Transcending sound design is possible. There are unseen possibilities and a great potential for improvement and development in sound and music design ? but there is a great difficulty penetrating the obstacles that lies in the way for such development to take place and to exist. The difficulties in being negotiable and productive lies more within the limits of the audience it has to gain, than in itself. It is as though music and sound design has to evolve very slowly, in an almost evolutionary style; one step at a time, to be accepted.

This study concerns design thinking and how to achieve usability when designing applicationsfor smart watches. The study's focus is on interaction and design for online auctionapplications such as Ebay and Tradera. After studying usability and design for devices withsmall screens, guidelines and design principles for interactive systems, we developed apaperprototype for an auction application. The prototype was used for testing our intervieweeswhile observing and asking questions. After collecting the data we analyzed the responses andfeedback on our prototype and combined the results to previous studies.

Under senare år har den elektroniska handeln ökat i omfattning, kraven ökar och det blir svårare att tillfredsställa kunderna vilket leder till att många har övergett e-handeln. Denna rapport ställer frågan: Hur ser de designfaktorer som är avgörande för en lyckad e-handels satsning ut? Det finns ett antal viktiga kriterier som måste uppfyllas vid utvecklandet av lyckad webbsida. Hela utvecklingsprocessen är indelad i tre huvudfaser: analys, design och implementation & test. Denna rapport beskriver de viktigaste faktorerna som vi har hittat i vår fallstudie på ett företag med en bra fungerande webbsida.

The IT industry is constantly evolving and it's more or less a requirement today for web developers to be familiar with and to be able to develop for all platforms. A technique that has taken hold and is now widely used is responsive design. Developing responsive design means adapting the layout to the viewing environment; the screen size. Another useful method when developing for different devices is the mobile first theory, which means developing for the mobile screen first. This is done to scale down the site and to clear unnecessary information in order to provide a better user experience.

Syftet med detta projekt är att närmare studera vilka generella tekniska problem som kan förekomma vid instudering av Dutilleux´s sonatine för flöjt och piano, samt hur dessa kan lösas. För att få reda på vilka generella tekniska problem som kan förekomma har jag valt att föra samtal med flöjtister på proffessionell nivå och observera mina repetioner/min egen övning. Resultatdelen tar upp olika aspekter av teknisk problematik. Några exempel på detta är: Att hitta ett flöde i först satsens rytmiskakonstruktion, ha en flexibel embouchure pga. sonatinens stora register omfång samt förslag på alternativgrepp om greppkombinationen är mer komplicerad, eller förslag på alternativgrepp för att lyckas åstadkomma en bättre intonation..

Effects of climate change, urbanization and global homogenization are resulted in the degradation of land and losses of natural habitats. Ecological design integrates nature into urban environment by respecting natural ecological principles and processes and creating resilient urban biotopes which also can be used by local urban communities. The aim of the thesis is to answer the research questions: How ecological design principles can be applied for re-design of Toledo Riverfront (with requirements of the design competition)? and What is the ecological design in landscape architecture? I participated in the USA design competition with the aim to create a vision and redesign of Toledo Riverfront in Ohio State, USA. The site is located in the south point of Lake Erie. As a result of a long industrial activity, riverfront of Toledo had been transformed into inaccessible and abandoned brownfields. In my proposal I applied ecological design principles on three scales: the city of Toledo by reinforcing of ecological connection and creating green corridors along the river; the intermediate scale by suggesting public parks along the river front and on the fine level by proposing detailed design including remediation of the site and use of dredged material.

What if the emergency response directly knew exactly where to go and what to do if a road accident occured? During the last ten years the number of motorcyclists in Sweden has doubled. Every year, more than 300 riders are seriously injured and over 40 die in road accidents. Being found in time is critical to increase the chance of survival. The goal of this project is to use design methods to find a solution that enables a fast and adequate emergency response for motorcyclists and other unprotected road users..

