The purpose with this studie was to examine how individuals with experience of a long-term drugabuse describe their transformationprocess, and if this process has contributed to a change in their selfdescription. The studie was delimit to examine the transformationprocess, not in relation to what sort of abuse the informants had, or in relation to gender. The studie anwered questions concerning motivation to stop abusing, how the informants started the drugcareer, and how life as an abuser is described. In the studie qualitative method was used, five semi-structured interviewes were made with individuals who had a long-term addiction in the past. Symbolic Interactionism was the theoretical frame of referense that was used for analyse.

Swedish students' knowledge of both mathematics and reading comprehension has deteriorated in recent years. Scientists are discussing whether there is a connection between these areas and that the pupils deteriorating math skills may have something to do with their increasingly lower results in terms of reading comprehension. To investigate this possible connection, I conducted a survey among students in ninth grade and have come to the conclusion that the scientists are right: this connection absolutely exist. Students who received a high score on tasks designed to test students' mathematical problem-solving skills, also received high results on the reading comprehension test. And students who received a poor performance on the problem-solving tasks, were also low performers in the reading comprehension test.

En uppstallningssituation skiljer sig mycket från den miljön där hästen lever i det vilda och detta kan skapa olika problem om bristerna i omvårdnaden blir för stora. Denna studie tyder på att agalakti och kolik är problem som kan uppstå. Det är mycket viktigt att stoets allmäntillstånd, temperatur samt avföring kontrolleras regelbundet för att så tidigt som möjligt upptäcka eventuella avvikelser.

Systemutveckling har länge kantats av problem och oförmåga att möta nya problem och krav som uppstår under processen från ide till färdig produkt. För att möta de problem som de traditionella systemutvecklingsprojekten innebar så arbetade Ken Beck et. Al. (2001) fram det agila manifestet, det agila manifestet beskriver de kärnvärden som systemutvecklingsprojekt bör arbeta utefter, detta för att öka flexibiliteten och minska problemen med långa ledtider.SCRUM är en agil systemutvecklingsmetod som togs fram av Jeff Sutherland och Ken Schwaber, detta efter att de båda hade sett behovet utav en metod som klarade att möta snabba förändringar och att kunna möta problem under processens gång.För att undersöka hur hantering av problem i agila systemutvecklingsprojekt fungerar i praktiken har en fallstudie genomförts på ATS väst hos CGI.En stor del av problematiken i systemutveckling är distansen mellan de inblandade parterna, något som påverkar arbetsmetodiken. Detta resulterar i en mer omfattande dokumentation än vad den agila arbetsformen förespråkar och minskar även den personliga kommunikationen.

Examensarbetets problemområde återfinns i den tidiga delen inom informationssystemutveckling. Denna utvecklingsfas, kallad Requirements Engineering (RE), innefattar aktiviteter för att förstå, dokumentera och validera de behov och krav som föreligger för ett framtida informationssystem. RE är en avgörande aktivitet i processen att utveckla ett informationssystem som tillfredsställer användare och kunders förväntningar och behov.De olika intressenterna som är involverade i RE-processen har olika roller, bakgrund och kunskaper. Av denna anledning föreligger olika problem och möjligheter med avseende på intressenterna. I examensarbetet utreds vilka dessa möjligheter och problem kan vara.

The U.S. came close to hit their debt ceiling and had some severe trouble getting a federal budget in order in the fall 2013, which raised a global news echo around the world. The purpose of this study is to look at of how the Swedish newspapers framed this specific event; we wanted to find the dominated similarities and differences in the different articles as well as see if our domestic perspective appeared in the frames. In order to come to a conclusion we first read all the material published between the dates of the 2th to the 17th of October in our chosen newspapers, we then did a mapping schedule and sorted through the articles, two of our main sorting points were ?the dominating framing? and ?the dominating operator? in each and every article.

Deliberative politics offers a new and exiting way of overcoming the problems that the western democracy of today is facing. A lot of research in the most recent years have had the goal to replace the representative democracy with a decision-making frame built on decentralization and deliberation. The goal for this essay is to create a framework for local decision-making, based on deliberativ norms, that could work as a complement to the representative democracy instead of replacing it.During the recent years the so-called "brukarråd"; councils for the most common users of one special public service, has been a new way for the local government to get in direct contact with those who are most affected by changes and developments in the specific area of the public administration. In this essay I argue for that these councils should be designed so that they could house deliberative processes.After creating a model for the possible way of designing the "brukarråd" I compare the framework with the system that exists today. In this way there is a possibility to point out if there is a way to deepen the democracy within the already existing system..

