During Spring semester 2011, Linda Engstrom and Malin Heder performed ?Golden Ratio?, a thesis which included 22.5 hp. The thesis followed the syllabus for the Degree Project for degree of Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering (MSGC12) which was a unit in the Innovation and Design Engineering program within the Faculty of Technology and Science at Karlstad University.The client was Crem International AB, a company located in Åmotfors that develops the design, manufactures and markets coffee machines. The supervisor at the company has been Peter Larsson and supervisor at Karlstad University has been Monica Jakobsson. Examiner for the thesis has been Professor Fredrik Thuvander at the Faculty of Technology and Science at Karlstad University.Crem International AB controls a patent, representing a new technology to streamline and minimize use of energy during the coffee preparation and results in a good coffee quality.

Studien handlar om hur läroplanens grundläggande värden om jämställdhet mellan kvinnor och män förankras i läromedel och undervisning i Svenska B på gymnasiet. Undersökningen består av två delar. I den första delen analyseras tre läromedel i Svenska B som tre gymnasielärare från Skellefteås tre gymnasieskolor använder sig av i undervisningen. Den andra delen består av intervjuer med tre lärare om hur de använder läromedlen ur ett jämställdhetsperspektiv i sin undervisning. I studien framgår tydligt att kvinnliga författare systematiskt marginaliseras i läromedlen.

The purpose of this thesis is to create opportunities for an efficient interchange of information between humans and technology, especially for the skilled user, and put the designprincipal for informative structures and features into practice. Informative structures and features in a large number of information items helps the peripheral visual system to automatically capture knowledge through logical patterns.A field experiment was done to evaluate if informative structures and features, implicate efficient human information-processing, even in a small study. The results was ambiguous because the quantitative part of the investigation didn?t show any significant differences, whereas the qualitative showed that people prefer a dynamic document with a high degree of informative structures and features over a dynamic document with a low degree of informative structures and features. Even if this study was inconsistent, probably because to few subjects where used, the implication of the research that?s behind it is solid.

The connection between fluorescence and color management still is a relatively unexplored area. Thefollowing composition analyses the theory that when printing on fluorescent ink jet paper using ICCprofilesa more yellow print will appear. In theory the ICC-profile compensate for blue light that fluorescefrom the paper with the complementary color, yellow. The human eye apprehands this fluorescentlight as white.When categorizing a number of ink jet qualities some tests to indicate change of color in the final printwere made. Five qualities were chosen for further analyses, each with different white point.

In the west part of Trelleborg, on previous farmland a new society is under construction. It is situated right next to the ocean and close to the European freeway. Eight types of villages, all with different kind of architecture will be built in the area, one of them is Torns Village built by Skanska and Ikea. A concept called BoKlok. This specific village consists of twelve houses and five apartment buildings. They are all somewhat classical in their appearance with wooden panel, but at the same time they have a modern touch.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur och varför lärare i ämnet idrott och hälsa på gymnasiet använder sig utav musik som ett pedagogiskt verktyg samt varför de inte använder musik. Syftet är även att undersöka om gymnasielärarna i ämnet idrott och hälsa blir påverkade av några yttre faktorer som kan resultera i att de använder musiken i sin undervisning. Studien är baserad på kvalitativa intervjuer med åtta lärare i ämnet idrott och hälsa på gymnasiet. Resultatet visar att lärarnas tankar och idéer kring användandet av musik samt hur de upplever att eleverna agerar till musik stämmer bra överens med tidigare forskning som visar många fördelar med att arbeta till musik. Resultatet visar även att de yttre faktorer som påverkar lärarna mest, när det gäller hur det använder sig utav musik i deras undervisning, är eleverna och deras musikintresse.

The aim for this master thesis is to create an understanding of the intersubjective processes of how individuals are experimenting with their identities in social media and the consequences for the identity and embodiment. The thesis is completed with the help of discourse analysis and a starting point in four complementary theories. Central to the implementation of the analysis is the concept of diffraction. Therefore the thesis is, which is reflected in the choice of theoretical approaches and methods, critical to many aspects of classical philosophy of science and method. The empirical material is based on interviews.

Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka textlämpligheten och dyslexianpassning av de texter som förekommer i svenska läroböcker i engelska A på gymnasiet. De läroböcker som undersöks är Master Plan, Straight Forward, RealTime1 och Spring Board 1. För att navigera rätt bland tidigare forskning och lärobokstexterna väljer jag att jobba utefter en frågeställning: 1. Vad kan ses som dyslexianpassning och vad är icke dyslexianpassning i läroböcker som används i engelska A? För att kunna undersöka textlämpligheten och dyslexianpassningen i lärobokstexterna användes två metoder; strukturell textanalys och innehållsanalys/läsbarhetsanalys. Resultatet av dessa analyser är bland annat att läroboken RealTime1 har stora fördelar för elever med dyslexi vad gäller textlämplighet..

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate a Swedish subject headings list for childrens and young adults fiction, from the perspective of consistency, and to analyze this concept's importance as a tool for measuring indexing quality. Another aim is to examine how librarians view the subject headings list as an aid for indexing fiction. The main questions are: How does the degree of consistency change when using a subject headings list for indexing fiction compared to free indexing? How does indexing change according to the facets Form/Genre, Time, Space, Matter and Person when using the list? What do consistency calculations reveal about indexing quality? How do the participants look upon the list as an aid for indexing? The empirical material consists of results from two different indexings of fiction, conducted by librarians. Consistency is calculated using Hoopers and Rollings algorithms.

Uppsatsen behandlar valet av skönlitteratur i svenskundervisningen på gymnasiet med visst fokus på genus. Syftet med undersökningen har varit att studera vilken skönlitteratur lärarna använder i litteraturundervisningen på gymnasiet och vilka faktorer som ligger till grund för deras val samt om de anser att det finns något behov av att införa en litterär kanon.Undersökningen har genomförts som en enkätstudie på fyra gymnasieskolor i Jönköping. Samtliga lärare som undervisar i ämnet svenska på dessa gymnasieskolor har ingått i studien.Resultatet av undersökningen visar på en omfattande lista av skönlitterära författare och titlar som använts i svenskundervisningen de tre senaste åren. Den skönlitteratur som angivits av respondenterna, redovisar en klar manlig dominans av författare. Enbart 25 % av litteraturen som används är skriven av kvinnliga författare.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur lärare uppfattar bedömning i matematik och hur de tolkar begreppet bedömning för lärande. Vidare undersöks huruvida bedömning för lärande kan användas inom ämnet matematik på gymnasiet och hur detta påverkar elevers lärprocess. Resultatet grundar sig på intervjuer med matematiklärare på gymnasiet, och pekar på att lärare har en diffus uppfattning kring begreppet bedömning för lärande. Vidare visar resultatet att bedömning för lärande används, både medvetet och omedvetet, i olika former inom matematikundervisningen. Framförallt är det feedback och konkretisering av mål som är återkommande och framstående komponenter i förhållande till bedömning för lärande.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine and analyze the communication effects from the campaign SAS EuroBonus American Express Card. Our aim is to measure the advertising effectiveness of the campaign.To gather primary data we have conducted a quantitative survey at Arlanda Airport, where the campaign is mainly located. The survey included a total of 253 respondents representing the population at Arlanda Airport.Our conclusion is that there is an awareness of the presence of American Express at Arlanda. The company is clearly dominating among its competitors regarding visibility at the airport. Despite this, only a moderate degree of the travelers recognize the pictures from the campaign.

In conventional viscose manufacturing, a large amount of carbondisulfide is consumed. This amount has to be decreased to keep the production cost down and to reduce the environmental impact. The purpose with this work was to show if an enzyme treatment of a dissolving pulp could increase the degree of substitution in the viscose so that the amount of carbon disulfide consumed in the process could be decreased. Previous investigations by Kvarnlöf (2007), Engström et.al. (2006) and Henriksson et.al.

Syftet med denna uppsats är, att genom en diskursanalytisk metod, undersöka hur genus framställs och konstrueras i två samhällskunskapsböcker från gymnasiet. Vidare är syftet att undersöka i vilken grad läroböckernas framställning av manligt och kvinnligt stämmer överens med den syn på genus och jämställdhet som finns i skolans styrdokument, i detta fall Lpf 94? Tidigare forskning har visat att det är män/pojkar som får mest utrymme i läromedlen samt att män och kvinnor oftast framställs och avbildas med stereotypa drag. Detta är också resultatet utifrån min undersökning av läromedlen även om analysen också visat på försök att bryta med traditionella könsmönster genom att i vissa fall hålla en könsneutral linje. Resultatet från uppsatsen visar också att läromedlen inte riktigt uppfyller de krav på jämställdhet och genusproblematiserande, vilket uppmanas till i styrdokumenten, i detta fall Lpf 94.
