In today's society there is a significant focus on energy efficiency. Despite this, people leave lamps, televisions and computer screens etc. powered on unnecessarily. The goal of this project is to build a simple prototype for home automation where a user, via an application on a mobile phone, can switch on and off the power of an electrical products in the home and as well as being able to check whether such products are switched on or off. The prototype will also collect data on power consumption for these electrical products.

The report examines the factors which may be a contributing cause to the problems that are present when ferritic stainless steel are eddy current tested in a warm condition. The work is carried out at Fagersta Stainless AB in Fagersta which manufactures stainless steel wire. In the rolling mill there is an eddy current equipment for detection of surface defects on the wire. The ferritic stainless steels cause a noise when testing and this noise complicates the detection of defects.Because of this, a study was made of how the noise related to factors such as steel grade, temperature, size and velocity. By observing the signal and with the possibilities to change the equipment settings the capability to let a signal filter reduce the noise level were evaluated.

Vår uppgift har varit att ta reda på hur man genom illusioner kan lura människans hjärna att se djup även då bilden är helt platt. The thesis aims to investigate the farmer?s perception of currency hedging and interest rate bonds and to investigate the farm size of companies categorized by number of acres, has no effect on this. The work also aims to gain an insight into what active farmers consider to be important what to consider when they choosing a bank and a personal banker. The work is based on the survey and has been supplemented by a literature review on the subject. For the survey were selected out randomly 50 farmers with Agriculture and Rural Management education. The requirement of the farmers was that they should be farmers by profession, and also made sure that the farmers of various sizes came with. We got a total of 32 responses within the set response time we said, which was better response than we expected. When the final result came we ranged the farms in a size range. We found out that all farmers in the study diligently follow the market and are easy to assimilate new ideas, providing opportunities to profitability of their business with the different instruments that are available on both the financial level and farm level. The investigation revealed that the major in favor of having a personal banker. They think it´s good to have a special plug to turn to who has knowledge and experience of how the agriculture sector operates.

The aim of the study is to investigate how teachers talk about their teaching in the subject of Swedish, with a focus on L2 pupils? writing. Data were collected through interviews with four teachers of Swedish in grades 1?3. The interview responses were compiled for interpretation and divided into four shared themes and allocated to six writing discourses.

Landfill leachate contains a variety of contaminants and is created when rainwater percolates the landfill. For landfill management the leachate is the main issue that can cause problems to the environment. At the landfill of Fläskebo, Renova AB treats the leachate in a local treatment plant. The treatment consists of a chemical treatment step with chemical precipitation, flocculation, sedimentation and filtration, and a final step with a carbon and peat filter. Renova has to ensure that the condition of the leachate reaches the regulation set for the landfill before it is released to the recipient.

There are around 855 000 on-site sewage systems in Sweden and some 1 800 of these are located in the municipality of Sigtuna. The Sigtuna local authority has set the goal that all sewage systems with insufficient function should be improved before the end of year 2010. A malfunctioning on-site sewage system may cause three main problems: spreading of diseases, discharge of eutrophicating compounds and wastage of resources. The municipality strives to reduce these problems already at the stage of granting permits for installation of on site sanitation systems. The municipality has recently adopted new guidelines, which demands certain minimum reductions for different compounds. The guidelines also state that it is preferred that neighboring house-owners cooperate in jointly built and operated sewage systems and that the system should be able to recycle plant nutrients.

Mitt examensarbete har utförts på uppdrag av ATEA/Exait i Luleå, för Coop Norrbotten. Målet med arbetet har varit att designa, implementera och dokumentera en ny, förbättrad nätverkslösning för Coop Norrbottens butiker, samt att konstruera en detaljerad utrullningsplan för implementation i produktionsmiljö med minimala driftstopp. Min handledare på ATEA var Leif Häggström, seniorkonsult och specialist på brandväggar och nätverkssäkerhet. Jag har även arbetat nära den huvudansvarige för IT på Coop Norrbottens huvudkontor i Luleå; Per-Ola Björnfot.Kraven som fanns på den nya designen från Coop Norrbottens sida var att säkerheten på nätverket skulle förbättras avsevärt, och att strukturen även skulle göras mer modulär och resurseffektiv. Den utrustning som initialt var tillgänglig för designen var den som redan fanns i drift ute på Coops affärer: ?1x Cisco 1811 Integrated Services Router?1x 3Com 3226 L3 access-switch?1x HP Procurve 1800 PoE-switch?2x Trådlösa accesspunkter från Trapeze (Juniper)Utgångspunkten var, som nämnts ovan, att designen skulle baseras enbart på befintlig utrustning.

