This thesis deal with tick burden on roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) fawns, in relation to age, weight, hind foot length, and as well as to vegetation and habitat on bed sites. Roe deer fawns (N = 25) were captured from May 27 to June 27. Samples of ticks were collected and tick burden were estimated. Of all sampled ticks the nymphs and adults were Ixodes ricinus, while the larvae were not identified. 4.4 % of the sampled ticks were larvae, 55.0 % nymphs, 26.8 % adult females, and 13.8 % adult males.

SammanfattningSyftet med studien var att beskriva distriktssköterskors reflektioner kring att arbeta med kroniska bensår. Studien genomfördes som en semistrukturerad intervjustudie och hade deskriptiv design. Totalt sexton distriktssköterskor intervjuades, åtta distriktssköterskor med landstinget som arbetsgivare och åtta distriktssköterskor med kommunal arbetsgivare. Materialet analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultatet visade att distriktssköterskorna ansåg att arbetet med kroniska bensår var ett vanligt förekommande arbetsmoment samt att bristande samarbete från patienten var en bidragande orsak till långa behandlingstider och utebliven sårläkning.

KRAV-certified organic dairy herds generally have a lower milk yield than conventional dairy herds. A high-level of milk yield requires a feeding regime with high amounts of concentrates, a factor known to contribute to the development of claw lesions (Bergsten, C. 2003). This study contains how pre-school teachers talk about their mission as tutors and their assignments to educate student teachers in relation to the document that contains information concerning practice-based learning. Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att undersöka hur patienter upplever sitt venösa bensår och dess omvårdnadsåtgärder. Litteraturstudien grundades på metod av Forsberg & Wengström (2003). Tio vetenskapliga kvalitativa artiklar inkluderades i litteraturstudien. Resultatet visade på att patienters upplevelser av venösa bensår hade en negativ inverkan på livet. Hos patienterna fanns en ständig oro och rädsla för eventuella komplikationer, yttre våld mot såret samt känslor av hopplöshet gällande sårläkningen.

Seventy-two working horses (they had been ridden with bit and bridle within the last two weeks) were examined in the oral cavity. Findings and status were noted. The horses were randomly chosen among individuals without clinical symptoms from the mouth and gastrointestinal system. The result showed that 93% of the horses had changes in the mucus membranes, 86% in the form of ulcerations. The P2 region was most commonly affected followed by wounds more caudally in the mouth (P3-M3 region).
