En undersökning om det åländska sjömanslivet.Syftet med detta arbete vara upptäcka hur livet var på sjön på de åländska fartygen under mellan åren 1900- 1945. Det andra syftet var att utifrån hieratiska sjömanslivet få fram vad som gav status på de åländska fartygen.  Resultatet visar att för att få de åländska fartygen gällde det att individen skulle uppfylla sjömansidealet. Sjömansidealet var bland annat att sjömannen skulle vara modig, fysisk stark och ha erfarenhet. Status kunde sjömannen få inom två kategorier, inom arbetet och inom det sociala. De faktorer som gav status inom arbetet var att arbetsam, kunnig, fysiskt stark, modig, beslutsam, erfaren, hård.

Denna studie handlar om språk och statusskillnader mellan språken. Syftet var att ta reda på om flerspråkiga grundskoleelever upplever att deras olika språk har olika status. Undersökningen är deskriptiv till sin karaktär. Sex stycken respondenter från åk 9 blev intervjuade. Intervjun består av två delar en skriftlig del och en muntlig del.

The purpose of this essay is to examine how some individual PE teachers view knowledge and what they think about the status of physical education whitin the school. The method used in this examination was both sudies of literature and a qualitative investigation. Six PE teachers, from three diffrent schools in Sweden, were interviwed from a phenomentographic research approach. I made the analysis from a sociocultural approach. The result indicates that th teachers had difficulties to describethe conception of knowledge, but that the pupils/students achieve knowledge in physical education.

Undersökningen som presenteras i denna uppsats har genomförts i syfte att utröna vilken status elever med ett annat modersmål än svenska upplever att deras modersmål har, samt om denna upplevda status har något samband med elevens inställning till det egna modersmålet och till svenskan. En enkätundersökning med 110 elever samt fyra kvalita-tiva intervjuer ligger till grund för de resultat som presenteras.Undersökningen visar att elevernas upplevelse av modersmålets status är högst varierande. Det finns ett tydligt samband mellan upplevelsen av modersmålets status och elevens inställning till modersmålet. De elever som anser att deras modersmål har hög status har generellt en mer positiv inställning till sitt modersmål än de elever som upplever att det har låg status. Undersökningen visade inte på något signifikant samband mellan modersmålets status och elevens inställning till svenskan.

Detta examensarbete handlar om faktorer hos skolbarn i årskurs tre som ger hög status/popularitet i den egna klassen. Syftet är att skapa en bild av hur elever ser på popularitet och status samt belysa vad som gör att vissa elever anses ha högre status bland klasskamraterna än andra. I syftet ingår också att ta reda på om det finns skillnader mellan pojkars och flickors syn på hög status. Vi har utgått från följande frågeställningar: Vad eller vilka faktorer ger elever hög status/popularitet i skolklassen? Finns det skillnader mellan vad som ger pojkar respektive flickor hög status/popularitet och i så fall vilka är då dessa skillnader? Undersökningen är genomförd i två klasser i årskurs tre.

Since January 1st 2005 all companies listed on a regulated stock exchange within the European Union are required to present their financial reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The intention of the introduction of IFRS is to achieve international harmonization of accounting rules in order to make financial reports more comparable between companies from different countries. The purpose of financial reports presented in accordance with IFRS is to provide information that is useful to the users of the information. The aim of this paper is to investigate whether the information regarding goodwill and the goodwill impairment test, presented in accordance with IFRS, in fact is useful to a specific group of accounting information users, namely equity analysts. An empirical study is conducted, based on interviews with seven Swedish equity analysts.

Another positive effect we are hoping for is to improve the situation for the investors whereas all parties benefit from an improved portfolio selection.This study is conducted through a qualitative case study, where we used a deductive approach and collected our data through personal interviews.The conclusion that emerges is that the financial counselling could potentially be improved if financial advisors improve their knowledge in portfolio theory.The originality shapes through the opportunity to investigate a specific bank and because of that an opportunity to examine a specific case more thoroughly was created. Our thesis contributes with opening La?nsfo?rsa?kringar?s and other banks? eyes to how their financial counselling could be improved through new knowledge in portfolio theory.

In this study the author attempts to identify factors that are determinants for why some pupils in Swedish grade school have high status in comparison with their peers. The study takes on the characteristics of both an ethnographic and a literature study by comparing the findings of interviews carried out with students of a first grade class with previous research. The study identify several tools for analyzing of how status may be understood in specific situations.The study also finds that important factors for gaining high status amongst children in aschool classes might be the ability to apply access strategies to get accepted in social interactions, such as game play, have the ability to create games that are enjoyed by peers and social skills, to name a few. Overall the study shows that children's game play with each otherare crucial for their social interactions and their social position. The study also show that children that have earlier established relationships with other children in a specific group alsohave a better opportunity to establish a high status position..

This study investigates certified and non-certified teachers in Sweden and how they themselves view the status of their profession. Teacher certifications were introduced to Sweden in 2011, under the assumption that it would raise the status of qualified teachers. Recent results from international studies showed that Swedish students have fallen in rank compared to other countries around the world, and one of the proposed solutions proposed to this was to raise the status of teachers, as well as their pay. A higher status would then solve other issues, such as the low number of applications to university courses related to teaching. This study asked high school teachers, through an online questionnaire, what their views were on the status change the reform was supposed to create.

The purpose of this report is to examine what will happen with the financial control of a company if changes from a family owned company to a public company listed on a stock market. The expectations were that the control would have a more short-term focus with more financial measures. The result shows that the changes were experienced as minor. A common form of communication within Facebook is the communication between users via status updates. If you write a status update all your friends have the opportunity to read and to respond to the update. The overall issue of this survey is: how are Facebook users to commu- nicate with status updates?  The survey aims to gain insight and greater understanding of communication patterns and user awareness of social contexts when they write status  updates. The study will act as an attempt to understand a small part of a complex interaction taking place in a social situation.

Families with limited financial resources risk social exclusion in today?s consumption-based society, where status and identity are tied to items like clothing, gifts and activities. Limited financial resources can therefore often lead to social isolation because consumption is central to social participation, something that can rarely be prioritized in poor families. In preschool, unclear policies on extra costs can negatively affect families. The purpose of the study was to investigate how socioeconomically vulnerable families experience and are affected by the preschool and its requirements, as well as how preschool teachers work to reduce the economic gap among families in the preschool context.

Large companies in today?s business environment are to a great extent depending on their credit score by rating institutes like Moody?s and Standard & Poor?s. There is however indications that these big institutes are not always rating companies accurately. This is why this thesis aims at developing a new credit rating model, CRITA-Score, with the objective of determining a company?s financial health more accurately.

The purpose of this thesis is to map out and investigate how the banking sector affects a customer?s willingness to change bank, and what the switching costs are for a customer when making these changes. A case study was performed through qualitative and quantitative questionnaires and interviews. The qualitative part was carried out to create hypotheses. The hypotheses was tested in a quantitative survey to be able to either accepted or rejected these them.
