Ambulatory surgery is common and develops alongside surgery and anesthetic methods. Time admitted is short and aftercare takes place in the home environment.Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate which symptoms patients experience after ambulatory surgery related to anesthesia. Furthermore how strongly symptoms affect the patient. Symptoms appear as a result of anesthesia and surgery and can therefore be interpreted as nursing induced suffering.Method: Participants were recruited at ambulatory clinics at a Swedish university hospital spring, 2015.  Prior to the study permission was granted from the clinic managers. The study is a quantitative descriptive longitudinal study.  Data collection forms were administered and data collection was performed by phone.

There have been changes in Earth?s climate system on both global and regional scale since the pre-industrial era and some of these changes are due to human activities such as the combustion of fossil fuels. This calls for the development of engines with a higher efficiency and less harmful emissions. One interesting concept is the Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine, which has the advantages of potentially low emissions combined with high efficiency. However, HCCI with diesel fuel requires a relatively long fuel/air mixing time to ensure a "homogenous" charge.

Fallskärmshoppare exponeras för bägge dessa faktorer, vilket skulle kunna innebära en ökad risk för att utveckla hörselskador. Trots detta är området mycket sparsamt studerat. En ökad kunskap inom området medför att eventuella behov av preventiva åtgärder kan identifieras.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka förekomsten av upplevda hörselbesvär hos fallskärmshoppare, samt om det finns något samband mellan upplevda hörselbesvär och antal hopp, användning av öronproppar eller akustiska höjdvarnare.Metod: Studien genomfördes i form av en kvantitativ tvärsnittsstudie. En webbenkät skickades ut till samtliga aktiva fallskärmshoppare med registrerad e-postadress i två fallskärmsklubbar i Mellansverige.

Comfort analyses regarding human induced vibrationsIt is not too common among civil engineers in Sweden to perform comfort analyses considering the vibrations caused by human activities. In addition, the Swedish standards lack requirements to be used for comfort analyses in design of floor-systems. The demand for large spans in combination with slender slabs, is today a reason to investigate the floor-system constructions, in order to prevent disturbing vibrations and oscillations.The purpose of this thesis is to create a guide for how a comfort analysis, considering vibrations, should be implemented. Göran Svedenbjörk who is an expert in structural dynamics has been interviewed where he presents his latest project Värtaterminalen and answers some questions about vibrations due to human activities.Floor-systems, consisting of concrete slabs supported by steel or concrete beams, have been investigated with simulations in the finite element program Abaqus. In the simulations, the influence of various factors on the natural frequency of floor-systems and the acceleration level caused by dynamic loads, is studied.

Spitz nevus was first described by Sophie Spitz in 1948 as juvenile melanoma. The lesion is a benign melanocytic tumor, which consists of epiteloid- and spindelshaped cells. Histological is spitz nevus difficult to distinguish from malign melanomas and spitzoid melanomas. Loss of symmetry, loss of maturation in the deep component, nuclear polymorphism and hyper chromatic nucleus are features which can be found in melanomas. Some of these features are often seen in spitz nevus.

Handling, loading, transport time and unloading in connection to transport of farm animals affect animal welfare. Induced effects include both psychological and physiological stress responses in animals. The physiological parameters may be measured through blood analysis while behavioural changes often manifest themselves through increased vocalisation, escape attempts and apathy. Physiological parameters are additional parameters of importance when measuring animal stress responses. The handlers behavior during transport has been shown to have major impact on animal welfare and the quality of meat. Animal friendly handling and driving of animals create a more manageable work environment for the handlers. To further increase animal welfare in connection to transport, stables should be built with well adapted drift passage and ramps on the transport vehicle.

Cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) are great candidates for composite materials. The reasons why CNCs are such attractive materials for them are due to their great mechanical properties, high aspect ratio and low density. On the other hand, hydroxyapatite (HAp) is a kind of calcium phosphate and a main component of bones and teeth. The purpose of the present study is to make oriented nano-sized composites with CNC and HAp. Although some researchers carried out to make CNC composites with HAp for biomedical materials, nano-sized and oriented ones haven?t been achieved yet.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka hur arbetet i Nicaragua bedrivs för att förhindra och förebygga mäns våld mot kvinnor, samt vilka förutsättningar detta arbete har i landet. Syftet bröts ner i följande frågeställningar:Hur arbetar kvinnoorganisationer respektive familjevåldsenheter i Nicaragua med att förebygga och förhindra mäns våld mot kvinnor?Finns det andra viktiga aktörer i samhället som arbetar med att förebygga mäns våld mot kvinnor, vilka är de och hur arbetar de?Hur ser förutsättningarna i Nicaragua ut för verksamheter att arbeta för att förebygga och förhindra mäns våld mot kvinnor?Studien baseras på totalt sex intervjuer samt ett kortare samtal. De verksamheter som deltagit i studien är tre kvinnoorganisationer, en familjevåldsenhet, en mansorganisation, ett kvinnoboende samt ett nätverk bestående av kvinnoorganisationer och enskilda kvinnor. Mäns våld mot kvinnor i Nicaragua är ett stort problem i samhället och arbetet som bedrivs för att förhindra och förebygga våldet är omfattande.
