The purpose of the current study is to present an interpretation of Eros and its demonical aspect as it is described in Plato?s dialogues Phaedrus and The Symposium as well as to attempt to throw some light over the question in which way the erotic as such influences Plato?s notion of how to pursue philosophy. In the first part of the essay an account is given of the Platonic Eros as a unifying element and as striving for being. I defend the position that in the context of the interpreted dialogues philosophy is thought of as an erotic enterprise which takes place as a coming closer to the object of love. This coming closer takes place as remembering in Phaedrus and as creating in beauty in The Symposium.

I denna uppsats undersöker jag hur nationell identitet, fiendebilder och historiskt minne konstrueras i den grekiska författarinnan Pinelopi Deltas (1874-1941) roman "Sta mystika tou Valtou". Romanen, utgiven 1937, har motiv från striderna mellan grekiska och bulgariska nationalister om herraväldet över Makedonien i början av förra seklet och har blivit en klassiker inom grekisk ungdomslitteratur. Utifrån teorier om historiebruk och nationalism respektive begrepp med sitt ursprung i postkolonial litteraturteori undersöker jag hur Delta skildrar bulgarer och greker, och motsättningen mellan dem, hur den s.k. makedonska kampen konstrueras som kollektivt minne samt vilken betydelse den tillmäts i det nationella identitetsprojektet. Undersökningen visar på ett tvetydigt förhållningssätt till frågan om etnonationell tillhörighet i romanen, som hotar att underminera författarinnans nationalistiska utgångspunkter.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the media discussions of the rape in Bjästa 2009 and to reveal how stereotypical illusions of ethnicity, religion and gender affect how media understands and defines violence. The rape in Bjästa occurred in a ?Swedish context? but has been defined as honor related in other arenas outside media. This discussion occurred because the whole village turned against the woman that was raped and supported the perpetrator? a phenomena that speaks against the idea of an equal society and a behavior that is usually understood as honor related and something that the ?others? do.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if there are any differences regarding syntactic complexity in written language between persons with (phonologically based) reading and writing difficulties and a control group. Earlier research has pointed to such a difference, indicating that texts written by subjects with reading and writing difficulties display a lower grade of syntactic complexity than text written by control groups.Two texts each from 48 subjects (24 from each category) were collected. The subjects were divided in two age groups, one consisting of 15-year-olds and the other of university students (adults in various ages). The subjects were selected through a word decoding test and a spelling test, where the lowest performing formed the group of reading and writing difficulties and the highest performing formed the control groups. In some criminal cases, the only existing evidence is the verbal statement of a witness or the plaintiff. The typical example is an alleged rape where victim and perpetrator have had some kind of relation, and their records of the incident differ. In these cases, the assessment of the value of the evidence drawn from the plaintiff's story is of crucial importance. On the one hand, a false positive judgment means that a person is wrongly convicted, on the other hand, a failure to correctly identify a truthful claim of rape means that a victim of a severe crime is left without judicial remedy. Jag har gjort en studie av English House i Danmark, där danska skolklasser får veckolånga språkbad. Att enbart tala engelska med eleverna blir där möjligt genom att även utnyttja andra sätt att kommunicera, än det rent verbala. Jag har relaterat undervisningen på English House både till språkforskningen, och till de vanligaste språkinlärningsmetoder som används i skolan. Att språk handlar om kommunikation mellan människor är naturligt på English House. Metoderna som används är många, för att passa så många som möjligt, och stimuleraså många sinnen det går.

Who finds it useful? Background: Corporate governance has emerged to maintain the stockholders interests in corporations where the owners are separated from control in order to create confidence in the corporations. In 2005 the Swedish code of good governance emerged to prevent in part additional corporate scandals from happening and to make sure that the board is acting in the interest of the owners. The code is a complement to the Swedish Companies Act since it has a more strict demand in certain areas but it gives the companies a possibility to deviate by either complying or explaining their actions.Purpose: The purpose with this thesis is to examine who finds the Swedish code of good governance useful.Method: The research method of this survey is quantitative where the purpose is to investigate deviations in the companies? corporate governance reports.

The aim of this study is to examine how European companies? stock price is affected by an announcement about foreign direct investment in one of the BRIC countries. Another aim for the study is to examine if the market reacts differently to the three modes of entry methods in a given BRIC country and to examine if the market reacts differently to different European countries. The study also set out to answer if there were any effects of the three modes of entry that was visible a short time after the announcement. To answer and examine this, the authors used the event study approach. The study was conducted with a sample of 47 companies from France, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Germany.

Boken utspelar sig förvisso i ett svenskt samhälle, ett samhälle som inte har mycket av den mörka, koloniala historia som andra västeuropeiska länder bär på. Trots detta finns både föreställningar om "vi och de andra" och centrum och periferi ständigt närvarande även i Sverige, och många är de människor och grupper som alltför väl känner utanförskap även här. Dessa teorier bör därför kunna komma till användning på ett givande sätt.
