetsprestation och tillfredsställelse och bör gynna eleverna.

In nature settings people often experience positive emotions. Litterature and theories about the positive effect of nature on humans are largely based upon visual impressions and aesthetic preference. The purpose of the present study is to examine how visually impaired individuals that lack visual impressions experience nature. The background is about what it means to be visually impaired and what it is like to be visually impaired in a nature setting, followed by a presentation of the five human senses and about stimulation of senses in healing gardens. That is followed by theories about the health promoting effect of nature, about why nature and therapeutic gardens make people feel good. After that theories about experiences and relations with settings are presented.

The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate the understanding of children's librari-ans regarding children's needs and preconditions in a library context and based on devel-opmental psychology and information seeking theories. The children's perspective is said to be the guiding star in the children's library and the thesis also aims to study the chil-dren's perspective as defined by children's librarians.The master thesis is a qualitative study based on interviews with children's librarians working at major public libraries. Observations of the children's libraries in the study have to some extent been performed.The study reveals that children's librarians are fairly knowledgeable about children but do not to a full extent use that knowledge into adapting the library to children and their needs. The children are not contributing to the adaptation of the library to any extent as there are few routines for that matter. In society in general children are on a regular basis represented by adults and their perspective on children and children's needs, which may differ from the perspective children have on their own lives, and the same is applicable for the children's library.

This bachelor thesis explores the conditions for a harmonized EU gender equality policy. Recently the maternity leave directive has been introduced by the European commission and seeks to improve the conditions for pregnant workers. The controversial subject of this maternity leave has illustrated many of the problems connected to the development of a social dimension in EU. First of all, the debate concerning the maternity leave directive in the European Parliament has shown that both sides in the parliament seem positive towards creating legislation in this matter on EU level. However, parties at the right tend to disagree to many of the amendments in the proposal, such as the maximum entitlement.

Syfte: Att identifiera vilka aktiviteter som var vanligt förekommande på särskilt boende utifrån litteraturen och vilka effekter de hade på äldres livssituation.Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturöversikt och artiklar söktes genom databaserna Pubmed, CINAHL with Full Text och Academic Search Elite. Studiens resultat innehåller 18 antal artiklar.Resultat: Olika sociala och fysiska aktiviteter hade en positiv inverkan på livskvalitén, men även på de boendes upplevelser av ensamhet. Deras fysiska förmåga förbättrades också i form av att de lättare kunde utföra aktiviteter i dagliga livet (ADL). Fem olika kategorier med aktiviteter skapades. Dessa var trädgårdsprogram, fysisk aktivitet, interaktion med djur, sociala aktiviteter och musik.
