In a web environment the library and the librarian continue to function in their role as information provider even when the physical library is closed. Research question is to describe how and in what extent the public libraries websites are integrated in their daily activity and what the causes are for that. The empirical material consists of a survey of number of public libraries websites and qualitative interviews with responsible librarians. I have delimited the study by only investigating the websites of Gothenburg public libraries. In my survey of the websites I have studied four spheres; Services, Contact, Structure and General viewpoints.
Äldres välbefinnande på äldreboenden. : En kvalitativ studie om hur enhetschefer på äldreboenden beskriver sitt arbete med äldres välbefinnande.
Syftet med studien är att beskriva hur enhetschefer på äldreboenden i en svensk kommun beskriver arbetet med äldres välbefinnande och hur de konkretiserar den samma. Studien har genomförts med en kvalitativ forskningsmetod i form av semi- strukturerade intervjuer tillsammans med 8 enhetschefer. Intervjuerna har transkriberats och kodats genom innehållsanalys. Resultatet har analyserats utifrån tidigare forskning och olika teoretiska ramar till begreppet välbefinnande. Enhetscheferna som deltog i studien valde att beskriva arbetet med personalen som det främsta sättet att bidra till äldre välbefinnande.
Om samspel och gruppklimat i arbetsgruppen : En kvalitativ studie om samspelets och gruppklimatets betydelse för arbetsgruppens gemensamma psykosociala arbetsmiljö
The purpose of this paper is to identify significant factors of influence for the co-existence and team climate within working groups, and to examine their impact on the psychosocial work environment within a group. Team climate and interaction affect every individual in a group. The manager, however, is the one formally accountable for the psychosocial climate in a working group, which is the reason why this study uses the management perspective.As an introduction to the empiric study, an overview of the existing literature within the field was made. A qualitative method is used and the empiric data is based on semi-structured interviews. The study comprises six interviews with department managers within the Social Services in the City Council of Stockholm.
Enhetschefers arbetssituation under förändringsarbete : En kvalitativ studie om hur enhetschefer inom kommunal äldreomsorg ser på implementeringen av det salutogena arbetssättet.
The purpose with the study is to see how middle managers in communal elderly care looks at the implementation of the salutogenic way of working in their operations. And how it affects the middle managers working situation. We studied which scope of actions middle managers has in the salutogenic way of working. We had previous knowledge that the salutogenic working way is an ongoing work of development in several communes, and therefore we chose to study in a profound way how this work of development affects the middle managers working situation. To reach a deeper knowledge about how the salutogenic way of working affects the middle managers working situation we conducted a qualitative study with been seven semi-structured interviews with middle managers in different geographical communes.
Livsbalans i det nya arbetslivet : En kvantitativ studie om chefer och övriga anställda
Syfte: Det nya arbetslivet har inneburit en rad förändringar för den lönearbetande populationen i Sverige, gällande allt ifrån tid, rum och tillgänglighet i de alltmer flexibla arbetsvillkoren. Syftet med denna studie är därför att undersöka ett antal faktorer i det nya arbetslivet som kan ha inverkan på den lönearbetande populationens livsbalans. Studien undersöker också om det finns skillnader mellan chefers och övriga anställdas livsbalans samt även om chefens nivå i hierarkin påverkar livsbalansen.Metod: Datamaterialet som används i denna kvantitativa studie är hämtat från European Social Survey 2010. Studien bygger på en svensk population bestående av 832 lönearbetande respondenter. Den beroende variabeln är ett index som mäter livsbalans.
Anst?lldas attityder till chefers ledarskapsstilar inom fackliga organisationer - En kvantitativ studie om genusrelaterade attityder till ledarskap
This study was based on a quantitative method to examine gender-related attitudes towards leadership styles among employees in trade union organizations in Sweden. The aim of the research was to investigate and understand how gender relates to attitudes regarding leadership within these organizations. The study was based on research questions related to preferences for different leadership styles and the impact of gender on these attitudes. The study incorporated previous research and relevant theoretical frameworks such as leadership theories, gender theories, and theories on prejudice against female leaders to contextualize our findings. Data were collected through a survey using a convenience sampling method, targeting employees of trade union organizations in Sweden.
Kulturellt relevant socialt arbete? : En fältstudie i en SOS-barnby, Swaziland
The purpose of this study was to examine how SOS Children's Villages as an organization in Swaziland is affected by, and takes into account, the cultural, organizational and societal context in which it acts. Material was gathered through a field study during one month in one of the three SOS Children's Villages in Swaziland. The study has a qualitative approach and is based on the result from 12 semi-structured interviews with village mothers and other representatives from the organization. The other representatives were: social worker, program director, child and youth development coordinator, board member and educational manager. Since this study is both characterized by a specific historical, cultural and organizational context, we decided to connect the postcolonial perspective with an organization theory with focus on the concepts of culture, power and a children?s right perspective.

