This thesis analyzes the media debates generated by the election of Omar Mustafa to the board of the social democratic party, and the appointment of the conservative Minister of Labour, Elisabeth Svantesson. More specifically, the aim is to analyze newspaper material through a discourse analyze, to see if and how religious affiliation effects the possibilities to act as a political representative. Theories of othering and intersectionality serve as theoretical points of departure. Further, chains of equivalence from Laclau and Mouffe?s discourse theory are used to study how categories as ?us? and ?the other? are constructed in the material, and how these processes of categorization relate to the intersection of religion, gender and ethnicity.

This essay describes the phases of funeral rituals between the Syrian/Assyrian, and compares the homeland with Sweden. It describes the stage of rituals according to Victor Turner schema of separation, margin or limin, and aggregation. The rituals religious significance agrees with Clifford Geertz?s theory about the importance of religious beliefs for the human being.

Syfte: Mitt syfte med min c-uppsats är att belysa utvalda kvinnors situation inom hederskulturen samt undersöka religionens inverkan på hederskulturen.Metod: Litteraturstudier.Frågeställningar: Vad har kvinnorna gemensamt i sina berättelser om sina liv?  Och som påverkat deras livssituation? Vad för skuld/orsak har religion för livssituationen som kvinnorna har levt?Huvudresultat: Min litteraturstudie handlar om fyra kvinnor som lever eller har levt i hederskulturen. Studien bearbetare frågeställningarna som handlar om vad kvinnorna har gemensamt med varandra, varför de har valt att motarbeta hederskulturen samt relationerna till religion. Syftet med studien är att få en inblick hur det är att växa upp som ung kvinna inom hederskulturen. Studien handlar om kampen hos kvinnorna, att få rättvisa och rätt om sin egen frihet.

Sekularisering fortsätter att drabba kyrkan i både öst och väst. Uppsatsen behandlar sekulariseringsteorier utifrån ett bibliskt perspektiv. Hypotesen är att Jesus Kristus är kyrkan som kropp. Detta kyrkobegrepp har förändrats. Även budskapet och pedagogiken har påverkats.Fältarbete har genomförts i både Egypten och i Sverige.

I denna uppsats analyserar jag kristen mission i Indien utifrån postkolonial teori. Denna undersökning är en analys av intervjuer som är genomförda med två informanter. Båda dessa har varit verksamma som kristna missionärer i Indien. Jag har även använt mig av forskning om mission som material. För att tillgodogöra mig intervjuerna har jag använt mig av muntlig historisk metod. I denna uppsats är jag intresserad av mina informanters föreställningar av Indien och deras identitet som missionärer.

In which purpose, for who and when does equality get fullfilled in the education system? This studie takes aim on the upper level and second upper level school system to study what the curriculum says on the one hand and what the system brings out on the other. With critical theory as method, with Herbert Tingsten as founder, this studie analyzes the logic of the education system to set out if the pupils choice of education, after the upper level lower secondary school, in second upper level is legit with democratic principles such as freedom (of choice). The theory, used to analyze the individuals progress to be autonomous, uses Adam Swifts definition of freedom as an individual being autonomous. The findings of the study shows that what politicians chases as equality really i´snt equality.

Denna uppsats syftar till att undersöka om graden av judisk religiositet påverkar hälsan. Religiositet definieras i tre dimensioner; beteende, attityd och tro som tillsammans skiljer en religion från en annan. Hälsa definieras med hjälp av World Health Organisation, WHO, som 1948 menade att hälsa är psykiskt och socialt välbefinnande och inte blott frånvaro av sjukdom och handikapp". "ett tillstånd av fullständigt fysiskt,Studier har visat att ett stort religiöst engagemang har ett måttligt samband med bättre hälsa där religion erbjuder ett litet, men betydande skydd. Vissa forskare menar dock att religion har en negativ påverkan på hälsan, i och med en ökad risk för olika typer av psykiska problem.