Bristande information angående läkemedelshantering kan vara en orsak till att patienter läggs in på sjukhus med läkemedelsrelaterade problem. En välinformerad och kunnig patient minskar risken för fel i läkemedelshanteringen. Patientinformation bör ses som en viktig del i patientens omvårdnad. Syftet med studien är att belysa betydelsen av sjuksköterskans roll i informationen till patienten för att få en säker läkemedelshantering. Metoden utgörs av litteraturstudier och vetenskapliga artiklar söktes i databaserna CINAHL, PubMed och ELIN under perioden september och oktober 2007.

My essay deals with a problem in our society which, in my opinion, has been neglected. Even today in 2011, the quality of schools and preschools is extremely varied. This has been a problem for a long time and not nearly enough attention has been paid to it.In my essay I have tried to understand what it is that causes these differences in quality between preschools. With help from literature and research studies I have examined what quality in preschool really means.My starting point is an account of my own experience at the preschool where I currently work and a description of a study visit I made to another preschool which operates in a very different way to the one where I work. I wanted to investigate what the consequences are for children who grow up attending preschools of different quality.

This study is based on an ongoing debate regarding the Stockholm Stock Exchange, which centers around the possible abolition of quarterly reports. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to this debate by examining how the relationship between financial reports and stock price correlates. The study's methodological approach is based on the Capital Market Research frame-work in which an ERC model and an extended model are used to measure the relationship. Three hypotheses were formed to categorize the direction of the study, these categorizations treats the differences in impact between quarterly and annual reports on stock price, as well as differences in impact as a casual effect of company size and seasonal sensitivity. The results of the study show that quarterly reports have a stronger impact on the share price than annual reports.

Utvecklingen av webben har från att vara statisk i sin presentation och förmedling av informationövergått till att vara mycket rikare på funktionalitet och interaktionsmöjligheter. Ajax är ett begreppsom relaterar till en samling tekniker som när de används i kombination ger möjligheten att skapawebbapplikationer som sett till effektivitet och interaktion kan jämföras med lokala applikationer. Igrunden ger Ajax möjlighet till asynkron kommunikation vilket ersätter den traditionellawebbmodellens synkrona beteende. Detta leder till webbapplikationer kan inta en nyinteraktionsform där innehåll inte behöver laddas i form av hela sidor. Webbutvecklare ställsdärmed inför en rad problem när dessa webbapplikationer skall skapas i jämförelse med dentraditionella webbutvecklingen och syftet med denna uppsats är således att kartlägga problem ochproblemområden som finns vid webbutveckling med Ajax.

The power of news media to shape public opinion has been widely researched and acknowledged. In the globalized world of today, media representations of different ethnic groups therefore contribute to social segregation or desegregation. This thesis investigates how Spanish news media frame Spain?s most numerous minority of non-European ethnicity: the Moroccans. Using a quantitative content analysis, we have analysed about 200 news articles in the two most read Spanish online newspapers, El País and El Mundo, published during a two-year period, 2010-2012.

The aim of this study was to understand how care staff in residential care perceive and work with elderly mental health and how these perceptions and work is related to aging. We have gathered our empirical material through eight qualitative interviews and vignettes with care staff in residential care. The study was conducted in a municipality with 10 000 to 20 000 inhabitants in southern Sweden. The material was analyzed with use of ageism as a theoretical frame of reference. The results showed that the care staff had different perceptions of mental illness in general and regarding the elderly.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att försöka skapa en större förståelse för hur svenska tidningar har använt sig av framing/inramning och sociala representationer i sin nyhetsrapportering kring de två svenska journalisterna Johan Persson och Martin Schibbye som satt fängslade i Etiopien.För att skapa en större förståelse kring inramningen av "Etiopiensvenskarna" har denna uppsats använt sig av kritisk diskursanalys på svenska morgon- och kvällstidningar under två olika tidsperioder, en i inledningen och en i slutfasen av situationen med "Etiopiensvenskarna"Resultatet av vår analys visar att det har skett en framing/inramning av nyhetsrapporteringen kring Johan Persson och Martin Schibbyes situation i Etiopien. Denna inraming har bland annat skett genom att tidningarna tilldelar dem en hjältestatus där de har valt att belysa vissa delar av situationen, som till exempel deras nationalitet, yrke och frågan om yttrandefrihet.