Method: The study is based on a deductive and qualitative methodology. We conducted 10 semi-structured interviews with first line managers in Swedish public healthcare organizations. A result is reached by a thematically constructed analysis were citations are presented and analyzed. Result & Conclusions: The study shows through the model that has been used that first line managers are highly affected by administrative tasks that can be linked to New Public Management. The participant managers see these related tasks as important for the organizations and natural in their profession. Contribution of the thesis: The study contributes with an increased understanding of the managing of first line managers and how it is affected by New Public Management related administration through a perspective that is lacking in previous research. The new perspective gives a nuanced view of the manager?s role as administrators and gives rise to suggestions of future research. Karriärsnätverk - En studie om chefers användning av kontaktnät
På dagens arbetsmarknad diskuteras det hur arbetssökande enklast får jobb. En av de vanligaste metoderna inom jobbsökande är att använda sig av kontakter. Dessa underlättar vägen till jobb för den arbetssökande genom att kontakten ger information, tips, råd och referenser som är till hjälp för den arbetssökandes jobbchanser. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur chefer inom olika branscher har nått sina chefspositioner och vilken nytta de har haft av sina sociala kapital.Undersökningen baseras på sex stycken intervju där respondenterna är jämt könsfördelade, det vill säga att tre av dem är kvinnor och resterande tre är män. Dessa är i sin tur stationerade inom olika branscher och verksamheter.

Despite the fact that women become more and more present in the private sector they still are heavily underrepresented in top positions. The cause has been debated and several explanations have been discussed. Although, many women have succeeded to reach top positions by making some more or less deliberate decisions that might have been decisive for their careers.The main purpose of this study is to analyse what women who aim for a successful career should be aware of regarding their choices of education and profession. Moreover, the importance of different circumstances for the development of women?s career opportunities has been inquired into.
Socionomen som chef inom va?rden : En kvalitativ studie av mo?tet mellan medicinsk och social kompetens
The purpose of this paper is to investigate how social workers, working in a management position in the health care system, perceive the encounter of the medical and social perspective. With seven qualitative interviews, the study tries to conclude whether or not social workers are accepted at managerial positions within the health care sector. The social worker is, as a manager in health care, a leader but at the same time in a professional alienation from the medical caregivers. Organizations in the health care sector are often multi professional and have their own long standing tradition, history and culture. The results show that the conditions for social workers, working in a management position in health care appear to be agreeable.
Analys av QoS i mellanvaran Meteor
This thesis is closely related to the Dynamically Self-Configuring Automotive System(DySCAS) project. DySCAS is a middleware for electronics in an automotive system. Thethesis work has been performed in cooperation with ENEA. Parts of the demonstrationplatform Self configurable High Availability and Policy based platform for Embeddedsystem (SHAPE) developed for the DySCAS project by ENEA have been used in theimplementation phase of this master thesis.The goal of this thesis was to evaluate how the Meteor MW, an offspring of the DySCASmiddleware, should handle QoS and to design a Quality of Service Manager (QoSM) for theMeteor MW that fulfilled hard real-time requirements. The thesis also had the objectiveof analysing and identifying the requirements on such a QoSM from a QoS perspective.Specifically the requirements to guarantee real-time support for applications running onthe MW.

Earlier studies have shown that musculoskeletal disorders among animal keepers are
more frequent than in other occupations. Most of the farms have expanded and the
farmers who used to work alone have suddenly become a work manager with several
employers. There are only a few studies made on the work environment in dairy farms.
Our study is based on a questionnaire and is a part of a project called large dairy herds.
The study is based on data from the persons who milk most of the time. The questions
they had to answer were about the work environment, musculoskeletal disorders and the
psychosocial environment. The results of the survey are presented in diagrams and
figures.
It was common that the dairy producer themselves answered the questionnaire.
Kommunikation : En kvalitativ studie av hur det verbala samtalet under en livsmedelskontroll uppfattades av livsmedelsföretagare
Då matförgiftningarna runt om i världen stadigt ökar, har livsmedelsinspektörernas roll att kontrollera hur livsmedelsföretagen uppfyller livsmedelslagstiftningen blivit allt viktigare. År 2006 ändrades den svenska livsmedelslagstiftningen till att bli mer överensstämmande med EU:s livsmedelslagstiftning. I och med denna förändring ändrades livsmedelsinspektörernas roll till att kontrollera hur väl livsmedelsföretagens rutiner för egenkontroll uppfyller livsmedelslagstiftningen. För att kommunikationen under de kontroller som livsmedelsinspektörerna utför på livsmedelsföretagen ska kunna fungera på ett effektivt och noggrant sätt, krävs det att båda parter hjälps åt. Då forskningen inom det aktuella området idag kan ses som bristfällig, har detta legat till grund för detta examensarbetes inriktning.