Bakgrunden till föreliggande examensarbete är att lakvatten från upplag med till exempel hushållsavfall och industriavfall kan ha miljöstörande egenskaper. För karakterisering av lakvatten finns inte några fastställda allmänna metoder. På IVL, Institutet för Vatten- och Luftvårdsforskning, pågår ett projekt vars syfte är att utveckla en metodik med vilken lakvatten från avfallsupplag kan karakteriseras. Detta examensarbete utgör en del av karakteriseringen och syftar till att karakterisera lakvatten med hjälp av fraktionering efter partikelstorlek och multivariat modellering. Fraktioneringen grundade sig på en laborativ del baserad på tidigare utförda försök.

This essay focuses on the reception of Yahya Hassan?s debut YAHYA HASSAN in Swedish media, mainly daily newspapers. Following the work of Magnus Nilsson it analyzes the ?reading strategy of the politics of identity? in ?immigrant literature? and outlines structural racism in the literary scene. By bringing attention to the critics? use of this reading strategy, it is possible to unveil the ?ethnic filter? through which literature by Swedish authors with a ?non-Swedish identity? is being read in contemporary Swedish literary criticism.

This rapport is result of a project. The purpose of which was to design a circuit that is used in a heat glove. The heat glove is the technical aid which provides heat inside a glove.It is specially suited for old people who have problems with cold hands because of decreased blood circulation.There already was an old circuit in the glove that gives a constant current which develops heat from battery to glove through a circuit. The temperature is between 32 and 34 degrees.The problem with the existing circuit was to regulate the temperature. There is only on/off switch and there is no way to adjust desirable value of the temperature.In order to solve the problem the old circuit was investigated.

Detta är en rapport för ett 15hp examensarbete på Linköpings Tekniska Högskola. Projektet syftar till att implementera ett digitalt frekvensutjämningsfilter för audioapplikationer i ett Atmel DE2 FPGA utvecklingskort. Specifikt ska systemet användas till att korrigera ojämnheter i in-ear hörlurars frekvenssvar. Denna rapport är en beskrivning av systemets utformning och hur arbetet gick till väga.Resultatet blev ett väl fungerande system och ett antal förslag på förbättringar..

Jag har under fem veckors tid utfört mitt examensarbete hos Vattenfall Vattenkraft AB i Sundsvall. Uppgiften bestod i att switchar i deras driftcentraler i Bispgården, Storuman och Vuollerim skulle bytas ut. Uppgiften kompliceras eftersom switcharna är placerade i en driftcentral med ett nätverk som ska fungera dygnet runt. I uppgiften ingick det att skapa en ny konfiguration för de nya switcharna som skulle tas i drift. Detta är den del som tagit allra mest tid.

Denna rapport ger en bild över luftfilteroch dess funktioner. Syftet med arbetet var att undersöka hur elektriskt ledande luftfilter tillsammans med en joniseringsenhet fungerar samt hur de står sig i förhållande till de mekaniska.Det låg även i syftet att titta på hur andra parametrar påverkar filtrering såsom tjocklek och innehåll av olika andel konduktivt material. Bakgrunden till arbetet var att VokesAir AB hade testat att tillverka elektriskt ledande filter med jonisering i filtret vilket hade fungerat i lite skala men inte i större. Det gjorde att man i detta arbete ville titta på om det kunde fungera om man satte joniseringen utanför filtret istället. Nio stycken luftfilter tillverkades i ennon-woven konstruktion med olika andel konduktivt material och i olika tjocklekar.

Målet med detta examensarbete, utfört på uppdrag av Vectura Consulting AB, har varit att undersöka möjligheten att ansluta en vindkraftpark till järnvägens kontaktledningsnät. Möjligheten att koppla om vindkraftparken till järnvägens hjälpkraftnät, som bland annat förser växelvärmare och signalsystem med effekt, har också undersökts. Eftersom kontaktledningsnätet och hjälpkraftnätet arbetar med olika frekvenser och spänningar, 16? Hz och 15 kV respektive 50 Hz och 22 kV, måste därför en komplett krets för frekvensomvandling, spänningsomvandling och omkoppling tas fram. Projektet har begränsats till en del av Botniabanan, sträckan Örnsköldsvik-Nordmaling.I denna rapport har trafikfrekvensen på den valda sträckan på Botniabanan undersökts för att bestämma en genererad effekt till inkopplingspunkten, samt för att undersöka när det kan vara lämpligt att koppla om till hjälpkraftnätet.
