The development of technology and the mechanization in the Swedish forestry has during the last 60 years resulted in depopulation of the country side and due to that the amount of distance forest owners has increased. Therefore the forest companies need to make some adjustments in order to keep the distance forest owners as customers and to attract new ones. The purpose of this essay was to examine and analyze the distance forest owners satisfaction with Södras service offering and quality of service and further develop some proposals for action. A web-based survey was sent out to 634 distance forests owners in Stockholm, Sweden, all members of Södra. 269 respondents participated in the survey and of them, 27 did also participate in a follow-up telephone interview.

The diversity can be calculated in a number of ways, and this study use one of these methods. In this study empirical food webs have been used and analyzed, where eleven characters are defined and used as parameters to calculate the Euclidean distances between food webs that describe the variation that may exist within classes of terrestrial, marine and freshwater habitats. The class who stood out and showed the greatest diversity at the ecosystem level was the marine food webs, which showed a high value of the average euclidean distance. The other networks were not as distinctive and the average of the euclidean distance in these classes was comparatively low..

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how students who study with Problem-based learning PBL in a distance learning course perceive the support from the university library. I first went into adult education, PBL and distance studies, one at a time, and then took a look at the combination of problem-based learning in distance studies. During the investigation, I conducted five interviews using a phenomenographic method to understand how the students perceived the support they received from the university library. The university library gives a lot of support but what I noticed while I was writing was that it is difficult to reach the students with the information regarding the help that is available to them. I give some example on how to develop the support and find that the students have a wide range of different needs for support from the library depending on their individual situation, social context, academic ability, location and course of study.

The aim of this thesis is to get a better understanding of how the management control system works at V&S Distillers. V&S Distillers went through an organizational change in the beginning of 2005. The marketing function went from being a country-driven to a category-driven organization. Among other things this resulted in increased cooperation between employees in different geographical locations. The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate how a group of academic librarians perceive distance learners as a user group. We have in our study been influenced by phenomenography, which is both a set of theoretical assumptions and a methodology. The theoretical frame of reference consists of Carol Kuhlthaus different levels of education and Michael Buckland´s information barriers. Using a qualitative method consisting of nine interviews with academic librarians and structural factor such as academic library policies, we have been able to conduct our study. The results of the study are presented in grouped categories of quotations that reflect various perceptions.

I ett försök att låta poststrukturalismen närma sig materia, för min studie samman en queer psykoanalytisk syn på subjektskap, presenterad av Judith Butler, med miffoteori, en poststrukturell förståelse av funktionalitet, mestadels influerad av Robert McRuer och Lennard J. Davis, för att undersöka hur ramverket inom vilket subjektskap kan intas påverkas. Studien visar att det normata är kontextuellt definierat, och vidare att subjektskap är beroende av mötet mellan subjektet och en potentiellt funktionshindrande miljö; i vilken subjektet antingen passerar som normat eller inte. Detta rörliga subjektskap påverkas därigenom av faktorer såsom rädslan för det miffoeska, en kapitalistisk syn på medborgarskap samt möjligheten att (undermedvetet) nå en (temporär) position mellan det normata och det miffoeska, vars förhållande även genererar en ökad möjlighet för subversivt motstånd. Vidare menar jag att detta kan sägas utgöra ett ramverk inom vilket det blir möjligt att studera subjektskapet, genererat av maktordningar såsom klass, etnicitet etc..

AbstractAboriginerna i Australien har sedan kolonialtiden blivit diskriminerade och har trots sitt relativt nyvunna medborgarskap inte blivit fullständigt upptagna i samhället. Vi undersöker i denna studie huruvida diskrimineringen av denna ursprungsbefolkning kan förstås utifrån delar av genusforskaren Nira Yuval-Davis medborgarskapsteori som förordar en flerskiftkonstruktion för att resonera kring medborgarskapet. I denna fallstudie tillämpar vi kvalitativ textanalys och gör en undersökning av hennes teori. Viktigt för Australiens sociala utveckling har den multikulturalistiska politiken varit. Den syftar till att skapa ett tolerant och öppet samhälle utan diskriminering genom att ta till vara på pluralismen i landet.

Research concerning movement patterns of wild animals has been advancing since GPS technology arrived. But studying the snow leopard (Panthera uncia) is still difficult because of the harsh territory it inhabits in Central Asia. This study took place in south Gobi, Mongolia, and aimed to estimate the time spent at kills and the maximum distance away from kills between visits. Snow leopards were monitored with GPS collars that took a location every five or seven hours. Potential kill sites were established by identifying clusters of GPS-locations in ArcGIS and visited in the field for confirmation.