This case study examined what impact the neurological disorder Asperger?s syndrome has on the line of reasoning about religion and spirituality. Also, the question of whether the four informants showed any tendency to use the cognitive tools calledtheory of mind (ToM), existential theory of mind (EToM) and hypersensitive agency detection device (HADD) or not was put forth. From the interviews five themes were extracted: a stereoscopical view upon the world, thoughts on physical causality, prayer used as one-way communication, spiritual agency and intentionality, as well as existential and social questions. These themes were subsequently matched with theories on ToM, EToM and HADD.

The purpose of this essay is to illustrate how the position of power / exercise of power are perceived in today's schools from the teacher's perspective. I have examined how students' freedom and democracy education interpreted in real life, and how this affects both teacher and student learning approaches. I would also highlight the need to set standards for children's psychological development related to the consequences will be. I have chosen to perform a qualitative research through individual interviews with five participating teachers from different experiences in different type of school. I have used the hermeneutic method of analysis to analyze the material.

This study aimed at supplementing the Swedish National Agency for Education?s (Skolverket) study (2006) I enlighet med skolans värdegrund? which investigated whether textbooks in various school subjects went against the fundamental values in the curricula Lpf94 and Lpo 94. Due to this study?s supplementing intention, this study uses a similar title as Skolverket. By adding a new subject (Swedish) to Skolverket?s study, this study also strived to show how discrimination might be present in other subjects than the ones Skolverket involved in their study.

The potential of information technology as a means to invigorate democratic practise is constantly under discussion. Regardless of the differing opinions as to the most suitable way to utilise IT, there are certain democratic core values that have to be considered. One of these is freedom of information, defined by us as the right of every citizen to seek, obtain and express information. The aim of this study is to explore whether the use of IT as a means to enhance democracy can strengthen the citizens right to freedom of information. As an instrument for analysis we use an article by Jan van Dijk, professor of communication science.

Right-wing populism has through the past decades flourished in several countries in Europe. Research has shown that right-wing populism is, with its political starting point in ?the people?, focusing on the majority and is sometimes excluding the minorities from the politics. Since human rights regulations are mainly a protection of minority rights, the aim is to examine if the politics of the Sweden Democrats, as a case of a growing right-wing populist party, is a threat to human rights and in that case, in what respects. The thesis is supposed to answer the question in what respects the politics of the Sweden Democrats contravene with the European Convention?s protection of minority rights.

The Act Prohibiting Discrimination and Other Degrading Treatment of Children and School Students (2006:67) entered into force on 1 of April 2006. The purpose of this Act is to promote equal rights for children and school students and to combat discrimination on the five discrimination grounds of sex, ethnic origin, religion or other belief, sexual orientation or disability. This Act also has the purpose of combating other degrading treatment. According to the Act the organiser of the activity shall insure that there is an equal treatment plan that aims to promote the equal rights for children and school students irrespective of the five discrimination grounds. Discrimination is a result of the social norms which tends to exclude people who does not fit in and therefore considerers as being abnormal.

Detta är en jämförande undersökning mellan hinsidesföreställningar i de skriftliga källorna till fornskandinavisk religion och bildscener på de sena (700 ? 1100-talet) gotländska bildstenarna. Den tidigare forskningen kring hinsidesföreställningarna har ofta fokuserat på Valhall vilket enligt mig kan ha lett till att andra centrala föreställningar kan ha kommit i skymundan. Jag visar med min genomgång av föreställningarna i de skriftliga källorna att de olika platserna som den döde kunde komma till bär på gemensamma aspekter i form av kvinnan som möter den döde, kvinnan som härskar över den döde samt hallen där man åt och drack. Samma tema återkommer på de sena gotländska bildstenarna .

Syftet med denna uppsats är att belysa hur eleverna på Björkhagsskolan uppfattar ämnet religion. Tycker eleverna att det är viktigt att ha religionsundervisning och ska den ligga kvar som en obligatorisk kurs eller bör den vara en tillvalskurs? Jag vill också titta på om eleverna kan hitta något som de tycker är viktigt i undervisningen. Kan man efter införandet av Lpf 94 se någon skillnad i elevernas syn på religionsämnet när det gäller de som går teoriinriktade eller yrkesinriktade linjer. Jag vill även se om det finns någon skillnad på hur pojkar och flickor ser på ämnet religion.För att få svar på mina frågor genomfördes en enkätundersökning på Björkhagsskolan under våren 2002.