Tillsammans med Konsthantverkcentrum (KHVC) ska ett förpackningskoncept skapas somgör svenska konsthantverkares produkter mer attraktiva, förena konsthantverkare runtom Sverige och göra dem konkurrenskraftigare internationellt. Förpackningskonceptet måste passa så många konsthantverk som möjligt oavsett material p.g.a. att produkterna inte kommer i stora serier, de är i många fall rent unika. Till en början har uppgiften analyserats och avgränsats till att se till tre konsthantverkskooperativs förhållning och behov för att sätta en kravspecifikation på förpackningen. Faktainsamlingen har bestått av att ta fram all information om dagens förpackningar av konsthantverk, både inom och utom kooperativen.

In this study we are seeking to discover the norms in the design of logotypes and how they havechanged over time. To achieve this we have chosen to analyze the logotypes of twenty companies withthe largest expenditure on advertising in Sweden. We mapped chosen design attributes within the logoto discover the similarities and then we selected the five oldest brands to analyze how their logos havechanged over time. The design changes in the logotypes over time is can be related to the changingattitudes of the general public and the designers ambitions to draw on convention to create iconic designthat will spark brand-recognition. However many changes can?t be directly explained through changesin convention.

This project has been about making a design suggestion for a boat accessory that adjuststhe distance between a sail-or motorboat and the dinghy, which is connected by a rope inthe stern. Today this is all done by hand and can lead to problems when it comes tostressful situations such as harbors and narrow passages.A company called Sailsafe came up with the idea and the construction, which they alsohave tested. I found them through an acquaintance at Dacat AB where I did an internshipin the fall of 2010.Using sketching as the primary tool I?ve worked in an almost-real design project with theaim to develop my skills and give the company a relevant design suggestion. Den här uppsatsen handlar om rörelsen intelligent design, som tror att en intelligent skapare ligger bakom stegen i evolutionen. På så vis blir inte evolutionen en slumpmässig sak, utan en sedermera intelligent designad evolution. Den här intelligenta skaparen är med andra ord Gud. Uppsatsens ämnar  undersöka intelligent design och gymnasieskolan, närmare bestämt hur ID korrelerar med didaktik. Rent konkret är syftet med uppsatsen att se hur man i de centrala didaktiska frågeställningarna bemöter intelligent design i religionsläroböcker på gymnasial nivå.

Bakgrund: Det postindustriella samhället har fått en ny syn på arbetaren där man ska vara självgående mångkunnig och flexibel, vilket är helt andra krav än de som fanns under industrialismen. Då en allt större konkurrens infinner sig på arbetsmarknaden, får företagen även en möjlighet att ställa ibland till synes orimliga krav på sina medarbetare. Att medarbetare idag ska vara flexibla har blivit ett allt större krav, oavsett vilken befattning man har. Flexibla medarbetare blir mer åtråvärda att behålla, till skillnad från den som inte är flexibel. Den flexibla arbetaren blir mer lönsam för det företag han verkar i.

Denna uppsats är ett examensarbete i integrerad produktutveckling vid Högskolan i Skövde.Rapporten redogör för utvecklingen av en hundgrind som är anpassad för hemmabruk. Syftet med projektet har varit att ta fram en estetiskt tilltalande produkt som är anpassad efterkundens behov.Projektet har genomförts i fyra faser; planering och förtydligande av uppdrag, konceptuell design, konceptutveckling samt detaljdesign. I samtliga faser har olika miljöaspekter vävts in, för att den färdiga produkten skall utgöra minimal miljöpåverkan. Miljöfokus har i förstahand integrerats i projektet i form av livscykelanalyser och en checklista för hållbar utveckling.Resultatet av projektet är en grind som till största del utgörs av perforerad aluminiumplåt. The process of producing a video game is one that goes through a number of phasesduring the span of the entire production. One of these phases is the concept design phase,which is part of the pre-production. This phase is an important aspect of the productionas it is where all the different parts and ideas concerning the game are brought togetherto define what the game is going to be. Though a clearly important part of the videogame production surprisingly little research have been done on the subject of conceptdesign. This thesis presents what place concept design has in the overall game productionand how the design process is handled.
